Thanks so much for starting the new thread!

Eek I feel really disorganised, I still don’t have much at all!

I was thinking of getting the car seat in the John Lewis sale it’s got 10% off. I was going for the Cybex cloud Z because it has a lie-flat option so I if you are visiting people you can take them in the car seat and change it to the flat when you are in the house so they are safe rather than lug a carry cot/ Moses as well. Everyone seems to go for maxi cosi though!

I’m still torn on pram too I just can’t be bothered with all the reviews and feel clueless as a FTM anyway! So leaning towards Bugaboo Fox just because our friends who had a baby a few weeks ago got it and seem happy.

Still no crib purchased. Hoping to borrow a bouncer off a friend. My mum has been buying bits and bobs of vests and gros I think.

I just feel a bit overwhelmed by it all and because we are team yellow and I haven’t felt the baby really , it still feels quite surreal. Plus we are stuck in our tiny flat as renovations at the house so I can’t decorate the nursery which I think would help make it seem a bit more real.

Has anyone got a Mokee cot bed? They look really nice and classic. Leaning towards that for the nursery and one of those huge Ikea chest of drawers!

I’m 23 weeks now. What have you guys been noticing recently symptoms wise or weight wise? I feel like the last few weeks have been pretty same-y for me. Is there anything we should be doing at the moment? Feel like a lot of the other stuff like getting baby into position bouncing on the ball, perineal massage etc all comes later?

Treaclepie19 · 14/06/2020 12:56

@NWnature we were going to ger the clpid z but

Treaclepie19 · 14/06/2020 12:58

oops sorry! We were going to get the cloud z but the cybex aton 5 was in our pram bundle and I figured even with it lying flat I'll be neurotic and want her in a carrycot so seemed silly us spending more on it.

We had a cybex last time too and loved it.

@Quiffy awww what a sweet thing for him to say! Lots of brownie points for that 🙌🏻 What dividers did you go for? None of our non essential shops are open yet, so need to buy online but I’m going to do the same and just roll up all clothes to space save and think it looks good on tiny things lol. Also going to get vacuum packs for 3mths onwards, anyone got any recommendations? Last ones I got weren’t the best. Welcome 💁‍♀️ @Red3232- I’m due a little boy (my second son) on 5/10/20 xx

LexiM · 14/06/2020 13:16

@NWnature I heard from a big baby shop that Cybex is their most popular seller at the moment. We were tempted by it due to the lie down function but it was £200+ more so decided not to for the amount of time it will be useful and the fact we probaby would choose a different seat brand for the next stage. We got the Uppababy Vista v2 but it was between that and the buggaboo Fox which I agree looks great and good on all terrain. In the end I went on the fact the Uppababy looked easier to collapse and had really good feedback on here, plus can be used as a double if we do have more babies in the future - who knows! From our small testing so far we are happy with how it all works, very easy and straight forward.

My symptoms are same old now too - aches here and there and lots more baby movement. Just finishing inflating my ball today and can’t wait to have a go. I’ve got it now simply because I notice when I rotate my hips they hurt less so I’m hoping it will be more comfortable than the sofa in the evenings.

Thanks everyone for your advice on the sheets/Muslin for the pram mattress, will have to get some for it as our sheets for the bedside crib are much larger.

Prettylittlelady · 14/06/2020 14:06

I’m wondering if I could join? I’ve read through some of the other threads but was a bit nervous to jump on board. I’m due 14th October so not quite ‘early
oct’ but hope it’s ok to join.

Prettylittlelady · 14/06/2020 14:06

Oh & I’m having a little girl x

otterbaby · 14/06/2020 14:21

@NWnature we got the mokee mini cot as it works up until 3 years old. It's such nice quality and was pretty easy to put together.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 14/06/2020 14:39

@Red3232 welcome!! I'm having a girl 💕

@Treacle81 yes was me who posted and thank you!! Hope your ears are ok.

@Quiffy how exciting about the wallpaper and dividers!

@Spark27 congrats on the 25 week! Wish I was that far, I'm 23 tomo.

@NWnature I love bugaboos! I know 3 people with them and had a good push on all 3 and loved them all! In the end we went for surf 3 silver cross because I've also pushed that one recently and so has Dp and we both liked it and just hard to choose one when at the min can't try them out!

And the mokee this is something else we are luck enough to being given by a friend, going to just got a new mattress. It's the Wool nest and stand and in person it's gorgeous.

@Prettylittlelady of course ok to join! I'm due 12th so only few days before you! I'm having a girl too

I'm so excited I'm only working 3 days a week for the next 3 weeks, then 2 weeks 5 days a week then after that if gov guidelines don't change I'll be furloughed as in 3rd tri. I know a few of us said last week we were struggling with working 5 days a week, I really was. So this will be nice xx

Spark27 · 14/06/2020 15:11

Of course it's ok @Prettylittlelady. I'm actually due 27th Sep but wanted to stay with this group because everyone's so lovely.

Congratulations on your pregnancy x

Quiffy · 14/06/2020 17:23

@LexiM my uncle is a decorater so I'm hoping he puts the paper up for us 🤞 otherwise it would definitely just be paint

@Treacle81 went for these amazon.co.uk/Organisers-Organiser-Underwear-Collapsible-Organizer/dp/B07SGY6D5L/ref=pd_bap_m_rp_1/262-4678375-3030962?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07SGY6D5L&pd_rd_r=bd28e96e-a9e2-46a9-88e4-16891f774e35&pd_rd_w=P2Bka&pd_rd_wg=OvYQ6&pf_rd_p=8e3f4c53-52ee-45da-9b47-05dc5b7c20aa&pf_rd_r=ZN98X4XV3FN55B93QNBX&psc=1&refRID=ZN98X4XV3FN55B93QNBX]]

I've attached a pic of the drawer so far too, they seem really good organisers and I've still got 4 of the little left. I went for vests in two and sleepsuits in other two. The little are socks and bibs. Not the best photo though!

@Prettylittlelady welcome and congrats 😻

Not sure how I'm going to work from Tuesday. I seem to do 5 minutes of work then need to rest for 10. Roll on September 😅

blankiesandunicorns · 14/06/2020 17:38

Welcome @Red3232 and @Prettylittlelady!

Iv found my feet have start really hurting if I walk a lot, could the heat but I'm annoyed as I'm pretty fit! Think I need some more comfy sandals. I'm hoping they're not swelling already don't remember swelling at all with my first.

How is everyone? Nice to hear about the pram buying, I'm not organised at all!

CharlieBalf · 14/06/2020 17:53

Missed the post about the new thread and just posted on the old one about reusable nappies 😂
Anyone out there thinking of using that system?
Welcome @Prettylittlelady I'm on team yellow 💛

Prettylittlelady · 14/06/2020 18:02

Thank you for the welcomes Smile

It seems like everyone is far more organised than me - I’m 22+4 today and have bought absolutely nothing! So possibly need to get a move on, I’m thinking I want to wait until 24 weeks...

@CharlieBalf I’m considering using reusable nappies but I need to do a lot more research first

Treacle81 · 14/06/2020 18:07

Have you all washed your baby clothes? If so did you just use your usual detergent and softener? @Quiffy that looks great! 🙌🏻xx

Treacle81 · 14/06/2020 18:22

@CharlieBalf love the pram and the basset hound 🥰 I’ll be just sticking to normal nappies xx

Treaclepie19 · 14/06/2020 18:26

@Treacle81 we will wash them, with fairy non bio and comfort pure.

OP posts:
FourPlasticRings · 14/06/2020 18:32

Checking in. Hi all.

@CharlieBalf I'll be using cloth nappies after the initial newborn phase. It's nice to have the disposable nappies for the wetness indicator in the early days when people are perceptually asking how many wet nappies they're making a day. I'll probably stick with reusables then until the weaning poos start. That's what we did with DD. Didn't use them after that because they seemed to impede movement. Though I think I'm going to do a bit of elimination communication with this one to try and get the new one potty trained faster. Just managed to get DD potty trained before she turned two and I'd like to get this one trained earlier so I can use fewer disposables.

FourPlasticRings · 14/06/2020 18:32

*perpetually not perceptually

CharlieBalf · 14/06/2020 18:33

@Treaclepie19 I'll be using fairy non bio too for all clothes and linens, oh and nappies 😂
We have two bassets, they are adorable I highly recommend the breed!

CharlieBalf · 14/06/2020 18:39

@FourPlasticRings sou ds like a good plan, I think we'll follow the same pattern, potty training by 2 is a good time frame to aim for but I'll have to do some reading up on how to manage that!

FourPlasticRings · 14/06/2020 18:52

@CharlieBalf you don't need much groundwork to train by two tbh, most of them are capable by that point. We just decided to do it in lockdown, bought a guide and went with it. With elimination communication you can get them trained from anytime after they learn to walk, apparently, so I think I'll give that a go, hopefully shave off a few months this time around.

BntTowers · 14/06/2020 19:15

@Prettylittlelady welcome, I'm due the 15th so nearly buddies there.

@Quiffy the drawer dividers are a good idea, must get some.

@CharlieBalf we want to use resuasable, but like others have said and through research I think we are going to stick with disposals for the first 6 weeks(ish) then make the switch. Think I'll check our council nappy library first to see what styles/ brands we links.

DH has nearly finished setting up the chest of drawers. I strictly supervised.

NWnature · 14/06/2020 20:40

@otterbaby brill re mokee. I think they look lovely too!

@autumnwinterbaby excellent thanks for confirmation re the mokee. Loads of people seem to have bugaboos so I hope that means they are generally quite good and reliable!

@LexiM this is so helpful thanks! I’ve bitten the bullet and ordered the cloud Z and base eeeek!! I know what you mean in terms of expense and whether I’ll actually use the lie flat.

Welcome to the new ladies! This group is great. Everyone is so nice and helpful!!
Also the reusable nappy chat is great, I want to do the same, start out with disposables but try and transition across. The modern designs seem more promising than the towelling and safety clips my mum used!!

Winterbobble · 14/06/2020 21:25

Hi ladies!

Can I please join this thread too I am due October 6th - first baby and we are having a girl 💕

How is everyone? Have you started buying things?

Lots of discussion on prams - I am not sure which bits are essential as thinking we won’t be out much as it will be winter?! Is it worth ditching Pram and getting a buggy once baby is a few months old?
