Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

Hahaha @emvy !

When I was pregnant before the first sign I had was the inability to be around small children! They annoyed me so much to the point I wanted to cry! I got it a week before a positive test. I’ve never tested early before, always 4-7 days after missed period!

I’m not stressed about it at all! It is what it is :) :) I have no further spotting and ofd cramp here and there :) Not to worry, haha I have a beautiful 3 year old, who I adore. My husband does not live with us anyway usually as he lives in a yoga centre in India 😂😂

Alrowley · 09/06/2020 17:30

@emvy Yes periods every 28 days, never changed since they started!

I was using Ovulation sticks and got the peak on the 27th of May. So today is 13 DPO. Period due today or tomorrow!

With the first i had brown spotting and cramps for first 8 weeks but since it was a surprise and we’d only been dating 5 months, there was no stress to it, we just held out and watched what happenend!

Arrowcat · 09/06/2020 17:38

Can I join? Long time lurker first joiner.
I'm currently due around 3rd Feb.
Second child and already had to tell work as sickness so bad!!
Sure someone's already said this but cramping often related to implantation pain?

katiemc89 · 09/06/2020 20:03

@NicJayne1 I’m doing well thanks. Managed to get myself booked into the hospital I was hoping for, they offer NIPT for downs/Edwards/Patau syndromes which I really feel I need the reassurance. Feel much less anxious now. How is your anxiety today? X

@Arrowcat everyone is welcome Hun. Congratulations. Sorry about the sickness though - that really sucks. Hopefully it eases off. I’ve had some cramping, felt like a heavy period. It’s dying down now though, more twinges which I hope is ok 😬 xx

@katiemc89 that's really good, I'm glad you are booked in too.

I've kept myself busy so anxiety isnt too bad. I have cramps (I have them every day and especially at night) but feeling fine apart from that xx

NicJayne1 · 09/06/2020 20:11

Hi,

Does anyone find your symptoms mainly happen at the same time of day?

I get cramping every day but gets worse especially in the evening. Anyone else?

Alrowley · 09/06/2020 20:59

I’m currently having cramps (which i never had with periods) Always worse on an evening when resting :)

No spotting now really but it can be normal as everything starts to
stretch early on!

I had cramps and brown / redish spotting for 8 weeks with 1st child!

NicJayne1 · 09/06/2020 22:46

@Alrowley this is exactly the same with me x

Alrowley · 10/06/2020 06:28

@NicJayne1 I have brown stringy discharge/spotting like I did with my 1st, at the exact time my period is due! haha Cramping has subsided now :D

EssJayyCee · 10/06/2020 18:15

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?
Have you had any new symptoms?

I am 4weeks+3 today and I have been knackered this week!! I thought 4 weeks would have been too early to be this tired but apparently not!
Also my boobs are huge and my areola are like flying saucers! My cramps seem to have stopped for now as well. I hope that's not an issue!

I did another test today at 17dpo and the line progression is so good compared to my original one! First is 13dpo second is 17dpo.

In my pregnancy before I never had such a strong second line! I'm excited now.

Hiii @EssJayyCee

Such a good line progression! Makes it all feel more real when you see it get darker I think. I've just bought some more clear blue tests with the weeks on there. I think I'm 5 weeks today so hoping when I test tomorrow it'll show 3+.

I've also been super tired the last few days but it's not so bad as working from home at the mo.

Today I have had some weird twinges on my right side which worry me a bit but definitely not painful so going to try not to worry about it just yet! I think I might just be imagining it 😂

CWF123 · 10/06/2020 19:57

Hi All,

Congratulations to you all, hope it's okay for me to join! I'm 29 I found out just over two weeks ago due around 3rd Feb ... still waiting for my first initial appointment it's my first baby... me and my partner were so excited and shocked when we found out I wanted to tell everyone I was that happy (I held back) but all of a sudden I'm filled with anxiousness and can't stop crying, Iv lost my excitement had anyone else felt like this? Does it come back?
Iv always wanted to have a baby so it's so unexpected to feel this way!
Thanks :)

VAM24 · 10/06/2020 20:54

Hi @CWF123 😊

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Im so sorry you feel so worried, I think it's quite normal to be anxious - it's such a scary time especially at the moment where appointments don't seem to be happening until later on, the waiting seems to make it even worse.

Have you been feeling this worried for a while? It might be worth calling the midwife/gp and letting them know maybe they can do something to help.

If it makes you feel any better I'm also nervous every day and so struggling to be excited even though this is such a wanted baby! I am trying to stay positive and distract myself and have also booked an early scan for 8 weeks but not sure if that will help or make me worse.

Hope you are able to relax a little bit and enjoy your pregnancy, fingers crossed it all goes well 😊

sshl · 10/06/2020 21:02

@VAM24 your early scan you have booked is that a private thing you've booked?

VAM24 · 10/06/2020 21:05

@sshl yep a private one. I think the nhs will only do them early if an emergency like bleeding or after more than 3 miscarriages.

I wanted to wait for the 12 week one but I'm driving myself mad with worry so hoping it'll help to put my mind at ease.

sshl · 10/06/2020 21:08

@VAM24 it sounds like a good idea. Having to wait for maybe another 10 weeks feels so far away. The midwife said to me it'd likely be at 12-14 weeks I'm just over 4 weeks so feels like so far away.
I'll have a look online. Thanks x

CWF123 · 10/06/2020 21:11

Thanks for the reply @VAM24 Iv only found out just over two weeks ago... I was so excited and wanted a baby for so Long (this wasn't planned) but I was over the moon, and all of a sudden I just feel blank and all the excitement has gone and I have NO idea why? It's such an unsettling feeling. I spoke with the midwife today and she said it will be my harmonies and explained this is normal especially in a 1st pregnancy and said some people don't get excited until their 12 week scan... it's just an odd feeling I never anticipated I would feel like this Iv always wanted to be a mum...I just hope it's down to being stuck at home and everything else that's going on making me feel unsettled and not being able to see family ect... x

CWF123 · 10/06/2020 21:12

@VAM24 I'm sure everything will go okay at your scan sounds like a good idea I might do that myself once Iv seen my midwife for my initial bloods :) thanks for you support I was so nervous to even write how I felt

VAM24 · 10/06/2020 21:13

@sshl the waiting is sooo long! I haven't heard from the midwives at all yet, had to self refer online and they said they'll contact me before 12 weeks to arrange an appointment which feels like aaaaages away.

One good thing about private scans is also that partners can go whereas I think in most nhs hospitals you have to go alone because of covid. They can be quite expensive though 😔

VAM24 · 10/06/2020 21:15

@CWF123 thanks 😊 hopefully after 12 week scans we will all feel loads better and be able to enjoy it x

CWF123 · 10/06/2020 21:20

@VAM24 definitely I hope I get all excited again and the anxiousness eases! Such a big change for our bodies and so many hormones suppose it's normal to feel this way.
I called my local birthing unit and I have an appointment at 8/9 weeks for initial bloody then should have a scan between 12-14 weeks... maybe have a look at that as you should be seen once before 12 weeks... I didn't go though my doctor at all x

sshl · 10/06/2020 21:59

@VAM24 how much are they? It does feel like so so far away!

O that's good about the partner being able to go I feel so bad if he can't be at the first scan and I'll feel really sad he's not there x

ChunkyButFunky87 · 10/06/2020 22:11

@Alrowley no, still waiting to test, I had no more left and my Amazon order doesn't come til Friday Sad AF is still not here and officially late. Keeping fingers crossed.

How's your cramping?
