Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

Can I tentatively join? I’m just over 9 weeks, technically due 1st March but my other 2 children both arrived at 39 weeks so I reckon I’ll be having a feb baby. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to join another thread, I was due Christmas Day and was on a Christmas babies thread but miscarried at 7 weeks, it was a bit shit having to bow out. I had a scan at 8 weeks last week and everything seemed fine so I’m feeling slightly more confident now. I never bothered with private scans with my other children and didn’t really worry much at all apart from the split second at the start of the 12 week scan before they show you the screen (while they find they heartbeat).

CWF123 · 29/07/2020 20:38

I had my scan today! All is okay I'm further along than I thought baby is growing well and I'm actually due end Jan but could go over anyway!
Can't even explain how amazing it was to see the baby on the screen moving and wriggling about I feel like the happiest girl in the world today!

Kwmac · 29/07/2020 22:09

@CWF123 ah that’s so amazing! Glad it went well, hopefully you can relax and enjoy now. I’m counting down the hours now, hopefully I have good news like you!

I went out for a family dinner tonight. I was nearly crying my jeans were digging in me so much. Mostly a lot of bloat. Im fine in the morning but the evenings are horrific. I really don’t want to wear maternity jeans so early on but nothing fits me anymore! Has anyone else had to give in to maternity stuff?

KW4816 · 30/07/2020 07:19

It’s lovely to read the positive experiences happening as well as the symptoms we are all sharing, it can be reassuring Smile

I am still suffering with bloating but not half as bad, I was taking Pregnacare Max and I’ve switched to just a folic acid/vit d supplement for now and it seems to have worked. I still can’t comfortably do up my jeans though! Nausea is worst in the evenings but my appetite is all over the place, especially with drinks I pretty much only have icy water or orange juice. I had some break outs which I never usually suffer with.

I had my booking appointment this week and my scan is on 13th, I can’t wait, trying to remain positive and look forward to telling our family and friends! Smile

CWF123 · 30/07/2020 08:00

@Kwmac thank you definitely a lot more chilled and less worried now I know all is okay!!
Iv ordered some maternity jeans off Topshop they have a decent sale in there maternity bits! Iv gone for the same size jeans but haven't tried them yet.... Iv been wearing my normal jeans the holding them in with a bobble as they don't close 😂😂😂
I'm sure you scan will go just as good! It's the most amazing feeling

lydiangel83 · 30/07/2020 21:39

@Kwmac I caved in and got my maternity clothes out at 12 weeks! I am so much bigger all over than last time (this is second baby) and I couldn't be bothered to fight it lol. Wasn't in maternity clothes until about 18-2 wks last time!

Kwmac · 01/08/2020 09:27

Had my 12 week scan yesterday and all good! So amazing to see how much it has grown since my early scan at 8 weeks. A proper baby! Measuring exactly on my dates so 12 weeks and 2 days today. Baby due 11th Feb. So relieved everything is ok! Grin

EmBrum · 02/08/2020 00:21

Hello, welcome to the newbies and great to hear about a couple of good scans too. My next one is on Monday so very nervous but hopefully all still ok as we had a good one at 8 weeks. Now 13 weeks. Will be my first time out the house in weeks though- still really ill with HG (haven't had to go to hospital but it's still been so so grim). Hope you're all ok x

CWF123 · 02/08/2020 17:44

@Kwmac aww that's such good news! Glad all is okay!

@EmBrum oh sorry to hear your suffering with HG hope the sickness eases soon for you.... x

EmBrum · 03/08/2020 22:45

Thanks @CWF123 - new meds are helping and made it to our scan today. This is the one I booked at private clinic because hubby isn't allowed to nhs one on Friday. All looking good today and baby was wriggling and waving and strong heartbeat ❤ dates moved forward a bit - due 6th Feb now instead of 8th.
Best of luck to everyone else with scans coming up.

Jonsey1987 · 08/08/2020 19:44

It's taken me ages to find this thread again - It doesn't take long before it expires! Hope your all still well? I'm still 11 days away from my 13 week scan! Time is flying tho x

EmBrum · 08/08/2020 20:10

Anyone else having to be rescanned as they couldn't get measurements at dating scan? I think there are delays in my area and the dating scan are taking place too late meaning that babies are too active! - I went to my NHS one yesterday at 13+6 and baby was all over the place - standing up and back facing us and not able to take measurements. So being rescanned on Tuesday. This happened to lots of the women at this community centre yesterday so think babies get too active nearer week 14!

wannabe123 · 10/08/2020 13:25

I had my 12 week scan today and I think baby was asleep at the start as they were very still so the sonographer managed to get some good measurements and then she woke them up and didn't stop moving for the rest of the scan! It was so amazing to see the baby moving around! I'd had a scan at 9 weeks and the difference is incredible, no wonder I've been so tired!

Jonsey1987 · 10/08/2020 14:09

So glad to hear guys! Exciting!

SLC91 · 13/08/2020 11:42

Hi All, had my scan yesterday and am 13weeks 3 days along - baby due on the 15th February!

Extremely fidgety baby, wouldnt stay still, had a little yawn during the scan and it was so incredible, finally settled down to get some good photos so really pleased! It was so exciting!!

It actually finally feels real now :)

EmBrum · 13/08/2020 12:03

Wonderful news - congratulations @SLC91

Summerrp · 13/08/2020 13:16

Hey all, had my scan today and everything looks perfect. I thought I was 12weeks 6 days but I'm dating 13 weeks 6 days. Baby was being really cheeky sucking thumb and hiding from all measurements.
I feel so happySmile

elfran · 13/08/2020 13:28

So cute @Summerrp I bet you're happy to have "skipped ahead" a week!

I had my scan on Monday and all went well, I was particularly impressed that the results from my combined screening were processed same day and uploaded to the Maternity Notes app within 6 hours! Continually impressed with our NHS, even in these hard times.

I did overdo it on the water beforehand; my sonographer had me go wee because she "was in pain just looking at my bladder!" Grin

Summerrp · 13/08/2020 13:42

Ha ha I was the same she sent me out mid scan to empty the bladder... I was glad because I was close to busting with the pressure she was applying (never realised they had to press to hard) I was up to all sorts of acrobats on the table trying to shift the baby 🤣 not very glamorous

Summerrp · 13/08/2020 21:22

Oh wow so after an amazing scan today I was just relaxing on the sofa and felt my first movement Smile Felt like a butterfly lose in my belly. Amazing!! I'm so happy x

Jonsey1987 · 13/08/2020 22:20

So happy for you guys! I've still no pregnancy symptoms (12 weeks today) just hoping my scan goes as well as yours weds! Think they will tell me I'm a few days behind too. @summerrp I'd be over the moon If I was a week in front! Hope your all feeling really lucky x

Summerrp · 14/08/2020 07:23

Oh I'm sure it will go amazing and you will feel reassuredSmile. I am feeling so blessed, this is first baby and seeing it on the screen was just a feeling of love I have never felt before .

I had a little look between legs and I think it's a boy but I shall wait and see

Poppyismyfavourite · 14/08/2020 09:21

@Summerrp I'm so jealous, I've been put back a week! Weeks 12 and 13 have lasted 3 weeks now!

CWF123 · 15/08/2020 09:51

@Summerrp wow that's such a good picture! So glad all scans are going okay, I'm 16 weeks now my symptoms finally eases and the nausea has practically gone! Hope it stays that way! They said my due date is end Jan but I could go over I was a week further along that I though aswell when I went for my scan.

@Jonsey1987 I'm sure everything will be okay and you'll feel reassured when you see the baby and that flickering heart beat.
It's amazing just gutting our partners can't share these moments with us!

We have a private gender scan booked I can't wait!

CWF123 · 15/08/2020 09:53

@elfran ... what do you mean NHS app? Can you access all your information on this?
I haven't received any of my pregnancy notes yet they said I won't get them till me 20 week scan to reduce the amount of people touching them... I didn't receive my combined screening result either as they just said they don't post letter at the moment and if I don't hear anything by a phone then presume all is okay and I'm not at risk... 🙈
