Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

Thank you, yes sad & painful but im ok, 1/2 expected it but doesn't stop it upsetting you. Best of Luck. Xx

EmBrum · 27/07/2020 04:54

@Kat5464 so very sorry for your loss - sending big hugs xx

Just had what felt like very scary seething pains all over abdomen at 4am. Got completely freaked out and cried and went to disturb hubby (im sleeping in spare room a bit with bad sickness/nausea persisting through night!)

After much panic we think it's bad trapped wind/constipation pains and has eased slightly now. Hopefully not low enough to effect baby but was very full on there for 30 minutes or so. Had visions of getting to hospital :(
Sounds ridiculous now!
Anyway, 12 weeks today, still really quite ill, working from bed and had some time off too. Scan next week 🤞🤞

Hope you're doing ok xx

Jonsey1987 · 27/07/2020 18:16

@kat5464 so sorry for your loss :(

Can I ask - does / did anyone suffer migraines badly before they were pregnant. I'm 9+ now and they've been horrid all week. Thought I'd dodged them! Some of my friends said don't take paracetamol (even tho NHS says it's safe) I'm going to ring the docs tomorrow but didn't want to go down the meds route.

CWF123 · 27/07/2020 18:38

@EmBrum glad it was all okay in the end and just trapped wind Iv seen that to be a common side affect it happens to me but really early on about 4 weeks I was petrified!

@Jonsey1987 yes I suffered with migraines really bad and was on medication it don't get them as much now though but Iv had a bad head all day today I've taken a paracetamol and it's definitely eased it.... I think it's definitely okay to have one it's ibuprofen your not allowed to take ... you could always try that roll on 4Head stuff from the chemist... are you have any caffeine in drinks or chocolate if you are they will make them worse. Iv cut it all out for now...

Jonsey1987 · 27/07/2020 18:46

@CWF123 I suffered badly before so like to think I know all of the tricks in the book. (but nothing helps and I'm willing to try anything!!! ) Friday night had the 'I'm going to die' feeling. Starting with another now... I was on prescription beta blockers but they're a no no now :( but thanks ill try anything!! I've drank at least 3l today and have eaten good meals, I've even had an hours nap... Eugh! X

KatyJayne87 · 27/07/2020 18:59

@katiemc89 Hi I’ve just discovered this thread. I’m 12 weeks pregnant today with my first baby. I have had really bad nausea and sickness since around week 5, literally feel sick from the moment I wake up until I go to bed and sometimes wake up in the night with sickness too. Has anyone else been experiencing this, and any suggestions for remedies although I feel like I’ve tried everything! I hope that as I go into my second trimester it will ease off and I can start enjoying my pregnancy! X

EmBrum · 27/07/2020 20:08

Thanks very much @CWF123

Welcome @KatyJayne87 - same dates as me. Yes I'm very ill too. I have just had a horrible bout of sickness today and it's been many weeks too. I think I'm going to need some meds. Ice lollies are good for me. Hot food smells avoiding like the plague.
I think the OP had a miscarriage btw :(
Hope you feel better soon xx

CWF123 · 27/07/2020 20:14

@Jonsey1987 I was on some tablets but not suitable to take now Iv had a horrible headache all day but not a migraine don't beat yourself up it says paracetamol is fine it's better for you and baby if your feeling better so don't suffer if you don't have to (probs won't take it away but might ease it)
This may sound silly but wet a sock and put it in the freezer once it's iced over pop it on your head that sometimes help to relieve any throbbing pain that I get ... hope you feel better soon. X

CWF123 · 27/07/2020 20:16

@KatyJayne87 Hi Katy,
I'm just over 12 weeks and have my first scan this week... have you had yours yet? I'm so excited!!
I'm still nauseous some days worse than others! I have plain crackers, ice lollies and sickness bands.
I feel bad I'm living in an beige diet at the min I can't seem to stomach much more.
Hope it eases for you soon! X

KatyJayne87 · 27/07/2020 20:17

@EmBrum thanks for your response it’s horrible isn’t it and I feel like I’m constantly moaning to my OH. It’s reassuring to hear from someone that is going through the same thing so thank you.
That is terribly sad about the OP :(
Hope you feel better soon too xx

Jonsey1987 · 27/07/2020 20:24

@CWF123 thank you.... Going in the freezer as we speak :)

KatyJayne87 · 27/07/2020 20:24

Hi @CWF123 I have my first scan on Friday which is really exciting, although my OH is really disappointed he cannot attend. I think we are going to book a private scan in between the 12 and 20 weeks so he can come. I find it so hard to know what to eat at the moment, one moment I fancy something the next the thought of it makes me feel bleugh! I’ve been nibbling on digestive biscuits when I wake up in the morning to line my stomach before I can face any other food. It’s just a waiting game really for when it will phase off but I’m hoping it will get better in the second trimester although I have read that it can sometimes go on all pregnancy Shock xx

CWF123 · 27/07/2020 20:28

@KatyJayne87 I know the feeling it's so annoying! The law has recently changed in wales and partners are allowed to attend so wish it changed her as well I'm gutted my bf can't come!
We said we will book a private scan aswell to find out the gender together :)
I'm not a fan of digestives.. but plan crackers help me. For breakfast I'm eating cereal every single day 🙈 it the only thing I can ever stomach and need to have something before I leave for work to help me! 😂

Kwmac · 27/07/2020 21:03

@KatyJayne87 i have my scan on Friday too. Getting very nervous, just hope everything is ok and can finally tell people!

I have been eating random food, I am usually pretty healthy but have been eating alot of bread and supernoodles recently. Also hula hoops Hmm

My only symptoms now are tiredness and bloat. My boob tenderness has gone in the last few days. Trying to just tell myself it is because I am 12 weeks and not that there is anything wrong!

CWF123 · 27/07/2020 21:15

@Kwmac ahh bet you can't wait! Have you not told anyone? I can't wait to tell everyone else now but I'm the same just abit anxious because want to make sure everything is okay, doesn't help having to go alone.

It's seems we are on a bit of a beige diet so that makes me feel better but I did read eating something is better than nothing hopefully the nausea eases for us all soon as we can start eating normal again 😂

wannabe123 · 27/07/2020 21:39

@Kwmac I'm the same with my symptoms. I had a scan at 9 weeks because I had had really long cycles so it was hard to work out how far along I was. I saw babies heartbeat which was amazing but it still doesn't stop me worrying! I have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks time so will hopefully feel more reassured after that.

Kwmac · 27/07/2020 22:00

@CWF123 haven't told anyone bar hubby. It was so hard at the weekend because would have been a perfect time as all our family were around but petrified incase there is something wrong don’t want them all to get excited and then be disappointed.

@wannabe123 i had a scan at 8 weeks and saw heartbeat but still feel I am not in the clear yet. Roll on Friday Grin

CWF123 · 28/07/2020 09:34

@Kwmac oh that's good you've managed to keep it a secret I had badddd anxiety at about week 4 and had to talk to friends and family I was so nervous scared excited on edge I just needed that extra support even though my bf has been amazing.... so excited for you to be able to announce though! I can't wait to share it with the rest of friends and family this weekend pending all is okay with my 12wk scan

Jonsey1987 · 28/07/2020 09:59

Im due feb / March and my scan is at 13 weeks! (19th Aug) I feel miles away from you guys. Weve told both grandparents to be. I'm so nervous I'm going to get to the scan and nothing will be there!
I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks but still so nervous! So jealous that you can all Announce it. Congrats!

Summerrp · 28/07/2020 10:38

@Jonsey1987 My scan is on the 13th I will be 12weeks 6 days. I have the very same fear. It seems silly as I have had no bleeding and have quite strong symptoms but I just cant get the fear out of my head and nothing anyone says can reassure me.

CWF123 · 28/07/2020 11:14

@Summerrp @Jonsey1987
I get you Iv got the same fear but I I just thought of the worse happened I'd need the support but let's all keep our finger crossed that we are all growing healthy babies... I haven't had an early scan so my 12 week one will be my first still absolutely gutted my bf can't come as it's our first baby.

wannabe123 · 28/07/2020 11:46

@cwf123 we're gutted too! Our hospital is allowing partners to the 20 week scan but my husband is away with work from September to December so won't be here. He's gutted.

CWF123 · 28/07/2020 11:51

@wannabe123 it's gutting isn't it! So annoyed it's happening but we can go here there and everywhere get on flights yet they can't attend I wouldn't mind but I'm in a clinic not even a hospital for my 12wk scan! So frustrating it really annoys me I just wish he could come with me....

CWF123 · 28/07/2020 11:51

@wannabe123 you could book a private scan! That would be nice! X

wannabe123 · 28/07/2020 12:48

@cwf123 yes I think we are going to. I think we're going to book it for the end of August ☺️
