@LoveSunshine01 I know, I'm all giddy at the thought, spent a fair bit of yesterday on Amazon looking up the books that I read as a child!! So exciting! 😍

calipoppy · 23/06/2020 12:31

I've also just had a random call from the midwife for 16 week appointment, I thought I had it booked for 2 weeks time! 😂 it's so funny I guess these appointments would be more of a chat if they were in person, they seem a bit weird over the phone!

She gave me a date for my 28 week appointment which seems so far away but I bet it'll fly! Really feel like everything's a bit more real the last week or so! ❤️

SettyBuarez · 24/06/2020 17:09

Hi everyone, hope you're ok in this heat!

Just had my 16 week appointment, 2 days early. Couldn't book in my 25 week one as she said the system didn't go that far. I've got my next scan, the GTT, and the anti-D injection all booked though.

Just on Waterstones looking at children's books. Thought I felt something that could have been movement the other day but I've not felt it since so maybe it was and maybe it wasn't!

calipoppy · 24/06/2020 18:40

I haven't felt any movement the last couple of days, but my bump is growing a lot so I'm thinking maybe there's more amniotic fluid now and that's why I can't feel it... that's totally me making this up haha but I read somewhere most people feel the baby move once they've moved upwards to around your belly button 🤷‍♀️

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 07:39

Morning girls ❤️

Sorry I've been quiet for some reason I haven't had any notifications for this group and I only realised last night whilst attempting to sleep 😂

I am so glad I'm no further on than I am I could not cope being heavily pregnant in this heat 😷 so thankful for a winter baby 😂

Has anybody started buying yet? Our pram has finally been paid for after weeks of trying to decide, we had one on order we loved and when we went to see it again I didn't like it 🙈

Counting down the days until my gender scan 9 left ❤️💙
Hope your all doing ok xx

emmalily9 · 25/06/2020 07:49

@Rnic1x are you going on the 4th? If so that's when we're going. Can't wait. Wish I'd booked it for this weekend now!

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 07:50

@emmalily9 yes 4th, we should have booked it for this weekend but the only time they had was 7.30pm and we love 2 hours away so would have been waiting around all day and late home, so it's 4th at 9.30 then we have all day in Manchester too 🙌

Bumble84 · 25/06/2020 07:55

@rnic1x what pram did you end up getting? We are going looking next weekend and hope to have a shortlist by then. I’ve done lots of looking and reading reviews. We want a travel system that’s unisex and possibly one that converts to a double in case we are lucky enough to have another baby shortly after this one.

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 07:59

@bumble84 we went in for the silver cross Pioneer eclipse but when I saw it again I didn't like it... We've gone for the venicci tinum and I love it 🙌 xx

Pea1984 · 25/06/2020 08:00

I’ve also got a scan on the 4th - can’t wait!

Nic2908 · 25/06/2020 08:05

Morning guys I'm trying not to buy anything until after the 20 week scan but having a little mooch around. I quite like the mamas and papas ocarro but no idea at all yet. We have a scan booked for the 30th (Tuesday) cant come soon enough. Cant wait to see our baby again. It's my birthday in august so going to ask for vouchers for the local scan place and so I can hopefully get a few extra ones in later on.

december2020 · 25/06/2020 08:16

Morning everyone
I'm currently tempted by the Uppababy Vista or Cruz. But feel like I need to see some prams in person to "test drive" and no stores like that are open in my area yet. Who knew picking a pram was so complex? 😐

Anyone else getting a bit impatient to find out the gender? 3 weeks to go and it feels so far away!

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 08:32

@december2020 we looked at vista too but the base seemed very big and bulky compared to a lot, was a lovely pram though xx

Bumble84 · 25/06/2020 09:06

@rnic1x the vennici does look nice, I’ve seen that one and I think it’s a slightly cheaper price point than the silver cross. @december2020 my friend had the vista. Really nice looking pram but would fit in my golf which I was surprised at but I think you can buy a city version which has a narrower wheel base.

@Nic2908 I’m with you on that! We’re just going looking next week to get an idea. My 20 week scan is on the 4th.

I’ve still not had my bloods back for the screening tests yet either and that was last Wednesday. I keep checking the app and it just says ‘not published’ the midwife told me if something was wrong I’d probably hear within a week so hopefully all is good!

djmbaker · 25/06/2020 09:17

Morning girls!
Exciting that we are now on pram and gender talk!! The baby kit world is mind blowing I can't believe how many options there are for each thing 😬😬😬
I haven't really given it much thought but I'm a bit behind some of you, I'm 14 weeks on Friday.. got a private scan Sunday so I've got the pre scan jitters now. Hope everything is ok still.

@Rnic1x I am totally with you, this heat is killing me off now!! Thank god we will be heavily pregnant when it's cold. It's mad, I'm always cold but now.. at only 13 weeks I am getting so hot so quickly!! I now sleeping with a fan and I've raided my mums wardrobe and stolen her linen dresses 😂😂

Anyone else suffering with spots??? I've got what can only be described as BOILS on my cheeks. Horrid 😭

I've woke up today, for the first time in forever and feel ok.. I'm a bit headachey and still tired but I feel like I can do a bit more which is nice. Nausea is calm today.. 🙏🏻 pray it's stays that way!

djmbaker · 25/06/2020 09:18

@Bumble84 I haven't had my screening tests back and that was two weeks ago! I asked my midwife and she said she's on leave until the 2nd of July so I need to just wait 😬😬 wondering if I should call the hospital and ask???

emmalily9 · 25/06/2020 09:30

@djmbaker @Bumble84 I had thought I wasn't going to hear about the blood tests until my 16 week appointment but then last weekend I got a letter through the post with the results. It had taken long as it appears to have gone to a regional lab not just the hospital one. Fingers crossed you get the results soon

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 09:31

My screening results were posted to me the week after my test x

djmbaker · 25/06/2020 09:37

Yeh they told me at my dating scan it's taking up to 2 weeks due to covid .. and that if I get a call within 5 days it's because something is wrong.. but they said my midwife will get the results before I get a letter anyway so I was hoping she could just say "all clear" but no... 🤷🏻‍♀️

SarH89 · 25/06/2020 09:39

It’s so exciting browsing prams and all the other baby bits. Slightly overwhelmed with how much choice there is!

@djmbaker I can relate to getting spots, seem to wake up with a new batch everyday at the moment. Im finding a tiny bit of Sudocrem helps but its a little drying on the skin.

Marshmallow1102 · 25/06/2020 09:40

@djmbaker Yes to the spots 😭 I've had plenty of them throughout and I'm not normally a spotty person! I'd normally get a few little hormonal ones on my chin every few months around when I'm due on. But now they've been cropping up in all kinds of places, had a cluster near my eyebrow that survived for about a month, currently got one on my cheek... They're driving me nuts, when does the glowing start??

I've been looking at prams but purely online. For us it's most important so get something light and small because I am not very strong and we don't have a big hall to store it in. Also I don't really want to spend £800+ if I don't have to. Was looking at the iCandy raspberry because it fulfilled the brief and was reduced to clear in John Lewis, but it's gone out of stock now and I would need to pay an extra ~£200 to buy it elsewhere. It's not really a problem, think grandparents will probably buy it anyway, but it's made me grumpy that I missed a good deal 😂

Bumble84 · 25/06/2020 09:51

@djmbaker I was told, you’ll hear within 2 weeks but if there’s something wrong you’ll likely hear within a week so I’m just going for the no news is good news. I’m 35 though so I can’t help but be a bit more anxious.

@marshmallow1102 same! I’d be quite happy to take a 2018 model if I could get a good deal and it had what I needed with it. I’m finding I see a good deal but then realise it doesn’t come with car seat or isofix or both and to buy them separate is probably about another £300!

djmbaker · 25/06/2020 09:51

They are so expensive aren't they 😂 and soooo many options!! You have to test drive I've been told by my mummy friends.. my partner thinks it's hilarious that I need to test drive a pram.

I've had a bit of a sad time with baby stuff though, but of a long story here but.. my parents don't like my partner for some unknown reason that nobody can get to the bottom of.. it's gone on for years and we just live our lives and ignore it.. but I thought the prospect of a baby may bring everyone together?? My half sister has two children and they worship them, my parents bought everything for them, the prams etc.. they buy their school shoes every year, set up a saving fund for them (you get the picture..) but my mum (I'm her only child) told me the other day that my dad has said they won't be doing that for my child.. We have to buy it all ourselves. Which, is fine.. plenty of people do.. but it's hurt me so much. I can't tell my partner really as it just adds to the fire, so I apologise for sharing to you all 😭 they said "well, I'm sure Jordan can afford it all?" Which I just think is a huge dig!! So yes.. that's my sorrowful story 😂 sorry just needed to share...

Bumble84 · 25/06/2020 10:00

@djmbaker that’s a real shame, especially since you are your Mums only child. Did something happen in the past and they just got it in their heads? Maybe they don’t think he’s good enough for you but even if that’s the case they do still really need to accept that you’ve chosen him and they shouldn’t really be treating you any differently. Completely understand you being upset by it

Rnic1x · 25/06/2020 10:07

@djmbaker aww that's awful, even if something did happen surely if your happy and your both bringing a baby into the world they should be happy for you and put everything else aside :( for them to buy everything for your step sister but not you isn't fair, if anything they should be treating you better as your the only child on your mams side 😞 what would they do if you couldn't afford it all, just see you struggle :( xx
