Hey guys! Had the worst week going. Was working on Tuesday when I fainted, got rushed to hospital where they've discovered a blood clot on my heart!
I'm finally out on blood thinning injections.

They wanted to do an ultrasound to check baby, everything was absolutely fine! Can't believe the change already! Actually looks like a little baby now!
2 weeks on Monday and we'll know what baby is!

Morning girls took a long while to catch up this time! About 3 pages worth!

I've been keeping quite well had lots more energy so been doing longer dog walks(when it's not been 30 degrees) and also managed to do a strength workout yesterday. Realising that after not doing anything for weeks my muscles aren't used to it and I ache from head to toe today!

I'm sorry to hear about those who are having family issues that really sucks. I don't have the best relationship with my FIL but I find just generally avoiding him works best 🤣. And I don't speak to my dad at all but he lives abroad so that makes it easier to not worry about bumping into him!

Also went shopping for the first time yesterday and bought some cute little sleep suits I couldn't resist and starting getting some ideas for furniture. Thinking I'm gonna do the mamas and papas personal shopping a little later in the pregnancy to get ideas!

Got my 16 week app on 14th (over the phone) and 20 week scan 7th August!

Other than that not much to share ☺️ hope you girls are good! Also can see this 3rd thread is nearly full! We will be on thread 4 soon!

@LoveSunshine01 I know she definitely meant nothing by it, I’m just really sensitive about my weight in general and it got me thinking that people will be looking at me over the next months and judging how big my bump is and what not and it just makes me feel a bit paranoid.

@Natt99 I had my 16 week today and it was face to face so there's still hope! She basically asked how much the due date had changed, checked my test results, discussed the anti-D injection with me (not everyone will need this), tested my urine and checked my blood pressure. She then booked my 25 week and that was it 😂

Natt99 · 26/06/2020 21:41

Wow the 16 week appointments really do vary don't they!
Mine was booked at my booking in appointment but I don't know if it's face to face still or has changed to phone as midwife mentioned it's likely to change to phone.
I heard they don't do much at it except measure blood pressure and urine.

I've had some funny comments recently now that we've seen more people in person. My husbands step mum asked if I was planning on giving up work after the baby's born 😂 and quite a few people have asked how long we've been trying for which is a bit TMI!

I've got my 16 week appt next friday, I had to call up after my 12 week scan to book it.

@Bumble84 maybe she was just looking for something to say or a way to start a conversation about the pregnancy? If you haven't noticed a bump I doubt anyone else could!

Our trust is not doing 16 week appts at all, they are doing them at the same time as the 20 week scan.

I’ve got my 16 week one with the consultant and was given it at the time of my booking in but I guess everywhere is different.

My neighbour just said I look like I have a very neat bump and I didn’t even think I had a bump. I wasn’t expecting people to say things like that at 14weeks 😢

My 16 week appointment via phonecall should of been yesterday, didn’t hear anything so txt the midwife who did my booking in and still not heard 😅

My midwife also said I need to call and arrange the 16 week appointment while I had the booking in appointment. It seems it's different depending where you are.

This week has been awful work-wise, I'm so happy it's the weekend. May even treat myself to a cool bath and alcohol free beer before the husband gets home.

My midwife just said she will be in touch nearer the time? I'm only 14 weeks so I have a bit of time yet. She knows I have a private scan Sunday so she said we can wait until after that.

I'd ring if your close to 16 weeks! Won't do any harm 😍

My midwife also told me to call the surgery to arrange my 16 week appointment at my booking in appointment. I’ve also got a load of extra notes to now take along that the hospital have sent in the post.

@viixie Mine told me at the booking appointment to get in touch after the dating scan and she'd arrange it. It probably varies massively between trusts though. Might be worth getting in touch with your midwife/GP surgery to remind them on.

@djmbaker @Bumble84 good to hear for both of you. I was told on Monday at the quad blood test that if I'd not heard in 2-3 days then it was a low risk result so I'm hoping all is well as I was giving it until the end of today to hear.

Did your midwives phone you to book 16 week appointments ? I'm 16 weeks on Wednesday and haven't heard a thing ?

Bumble84 · 26/06/2020 18:24

@djmbaker I got mine today too and all low risk 😃

I’ve just been literally living in my leggings and a t-shirt. I feel like I’ll be wearing this till Christmas! Plus it’s not that warm up here in Scotland. We had two days of sun so that’ll be our summer done and dusted 😂😂

Finally got my screening results today!! All low risk so that's a relief. The numbers are still scary though aren't they?? Seeing it written down in black and white 😬

Hope everyone is ok today... I definitely must have started to expand.. I've got a maxi dress on that I wear on holiday and it's got a little zip at the back, I managed to get it up but.. I'm currently stuck in it waiting for Jordan to come home to unzip it 😂😂😂😂

Just had a call from my midwife to let me know they have changed my 16 weeks appointment to be face to face and I can't wait now. The day before I'll have the gender scan too so its going to be an exciting couple of days!!
Hope everyone is coping well with the heat 🙂

@december2020

I've got a really attractive moustache shaped dark mark on my top lip 😂 I sort of had it before when I tan but it is so so much darker now!!

Yeah I would ask the midwife, I also thought it was only bits that had been in the sun. Pregnancy does weird stuff...

That is awesome @LoveSunshine01 !

Is anyone else getting weird skin pigment changes?
I have had weird darker skin patches appear on the left side of my back (none itchy).
But also in places on my back that haven't been in direct sunlight and only on the left side. Also nothing on my face (yet)!
Will ask midwife next week for 16 week telephone appointment but wtf! I was thinking melasma but that seems to be commonly on your face and from direct sunlight 🤷‍♀️

That’s great news @LoveSunshine01

I’ll probably tell work next week. I’ve still got a list I’m “working through” - I’m finding it’s less people that I want to know, but more that it’s people who would be really offended that I haven’t told them. Hopefully that makes sense! So still good friends but ones I don’t get to see often.

One is also pregnant and told me at 9 weeks, so I’m sure she’ll find it weird I’ve waited to 16 weeks! But oh well, I am still finding it weird to tell people.

@calipoppy ah exciting that you felt something! I've had a couple of times where I've been 100% sure I've felt a little kick or a punch but then everything says 16 weeks plus, so I persuaded myself that it couldn't have been.... maybe it was!!

Also I had good news at work - I told my line manager and my boss that I was pregnant and was disappointed that it meant I wouldn't be able to do a new fixed term role we were planning for me cos it was the same period as my maternity leave - they've said I can still do the role, they just won't change the terms of my contract and I'll stay permanent! So I can do the first 6 months, then if the projects get extended (which is likely) I can continue with it when I come back! If not I'll just go back to my current role. Woop!
