@FirstTimeBumps I went in today but my 26 week will be by phone, which is a shame because the midwife was lovely

roarfeckingroar · 03/04/2020 10:09

16 weeks not 26**

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 12:40

@roarfeckingroar I was told at the moment I ll get my whopping cough injection with my 20 week scan so I m seemingly only having a 16 week appointment if when I have the blood tests come back there's an issue or it won't be in person.

mamavee · 03/04/2020 14:39

@FirstTimeBumps that's hilarious 🤣 I might to do the same... was due back from mat leave on Monday. I'll be rocking up for a few weeks before I'm off again at this rate 🙈

@Mc3209 @roarfeckingroar I did the Chinese old wives tale predictor for my boy and it was right. This one says girl so we'll see! Bit of fun, like you say 😊

@1990shopefulftm That's a brilliant idea - I'll have to do the same if we're still in this predicament when we hit the 20 week scan.

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 14:41

@mamavee keeping my fingers crossed this will be over by then though.

roarfeckingroar · 03/04/2020 15:25

@1990shopefulftm that's interesting. What is the 16 week usually for? The usual GP appointments have been moved to the hospital around here.

@mamavee off to do Chinese old wives now Grin

DressingGown87 · 03/04/2020 15:51

@1990shopefulftm sure they will let you ask lots of questions, I know I will be! Sure they will also write it down for you. Hopefully by June some of the restrictions will be lifted.

@roarfeckingroar I would guess at a girl too. 🙈 can’t say I’ve ever guessed before, to know if I’m right using the Chinese old wife theory.

I’ve just been for a walk, midwife warned me by blood pressure is low, but needed to get out the house. Went out, went light headed, fell over, cut both legs and hands open. Now they won’t stop bleeding, because my blood is so thin from my injections. So back home, at a loss!

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 16:08

@DressingGown87 oh no have you got a first aid kit at all? If not get an old towel and keep pressure on it and try to keep your legs elevated, that might slow down the bleeding.

I ve got a coordination disorder, only mildly but one positive is I learnt how to do first aid so I d be calm doing it on myself.

@roarfeckingroar to discuss blood test results, check blood pressure and a urine test. If I get any signs to worry about my blood pressure, I ll send DH out get a cheap machine , I used them loads of times on other people in my previous job so I don't mind doing it on myself.

DressingGown87 · 03/04/2020 17:03

@1990shopefulftm thank you! I put pressure on them for a while, stopped bleeding, bathed in hot water, and put antiseptic on. Take it easy now. My friend who is a nurse has suggested I get a BP machine. One of the cuts is quite deep, but will ask my on hand nurse later if it’s ok, or will need stripping. 🙈 stick to Laps around the garden I think!

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 17:34

@DressingGown87 sounds like you've done everything you can for it. Blood pressure machines are pretty easy to learn to use, could be worth getting one.

Mc3209 · 03/04/2020 18:23

@DressingGown87 pressure is the best thing at stopping bleeding. Where are the cuts? Once it stops, gently clean and approximate the edges, try using normal plaster to hold it together perpendicular to the cut, not along/over it. Please take care, hun, especially with low BP. 😘

FirstTimeBumps · 03/04/2020 18:50

@DressingGown87 are they fragmin injections you're on? I had them after my last csection and will be pleading with the consultant this time for an alternative. Absolutely hated them. Hope you're okay.

Flora20 · 03/04/2020 19:26

@DressingGown87 ouch, that's not nice... Hope the cuts are ok now. Mine's always really low, the dizziness can be horrible. My best moment was passing out in the middle of a school assembly when I was a student teacher... Couldn't even blame pregnancy at that point!

DressingGown87 · 03/04/2020 20:15

@1990shopefulftm thank you, will see if I can find one online. You feeling ok with you BP, know you’ve said you struggled in the past.

@Mc3209 both my knees, shin, palms of my hands. Managed to stop the bleeding, then bent down in the freezer and it started again. But got lots of pressure, and doing to take it easy. The nurse who just came to do my injections, came and checked the cuts where clear and stripped them. Thank you!

@FirstTimeBumps yes fragmin. There not nice, got to stay on them until 6 weeks after birth, because they think I have a blood disorder which caused my previous MCs. Hope you get a better alternative if it comes to it.

@Flora20 aww! One you will never forget though. Mines always been on the low side, it’s just pregnancy is making it lower, they said it’s a good sign 😞

Hope you ladies are all ok? And managing not to get cabin fever x

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 20:23

@DressingGown87 as far as I know my BP is fine, when I had problems it was after a horrendous infection that gave me a broken rib, I d just traumatised my body a bit much.

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 20:28

so since I m avoiding shops at all costs, DH went to do a big shop tonight and I asked him to get me some shower gel.
He gets back and says he got me some radox which was thoughtful, then I realised he had no clue until tonight they have a 2 in 1 men's range which he'd gotten a bottle of for me, it's not that strong smelling so I ll use it but it made me laugh.

Freddie1987 · 03/04/2020 20:48

@MamaNaz20 Really sorry to hear this news, you’re in my thoughts tonight. Take care. Xxx

Danielle95lab · 03/04/2020 20:50

Hey ladies! Had my 10 week scan, absolutely buzzing. He/she was moving around like crazy and waving at us. I'm so glad I decided to do this one last minute xxx

DressingGown87 · 03/04/2020 21:06

@1990shopefulftm that’s hilarious! At least he tried 😂 and nobody will be smelling you for a while!

@Danielle95lab aww congratulations! Glad you’ve finally got that reassurance.

1990shopefulftm · 03/04/2020 22:02

@DressingGown87 yeah I m barely going outdoors so it doesn't matter. I m not sure how I'd manage if he couldn't go out and get food for us.

DressingGown87 · 03/04/2020 22:27

@1990shopefulftm I’ve got all the local farm shops delivering my food, from milk, bread, veg etc. Which has been good, as I’ve not been able / wanting to go to the shops. I’m sure DP thinks you smell nice though ☺️

1990shopefulftm · 04/04/2020 08:33

@DressingGown87 it's wonderful that all the small businesses here have been able to do deliveries for people. Our cats has been sniffing me a lot since I found out I was pregnant so maybe the radox will stop her.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 04/04/2020 09:03

@DressingGown87 That's absolutely beautiful and am glad everything is alright with you and your baby.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 04/04/2020 09:34

Aren't you guys lucky? Not having to go out? Able to work from home?😃

Being a nurse (cardia ICU), I'm still going to work☹️☹️. It scares the hell out of me putting my family at risk and also being pregnant makes me more worry-sick.

Unfortunately, pregnant women has not been advised to stop work...and I really wish they do.

I have been forced to tell my manager about my pregnancy so i can be considered when allocating to patients (in cardiac icu it's a one nurse:one patient setting). So they do not let me look after any of our Covid-19patients ( we have 19+ves now).

The only good thing is that i can now drive to work and avoid trains as all congestion charges has been stopped for all keyworkers.

I have wished a lot of times in the last couple of the weeks that I wasn't a nurse☹️ and now am wishing i get diagnosed with gestational diabetes come 16weeks just like my last pregnancy so that i can stop work & on full pay too.🤔Atleast that's manageable.

Honestly guys, the spread of this virus is on the increase and it's deadly...people are dying!. We are all scared doing our job at the moment. Shortage of staff, beds, PPE, medications, etc. And it will worse.

I envy you all that do not have any reason to go out. But i totally advise you continue to do so.

KitKatKit · 04/04/2020 10:02

@Danielle95lab Fantastic photo, so happy for you!

@DressingGown87 Yikes, a bit late but hope you're okay after your fall.

@1990shopefulftm I did have a chuckle at the mens Radox! I also sent DH out to do the food shop this week and had to give precise details (I may or may not be really particular about food items 🙄) haha.

@UpsyDaisy1234 Wishing you well over the next few weeks Flowers
