Anyone awaiting arrival of their baby?

Hi,

My baby is due next Wednesday 8th April. Is anyone awaiting there little bundle to arrive around the same time?

Also how you feeling about the virus at such an special time for us

@oddshoesoddsocks I know how you feel I think i have heard more from family and friends more this week than i have in the past 12months lol 😆 am glad its not just me it drives mad xx

@khall84 tell me about it! And most of them don’t even include so much as a good morning! Just a ‘anything?’ Or ‘any sign?’ Or the worst ‘baba?’. I’m ignoring them atm but think I’m going to start replying with ‘morning, I’m fine thank you for asking. Uncomfortable and fed up and nervous about giving birth during a global pandemic but not too bad on the whole, thanks for checking up on me! No baby yet but I’m sure you’ll hear when she is!’ 😂

And they’re all from people who know I’d tell them anyway! Surely people know that if I’ve not text then there’s a reason?!

@OddshoesOddsocks I know its so annoying people should know not to text us as we will text them when anything happens x

Am in a really fed up mood today I have told my husband and mum to come up with something to cheer me up today from a social distance point of course as am feeling sorry fir my self and if we were on lockdown I would of went out t0 be pampered lol xx

@khall84 haha! That sounds like a plan! I hope they come up with something good, I think we deserve pampering at the moment! Dp has just made me a mega sandwich and cup of tea. I’ve just done a bit of cleaning to try and get myself moving about a bit but I think I’m done for the day now 😂 come on baby!!

@KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks no sign here so today iv just gone and bought a big pool for the garden and going to let me and the kids sit and chill in it get some sun. Exhausted was up with pains again last night but only 2 days left

My day started rubbish I just felt fed up but my husband has spent all day trying to make me feel better and my mum drove 40mins to my house to leave me some goodies in porch to also make me feel better which has worked although am in a lot of pain on my pelvis today its so sore to walk and also getting braxton hicks slightly painful today xx

@OddshoesOddsocks @KHall84 in agony atm been having contractions for about 3 hours now 4-5mins apart but it's getting near assessment stage now

I’ve felt a bit periody today but nothing major, baby has been a bit quiet all day, but I’m wondering if it’s because I’ve been on the ball so much I’ve not felt her as much. She’s had a good wiggle since dinner though so I’m not too worried, I decided to eat before ringing the midwife and I’m glad I did! I’m so ready for her to be here now, just to know she’s ok!

@KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks Down to 3mins now minute long not sure when to head to hospital still managing on my own but terrified incase it's another false start after last 2 this week

@nicciw87 have you rung them? I imagine they’ll speak to you to assess you over the phone and tell you what to do. Before they’ve said to me to come in when you can’t speak through contractions

Hello!! I had my baby!! 40+1. I had a good labour, by good I mean absolutely horrendous in terms of pain :-) but no worse than birth for any other person - straightforward, quick and so far all seems fine. Staying in overnight as she pooed in canal. Covid wise - hospital absolutely fine lovely calm and quiet, and I am in a very hard hit hospital. All staff in PPe, normal apart from that. Obviously will be concerned for a while at what we could have picked up but hopefully fine. Lovely being on the ward with no visitors. Happy my husband is at home with our daughter, win win. All in all very successful, but oh my god - ouch!!
(Gas and air only, had her within an hour of reaching hospital!)

Hi all, little man was born on the 24th April weighing a whopping 9lb 10oz. He took 37.5 hours to get here but is absolutely amazing, I had a 3rd degree tear so had to have stitches in theatre and feeling very sore but he's so worth it and being such a good boy xx

@Marshy86 congratulations and well done he us beautiful xx am so glad mother and baby doing well and I hope your tear becomes less painful very quickly for you xx

No chanfe for me all still the same am having another relaxing day today going to paint nails, and give my feet a feet mask and chill today xx

Yes I’m still here @khall84! I was so sure she was coming last night! I was up at 3.30 with pain and 2 trips to the toilet (that’s how dd2 started and she was born within 2 hours!).
I was about to wake dp up when I must’ve fallen asleep and everything stopped 😫 I’m sore this morning but it’s more like bad period pain, there’s no pattern to it 😕
Yours sounds like a good day, maybe tonight’s the night eh!

@oddshoesoddsocks that sounds promising though like things could happen today for you with my 1st mine started as bad period cramps then it went onto contractions later that afternoon so fingers crossed for you x

I think mine will be Wednesday before I have him i think another sweep tomorrow will hopefully do the trick and will have him Wed well thats what I have in my head lol

@khall84 I think my waters might have broken a little bit. I had a really weird sensation quite low down and a bit more than a trickle (but still no massive gush). I’ve had 2 pains since then so will ring the midwife soon just to let her know what’s going on. Getting the kids dressed and ready in case they need to go to my mums!
I’ll keep you posted!

That sounds like a good plan but I hope it’s sooner for you!!
