Anyone awaiting arrival of their baby?

Hi,

My baby is due next Wednesday 8th April. Is anyone awaiting there little bundle to arrive around the same time?

Also how you feeling about the virus at such an special time for us

@KHall84 I really hope so 5 days over now. I'm hoping I have at least made good progress when I go to appointment and sweep will work think if they tell me I'm still only 1cm I will cry

@nicciw87 don't forget though as its not your 1st baby that even if you are still 1cm that doesn't mean things aren't progressing as this might not happen until full blown labour

I wasn't even dilated when I went on Monday but its normal so am not to hhbg up on this bit

Your labour sounds like mine! I didn’t have an epidural as was on midwife led unit but remember looking at the door thinking yep, you’re going to have to move me to delivery, next thing I was told to get in the water. I think I was too scared to ask to be moved as it would have been a faff. I can laugh about it now.

Baby is lovely. I was running on 3-4 hours sleep and Adrenalin for first 5 days, then tiredness hit. Wer much more settled now but he has had constipation for past 3 days which has caused him so much pain and massive worry for us. We have been celebrating poos in this house!! He went in the night so he’s happy this morning.

He’s an absolute mummy’s boy which is nice.

I had completely forgotten how busy having a newborn is in that first week though. I never sat down!

Hey all still having contractions, 12 hours in now from when it began but they're coming every 6-10 minutes now, midwife advised to wait until between 3 and 10 minutes and lasting longer than 1 minute so we have the time right but not the length currently about 20-30 seconds. I've got my tens machine so measuring my the force of them by wether I need to boost the machine to get through contraction and then writing times down in book along with if I needed the boost. Frustrating as some times it's dropped down to every 20-30 mins but they have been really intense so just watching and see how I do. I've actually made us a roast chicken dinner today for lunch as I find they come faster if I'm up and doing things

Ooo exciting updates!!

I’ve got very little to report unfortunately. I’ve spent all afternoon on the ball and trying to keep moving. Baby is super low and my pelvis is really sore now- it really hurts to walk! But there’s no BH or anything, no more waters or plug. I think when she comes she’ll be super fast and unannounced like dd2 and dp will be back from work in 45 mins so if she could do it then, that would be GREAT!

Just getting really antsy now and just want her here!

@KHall84 yep had another sweep this was the third but worst one thought her hand was going to come out of my mouth lmao. Only at 2cm but least better than it was have been booked in Monday evening now for my induction but fingers crossed sweep works its magic. @Marshy86 that's great least something is happening but honestly get walking as much as u can my first was a long labour but I was in pain and nervous so was lying down a lot my mum came kicked my ass our of bed to start walking and boom contractions became more intense and he was born few hours later

@OddshoesOddsocks if you have the feeling of pressure low down maybe the baby has moved lower into position so hopefully things might happen over next few days

@nicciw87 I really hope your sweep works before Monday for you especially as you are 2cm already its a good sign xx

I have just lost a bit more plug when I have come Home from my walk so am.bouncing o ball and hoping something might happen over weekend xx

@khall84 happy bouncing! I’m still going but keep getting up for a wander round the house! I’m wondering if the ball is making the pelvic pain worse, it barely hurts when I’m on the ball but then really hurts when I stand up and eases slightly after a bit of walking.

Has anyone else has itchy boobs? Mine are quite red and itchy today but not like eczema, just a bit hot. It isn’t anywhere else, just the tops so you can see it when I’ve got a vest top on. Currently got a damp tea towel on them to soothe it a bit!

@oddshiesoddsocks how weird am exactly the same on vall am fine then stiff and hurts when I get off but OK after a few min walking maybe its not good for us after all that or its doing something for us both

My books have been fine but I never suffer with sore boobs xx

@khall84 maybe we’re on them too much! You’re always told they’re best aren’t you but I’m not so sure it is for me! Not too long to suffer it now though hopefully!

I’ve had a quick google on the boob situation, it seems quite common although I’ve never suffered before!

No change my emd I have more clary sage oil on and currently using breast pump x

@KHall84 still getting contractions but not extremely sore yet going to try and nap see if they get worse or go away

Aww ladies, so bloody close! It makes me laugh how by the end of pregnancy you’re willing pain to come.

My friend is 10 weeks pregnant with her first and terrified of giving birth. I’ve told her that by 38 weeks pregnant you will be hoping for pain. She doesn’t believe me yet.

Hi all - hope you dont mind me jumping on here but had my EDD yesterday and experiencing all sorts of weird sensations and I have no idea whats going on!

I had a sweep on Wednesday, nothing much happened until yday evening after long walk. Lower back pain, dull ache and pelvic pressure. Then after dinner my lower back pain increased so got in the bath to ease the pain, as I did so sensation of tightening/cramping from the front of my pelvis upwards over my belly roughly every 15 minutes. I definitely had stomach tightening with a couple of them but not all. Stopped after an hour or so, so I figured to go to bed and rest. Woken up at 5 today with same dull lower back ache and a couple more surges of pain - but again going from the front upwards. I think its braxton hicks because theres no consistency and dont feel my belly go 'rock hard' - but just wondering if anyone had anything simar? Also any tips for the lower back pain as this is the most uncomfortable thing at the moment! Hope youre all doing well

@totters123 welcome! Sounds like things are going in the right direction for you! No tips as I’d only suggest what you’re doing already, sorry!
It was my EDD yesterday too so we’re both now officially in the overdue club!

Welcome @Totters123. @KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks had contractions all night that eventually got down to 4 mins apart at 4am stayed that way for over an hour and were painful had to really breathe through them then started to get further apart and now all pains have stopped so disheartened starting to worry maybe this baby cuz he measuring big can't fit in pelvis properly or something stupid I know but that's the second time iv got strong regular contractions that have just stopped

Ah thank you! Well fingers crossed, tbh as its my first I havent a clue whats going on - thought it obvious once things got going but feeling like I cant make head or tail of it!

Yes officially overdue now, I also convinced myself baby would be early, which means it now feels like I've been overdue for much longer than I actually have (as my husband keeps reminding me) ! Hope things get going soon and thanks for replying

@nicciw87 ah so sorry to hear that must be so frustrating! Is it worth a call to midwife/triage to see if they can offer any advice or a check? Just sounds like things were moving along quite a lot.

Due date here!! Thought it was happening overnight as got woken at 12.45 in pain. Lasted an hour or so and then went. It’s been stressing me reading out all of your stop/starting pains and I was hoping to go down the more obvious labour route but obviously not!! I didnt realise labour was such a confusing event, i thought it was either happening or not!! Because my waters broke with my first (early) with no prior Signs i havent been through this.
Baby also seems to be quiet. No movements at all, then i just got some wiggles but nothing big. Obviously stressing about when to raise an alarm there.
And bump has dropped overnight.
Feel stressed!! Happy due date!!

@nicciw87 @OddshoesOddsocks morning no change here either same old same old am so bloody fed up now I think today am going to get my husband to not work and am gonna have a day just relaxing in bed feeling sorry for my self lol

@123456kent I’m getting very antsy about movements at the moment. I wish I’d kept a bit of a diary because I’m rubbish at recognising a pattern! I’d have a nice cold drink and a lie down and have a good bump prod and see if that gets baby wiggling, if not then definitely ring, they won’t mind but happy due day! I hope bump dropping means they’re on their way!
