@oddsocksoddshoes hope its good news and not your waters with no labour keep us updated xx

Marshy86 · 22/04/2020 09:39

Morning ladies, off for a sweep today at midwife appointment I've had the worst 24 hours, our car were broken into yesterday morning and baby hospital bag was stolen so spent yesterday making up a basic hospital bag for little man and organising both our car windows to be repaired. Hubby cut his hands open trying to get all the glass out of baby car seat and just generally really upsetting. Managed to get a replacement coming home outfit sorted and delivered today thanks to an amazing member of staff at jojo maman but backing my bag again last night was so dis heartening after we had so much fun planning for the experience prior. I hope your all ok and sending lots of happy thoughts xxx

nicciw87 · 22/04/2020 10:09

@Marshy86 sorry to hear that not what u need rightnow especially with everything else going on. @OddshoesOddsocks had phone call with doctor they are prescribing antibiotics without even checking my urine which I kind of hate as even though I'm in pain don't want to take antibiotics without reason to. Sample will have to be left in and sent to the lab just x

OddshoesOddsocks · 22/04/2020 11:56

Great news @nicciw87, I understand not wanting to take them unnecessarily, my dr suggested leaving them at the chemist for a few days until I was sure I really needed them. That way if i didn’t they could go back into their stock. I don’t think I’d want to do that with a UTI though, especially at this stage of pregnancy!

@Marshy86 that’s awful! And rubbish timing! Glad you’re managing to get stuff sorted, try not to let it ruin anything, I’m sure it will barely matter once little one is here!

I’m just waiting for a call back from the midwife, not sure who I spoke to but it sounded like she’d been drafted in to man the phones! Must be chaos there!
In other news, we’ve been for a little walk and it’s shifted more mucus plug. No more waters as yet or real pains but baby feels very low!

Marshy86 · 22/04/2020 13:27

Just had sweep but the midwife said cervix hasn't started to open so don't think it's looking hopeful another one booked for next week and induction on the Thursday if not successful

KHall84 · 22/04/2020 14:00

@Marshy86 sorry to hear about your bags that is so rubbish but don't let it spoil anything for you xx hope your sweep works before induction xx

@OddshoesOddsocks keep us updated what the midwife says xx I too have been for a walk and lost a tiny bit more plug too :)

I don't have a 2nd sweep until Monday but I would really like to of gone before then as I have already decided I will be declining an induction and will keep going as long as healthy for me and baby as I would prefer no intervention other than the sweeps xx

nicciw87 · 22/04/2020 14:24

Ur a brave woman @KHall84 im in tomorrow for appointment and better get a date for induction want him out lol.

KHall84 · 22/04/2020 14:49

@nicciw87 I think as am really not wanting a csection and there is a higher rate of csections after a induction I also do t want to be in hospital on my own having an induction at this current time but of course if it becomes unhealthy for me or baby I might have no choice and am open to this i guess we all just have our own birth choices in our head and hey who knows I might of had enough by end of next week if am still i this situation lol

They normally have you induction date for between 10 to 12 days over your due date xx

nicciw87 · 22/04/2020 14:56

Well I'm hoping he will put me in for Monday il be 9 days over then x

Beanie1981 · 22/04/2020 17:01

Congratulations @Moussemum - make sure you tell us how it went.

@Marshy86 that is horrendous - what type of person does that?!
@nicciw87 @KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks hang on in there. I've just packed my bag again for induction booked tomorrow. The not knowing how long I'll be in for has made packing a bit tricky. Do people take dressing gowns?!

nicciw87 · 22/04/2020 17:07

@Beanie1981 I have a light one packed in my bag hospital will be really warm usually but last baby I was throwing up after so was shivery so really loved mine plus its handy to put on going to bathroom etc x

Beanie1981 · 22/04/2020 17:18

@nicciw87 that's what I'm thinking I'm also bringing my own pillow too. Honestly, I am going to look like such a idiot walking in tomorrow! Carrier bag central! It's either that or a medium suitcase and that is a bad look! I've even packed hot chocolate powders just in case!

OddshoesOddsocks · 22/04/2020 18:45

@Beanie1981 I took my dressing gown with dd1, life saver! (But afterwards make sure you’re not sat on it, flick it out from underneath you before sitting down!)

I haven’t had my call back from the midwife, I think I’ve been forgotten! I was going to ring back but the day got away from me so will ring this evening and chase them up.

Dds are going to my mums tonight, she offered and I ummed and arred all day. They’ve self isolated ready to have them and it gives me one less thing to worry about. I’m hoping that the quiet house will give baby the push she needs or if when I ring back they want me to get checked then we can just go and not worry about getting the girls ready first. Fingers crossed for tonight!!

Still not much going on here, feeling slightly periody since dinner but nothing to write home about. Will be back on the ball once the girls are gone!

Beanie1981 · 22/04/2020 19:26

@oddshoesoddsocks that's a good call. Unfortunately, it's not a dark coloured one either!
My husband is staying with our 3 year old, as his parents are older and were worried taking her. Also we didn't want her to worry. It means he won't see the baby till he picks us up, and I'm by myself but we figured it's the best option. I am hoping there will be a good spirit of togetherness on the ward for all the women going through this together . It's a shame we aren't;t all at the same hospital

KHall84 · 22/04/2020 20:15

@beanie1981 I hope your induction goes well tomorrow can't wait to hear the news once you have had your baby not long now for you xx

@OddshoesOddsocks thats good that you get a night of rest I hope it works for you and baby makes a appearance for you, I too have had my mum self isolated for the last few weeks as there going to drive and come have my little boy once labour does start.

I have had a lot of braxton hicks the last few hrs and my pelvis is quite sore this afternoon I feel like baby is lower down i have put my clary sage oil on and am going to use the breast pump shortly but I am expecting this baby to not come any time before the weekend xx

OddshoesOddsocks · 22/04/2020 21:07

Good luck @Beanie1981! It’s not ideal but sounds like the best option for you. I hope you’ve got a good group in there with you, I’ve heard really positive stories from women who have had to go in alone.

@khall84 fingers crossed! It’s comforting to know that everything’s in place isn’t it? But makes it all the more frustrating to wait!!

Maggie90 · 22/04/2020 22:41

Congratulations, @Moussemum so happy for you!! Enjoy your baby and look after yourself.

Looking forward to hearing everybody else’s good news!! Good luck with induction tomorrow @Beanie1981.

@KHall84@nicciw87@OddshoesOddsocks
Not long to go now. Sleepless nights (actually that’s a lie), hip pain, the waiting, Bordem and huge tums are almost gone!!

Very excited for all mums on this thread!!

Hey, due date is Friday and absolutely nothing going on here, except BH but thats been the case for months. In total agony with PGP, can hardly move. Obviously walks and sex out the question. Feels mentally like i’m really ‘overdue’ when i’m not! Had my daughter at 39+4 and psycologically thats not good as anything longer than that now feels overdue.
Still dreading the labour so much....
A few tears tonight. Been doing well but it all got a bit on top of me. The uncertainty of it all. I know all births are uncertain but right now this feels ridiculous, have no idea where i’m going to deliver

Moussemum · 23/04/2020 05:58

@Beanie1981good luck with your induction today.
@Maggie90 how are you getting on with new baby?
My labour was so painful and quick.I woke up with pains and got to the hospital an hour or so later and was 8cm dilated.Screamed all the way there and outside.eventually got an epidural and after less than 15 minutes pushing, baby was out.the whole thing took less than 4 and half hours 😊.
Loving my new baby.
Good luck ladies with your new arrivals.

Marshy86 · 23/04/2020 06:10

I think something is happening guys! Woke up at 2 am with cramps at the front of my tummy, been to toilet since and I have had some light bleeding a small amount of mucus/ show. Just getting hubby to hook up the tens machine xx

KHall84 · 23/04/2020 07:53

@Marshy86 yay xx how r u getting on have things ramped up ? Am so excited for you keep us updated xx

@nicciw87 @OddshoesOddsocks how r u both getting on this morning?

Nothing has changed for me other than it hurts to walk in my pelvis or turn over in bed hoping it means baby has moved lower xx

OddshoesOddsocks · 23/04/2020 08:10

Ooh good luck @Marshy86!! Sounds very promising!

@khall84 I’ve been up since half 3 bouncing on the ball, put a wash on and walked the dog, come back to bed now with nothing happening so I’m going to try and enjoy my child free day and binge watch some rubbish in bed!

Sounds promising for you! Everything going in the right direction!

KHall84 · 23/04/2020 09:10

@oddshoesoddsocks lol I was thinking 9f doing that the other night when I couldn't sleep xx I hope you enjoy your child free day as much as we love them it is nice to have a break too xx

Yes I would say things are heading in right direction as I have started to get mild cramps in bottom of tummy and I feel different today xx

nicciw87 · 23/04/2020 09:49

Well @KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks @Maggie90 I'm still waiting but this morning had so much mucus plug come away but crampy and I'm having really weird discharge. Got up at half 6 went back to bed there woke up hearing a really weird nose like a hose pipe leaking hissing sound and got up to more mucus plug and water running down my leg. Wondering if my waters are leaking not sure after thinking that a while ago and nothing happening so going to wait it out have an appointment with consultant at 3.30 today so will see what he says about it. When I went and wiped there it was a clear liquid but it felt weird like baby oil

KHall84 · 23/04/2020 10:04

@nicciw87 oh this is fab news hopefully its a good sign and maybe you will have a St Georges Day baby am excited for tou fingers crossed its things starting for you xx

I feel really blah today and very emotional for no reason and still having a dull ache so I am hoping things will progress in the next day or two xx
