Anyone awaiting arrival of their baby?

Hi,

My baby is due next Wednesday 8th April. Is anyone awaiting there little bundle to arrive around the same time?

Also how you feeling about the virus at such an special time for us

I have had a lager show this morning and feel like period is coming so am hoping this means things are going in right direction and something happens this weekend but we will see i don't hold out much hope, I called midwife to try get another sweep today but Monday is only time they do my clinic so got to wait its so frustrating zx

@123456kent have a nice cold drink see if that helps I have noticed that I still get movements but not as hig which midwife told me on Monday was normal as they have less room but you could always give them a ring xx

@123456kent happy due date! Totallt know the feeling of frustration, I guess there must just be a lot of build up to your body doing something so massive. Currently I WISH could have been a waters breaking and go in to the hosp situation hah. Hope baby gets moving, definitely go in if not theyre always so nice when I've had to go in for redcued movements.

Quick update - had random surges of pain for a couple of hours and then a proper show but now all stopped again. Good news is managed to have a little sleep and in bed, with chocolate watching Desperate Housewives so just waiting it out! Hope youre all doing well xx

I've been following your thread for a while and now plucked up the courage to join myself if you dont mind!
Less than a week until my due date and I feel absolutely massive, keep having random pains and feel very off today - tired, baby seems to be moving lots and is very low. No idea if this is the start of something or not with it being my first!

@KHall84 I was hoping that too but I’ve had 2 child free nights now and she’s not taken the hint! 😂

@KHall84 @OddshoesOddsocks I'm just so exhausted now. Least I'm booked in for Monday I wanted to just go gas and air though but if this keeps up il be so exhausted I might need the epidural

Hi @Pinacolada123, welcome! I had a lot like that with my first, it can get frustrating as you think ‘is this it?’ At every pain but at least it’s a sign that everything’s moving in the right direction! Do you know what you’re having or is it a surprise?

Oh @nicciw87 Monday isn’t far away at least but must feel like an age! At least it’s a deadline if nothing else!

@Pinacolada123 your first is hard to lnow for sure although my first I lost plug then contractions started so was simple for me however this time I feel like its my 1st as its totally different symptoms tour baby will be here bef9re you know it xx

@oddshoesoddsocks I have carried on losing my plug and more tinged this time so am hoping that this is all the plug coming away now ready for labour over weekend my husband said yesterday that he thinks sat so maybe he will be right xx

@OddshoesOddsocks it's a suprise! I'm excited but nervous as I was hoping all of this virus would calm down soon but go knows when that will happen. I just want our parents to be able to meet the little one ASAP and help us out but that's not looking likely is it.

@KHall84 I hope he’s right! 🤞 my friend has predicted Monday (I scoffed when she said that a week ago and said ‘I bloody hope not!’... it’s looking quite likely now!), dp has said ‘the next few days’ for about a month now!

@pinacolada123 that’s exciting! Dd2 was a surprise, I LOVED the moment when dp told me what she was but the suspense near killed me! We found out this time, I said it was so we could prepare the children but really it’s because I’m too impatient to wait!!

It’s awful timing isn’t it? What were the chances of giving birth during a global pandemic when we conceived! We’d be rich women if we’d put a bet on it... has anyone been told how long newborns need to isolate for? I’m sure I heard it was 2 weeks but not sure where I got that from or if it’s changed since! Either way we still won’t be able to have visitors or a while will we? That’s going to be incredibly hard!

All was ok re movements thank you. But nothing more pain wise - except the 24/7 back agony :-) - but nothing contraction wise. Lots of cervix lightning pains. Had midwife - baby head down, partially engaged, all means nothing I know!!
I wonder when they look back at data around this period if babies tended to be later because of inactivity. I wouldnt be able to do a lot if it wasnt for lockdown, but I would probably venture to one shop a day at least I suppose

I’m a bit further behind - due June 4th but due to bad pelvic girdle pain they are inducing me on the 22nd may. So yes I’m also waiting 😬😬😬

I stopped losing plug late this afternoon so I had a nap and have had no change at all i bounced on ball for 30mins earlier and out ckary sage oil on see if anything happens over weekend xx

No change here @KHall84 but thinking now the uti is causing these stupid false starts cuz turns out type I have the first antibiotic I was given doesn't work on it so on a new one now. Still having pains but not going to bother timing anything until I'm near crying with them be too annoyed if they stopped again

I don't blame you not timing them as it can be so disappointing when they stop xx

Today I gave not thought about labour and just distracted my self and only done a little bounce and oil and tobight am going to watch trash TV and chill xx

Same @KHall84 chill then hopefully can fall asleep early exhausted after last night iv only 3 more days to wait so that thought is keeping me sane

@nicciw87 my husband is convinced am going this weekend but I personally think I need another sweep before I will go xx

No change here! Baby still doing an Irish jig inside and pains seem to have stopped! They like to keep you on your toes dont they x

So contractions quite random and not that painful until 5 pm, then they started to escalate very quickly to every 4 minutes for a minute and very intense by 8:30pm and then... it all stopped completely!! Now just back to random twinges. Sounds like yours 123456kent? I will try and sleep while I can but cant help but feel dissapointed and a bit silly for thinking it was all about to happen...

Everyone seems to be in same boat - i really didnt realise labour was like this. All of my friends have multiple children but I suppose you dont hear about all this detail before baby arrives, you just get ‘he/she is here’. I didnt realise it was so stop/start.
@Totters123 mine werent really at any point intense, sounds like yours are more significant than mine. I almost feel like i imagined mine last night now as not a sign of it today! Feel disheartened and really ‘overdue’ even though today is due date!!
Another groundhog day tomorrow of pain and boredom!! :-/

Not much real change here, a bit more plug loss with a tinge to it so hopefully closer to a proper show! Baby is super low and I’m going to the toilet every 2 minutes with minimal result! I’ve just got into bed and can NOT lay on my side, my pelvis is so painful so everything is crossed that something will happen tonight. I’ll be SO disappointed if I wake up tomorrow morning with no baby!

@123456kent yeah its crazy to all have the same issue! It's frustrating as in general still very achey and having random contractions, so cant really sleep! I hope things get going for you properly and you can get some rest tonight. The only benefit I read somewhere was a longer earlier phase of labour means a shorter active phase, but who knows!
@oddshoesoddsocks fingers crossed for you! Great sign that shes lower down, hopefully on the move.

Thank you. Had a good sleep here but have woken in pain, and with toilet troubles, and have just lost a tiny bit of plug - but from what I am reading on here that really doesn’t seem to mean a thing so I’m keeping an open mind! If the pain continues then dealing with a 2.5 year old today will be interesting!!

Nothing changed for me although sleeping on my sides really hurt my hips last night, I have had no show this morning so am thinking today will just be another day am wanting Monday to come so I can have a 2nd sweep xx

Nothing here @KHall84, I’m gutted!! Just awaiting the influx of morning texts saying ‘anything yet?’. They’re driving me mad!!
