@bluemoon2468, that's interesting. It seems to fit with what I experienced. I was really blurgh weeks 7 & 8 and started to feel a bit better week 9. I'm now on week 10 and feel a lot better, only nauseous when really hungry or I've been really busy. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Although, like you, it does make you worry. My scan is 2w today and I cant wait. Need the confirmation that theres a baby in there (only 1!) and I'm not just going mad!

Treacle81 · 05/03/2020 07:57

Yeah I’m 9+3 today and bloat is gone! Back to flat tummy lol. Also only feeling nauseous when hungry, however feeling more stretching pains xx

@Treacle81 @Zaalfruit thank you! I couldnt make myself drink last night but sipping some water this morning. Annoying as I thought I'd turned a corner with the sickness boo

@bluemoon2468 I've read similar too saying week 8, 9 or 10 can be peak bad. I felt pretty good at the end of last week. Started up bad again yesterday at 9 weeks. Hopefully starts getting better in next few days or week.

SkyBlue20 · 05/03/2020 09:51

Welcome @Daisythesnail. Your sickness sounds horrible, fingers crossed for you it is just a bug and is over soon 🤞🏼

@Treaclepie19 Lovely scan, congrats! 💕

@Quiffy Oh no, you poor thing! How are you feeling this morning?

Welcome @LostinAusten2!

@bluemoon2468 Sounds good that things are calming down! Hopefully it’s all uphill from here! I keep panicking too when I feel a bit better but my boobs/nipples are usually sore for at least some of the day so I keep telling myself that’s baby saying hello when it does happen!

@Treacle81 Glad you said that about stretching pains as I’ve had a few more recently too. I’m 8+6 today.

Does everyone else keep finding themselves counting down until the day you enter the next week? Mine’s a Friday so wanting the work week to speed by even more than usual, literally wishing the time away! So happy to be entering week 9 though, it finally feels like we’re getting somewhere (although I was dated a week behind at my early scan but I’m not counting that, will wait until the 12 week scan dates me). Just waiting for the call for my scan now, hope it’s soon! Still have the panic that everything isn’t ok but trying to resist going for another early scan - we saw a heartbeat at my early one so I’m telling myself that’s what I need to focus on!

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 10:30

@Skyblue20 still very nauseous but luckily not been sick yet! Fingers crossed.

Yes on the counting down, I just turned 9 yesterday but already counting down days to 10 and being closer to the next scan. Still not had my letter through so dont know date yet boo.

Zaalfruit · 05/03/2020 10:33

@SkyBlue20 literally counting down to my 12 week scan. Sickness , tenderness has disappeared today . Feeling so much better - enjoying week 9 , but now I feel scared that I’m feeling good.

bluemoon2468 · 05/03/2020 11:30

@Quiffy still waiting for my letter for my dating scan too. Every night when I get home I'm hoping it'll be there! Got a private scan to look forward to this Sunday though 🙈 so only 3 more days to wait 🥳

If anyone has managed to wait until the 12 week scan without getting a private one I applaud you 👏🏻 wish I had the willpower to save my money!

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 11:34

@Bluemoon2468 ooo that's super exciting on the private scan, it's expensive but worth every penny imo. Just worth getting to see the little demon making you feel sick hehe - makes it all worth it.

SkyBlue20 · 05/03/2020 11:56

Just saw this and had to share - first trimester life 😂

Early Oct babies part 2!
SkyBlue20 · 05/03/2020 12:01

Glad to hear the sickness has eased off a bit @Quiffy, hope it stays that way! Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better too @Zaalfruit!

@bluemoon2468 will this be your first scan? It’s so exciting! Agree with Quiffy that it’s definitely worth it - it was the peace of mind more than anything. SO tempted to have another one 🤔

Not sure if I’ve asked this before in here but has anyone else been advised to take asprin through their pregnancy? What week were you told to start it on?

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 12:20

And just like that my scan take came through! It's on the 31st March, says it can take 2 hours? I dont know if that's because I'm consultant-led.

@skyblue20 Is the aspirin because of pre-eclampsia? My midwife says I'm to take something for pre-eclampsia but I won't get it until my 12 week appointment.

bluemoon2468 · 05/03/2020 12:30

@SkyBlue20 I had scans at 6 and 7 weeks at the EPU because I was having severe stomach pains so this will actually be my 3rd scan! But will be the first one I can actually enjoy (hopefully) rather than just being terrified the whole time. The EPU is a really intense environment so there's nothing smiley or nice about it at all. We're talking both grandmas with us - it's the first grandchild for both of them so they're buzzing!

Treaclepie19 · 05/03/2020 12:30

@Quiffy mine said it would be 2 hours too. It was because of seeing the consultant. It was really quick for me but then thats because I only needed to tell the consultant our testing preferences.

bluemoon2468 · 05/03/2020 12:31

Taking*

KelMcC · 05/03/2020 12:39

Yeh I was advised to take 150mg per day by IVF clinic! When I spoke to chemist they said wait till after week 12! Will confirm with mid wife tomorrow 😊

Spark27 · 05/03/2020 12:42

@SkyBlue20, that picture is so accurate.

@bluemoon2468 exciting about the scan. I've not had one yet and am waiting til the 12w one (will be 12+3) but that's not down to willpower or money, but lack of opportunity. We would have to take DD and she does NOT stop talking, so once she knows everyone will know Grin

Convinced DH we should go for a private gender scan though. Then we can take DD and I'm keen to find if I need to keep all her stuff or not

SkyBlue20 · 05/03/2020 12:44

@Quiffy So exciting to have a date! I can’t wait until there’s the excitement of us all having them!

@bluemoon2468 Oh yes, of course you did! Glad this one will be more enjoyable. Lovely that you get to take the grans too!

Yeah, the asprin is because of preeclampsia as my mum had it with me. Have had conflicting advice from each midwife - one said 150mg, the other said 75mg. Both said starting it now would be fine but then you read NHS guidance online that says 12weeks so I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

Right hip is killing me today! 👵🏼

KelMcC · 05/03/2020 12:57

I’ll let you know tomorrow what the midwife advises!

Hips have been fine, it’s my coccyx that’s sore! Anyone else?

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 13:01

@bluemoon2468 Im hoping to take my parents to the 12 week one - not sure if I'll be able to sneak them in or not...

@Treaclepie19 I'm hoping it won't be too long as I'm in at 9 am. Hopefully they do the scan first. It says I need a full bladder so not sure I can get away with filling it after FMU boo. My early scan was at 11am and she said my bladder wasnt very full despite chugging water an hour before haha.

@Spark27 The couple before me at my early scan were in for a gender scan with their DS. He was super excited at getting to see the baby on screen.

@Skyblue20 It was my mum that had it too. Maybe start the lower dose or just wait until 12 weeks? It's so hard to decide when you're unsure.

Daisythesnail · 05/03/2020 13:04

Hi Gang
@treacle81 thanks for name advice
@Zaalfruit really hope you’re feeling better
@Treaclepie19 wahoo on lovely scan
@KelMcC hope going back to work is ok
I’m also ivf so I had 7 week ivf scan- so tempted to pay for another early scan whilst I wait for my 12 week one but haven’t yet
@Quiffy projectile vomiting sounds horrendous, poor you- how are you today
@costumAusten welcome
@bluemoon2468 and @Spark27 for me sickness is def peaking week 9
I still don’t know what happened the other day, whether driving just made preg sickness 100 percent worse or if I had bug/food poisoning but I’m not getting better quickly. Feel constantly nauseous and spending long times just willing myself not to gag/be sick. Still haven’t really figured out when eating will make it better/worse.
The only thing I can really stomach is red grapes.
I’m off work due to ‘stomach bug’ because I genuinely thought that’s what it was, but as it’s got better to a point but still feel totally rubbish I’m wondering at what point I need to admit to work that maybe it’s pregnancy sickness.
I have my booking in appt on Sun and only then will they book my scan. I too am counting down days to start of each new week... but dates my ivf clinic gave me and dates the midwife gave me when I rang for booking in appt don’t match so I don’t really know when each new week starts!
Sorry if I missed anyone.
Love to you all,
Daisy xxx

Treaclepie19 · 05/03/2020 13:07

@Quiffy yeah they did my scan first and then the consultant. If you're early on you should be fine :)

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 13:15

@Daisythesnail I've no idea how you survived that journey!! Sounds like it could be pregnancy sickness kicking in, but hopefully just peaks and goes in the next week or so! If it's still bad I'd say to your midwife - anti-sickness meds made a big difference for me. I was being sick at 4 or 5 times a day before but since taking them since around 3rd week in Feb I've only been sick 4 times with yesterday being a really bad day. My DH is making me sit with a bucket since I didnt make the toilet the first time yesterday - the indignities of pregnancy hehe.

@Treaclepie19 that's good to know. I don't mind waiting around as long as I can pee haha

Daisythesnail · 05/03/2020 13:23

Quiffy
I don’t know how I survived journey either. I still don’t know what I ‘should’ have done. Pulling in on hard shoulder wasn’t safe but neither was driving gagging and trying to swallow back (tmi sorry)
I was so worried that I had my 15 month old in the car and I just needed to get him home. Considered checking into travel lodge... but didn’t know if it would be safe for my little one to wander around the room whilst I was being sick, and had minimal food with me for him- just snacks.. and no cot. Also thought if it kept getting worse there would be no one near to call to help me. Thought about trying to phone someone to pick us up but then my car would have been stranded and there’s always the stress of fitting car seats into someone else’s car. But I knew I really wasn’t safe to be driving. Tbh I think it’s traumatised me a bit... and I haven’t spoken to anyone about it in detail except on here... as no one wants to hear these details! I certainly am put off driving further than local journeys for a bit- so already stressing about family gathering at Easter 4 hours drive away. Xx

DressingGown87 · 05/03/2020 13:34

@SkyBlue20 I’ve not seen a midwife or consultant yet. I’m only 6+6 Though. I had recurrent MCs years ago, then saw a private consultant at a fertility clinic in 2016. I have dug my notes out, and it says to take aspirin from day pregnancy is confirmed. Nothing to do with how much, or anything. So I’ve started taking one aspirin in the evening, and have phoned to try and speak to a consultant / midwife to confirm.

Quiffy · 05/03/2020 13:38

@Daisythesnail Is your Easter drive with someone else in the car? I'd take something you could be sick in and have plenty of fluids and salty snacks in the car with you. Maybe plan some regular stops so you can get out and stretch your legs too. You did so well getting home, I've no idea what I would have done.
