Thanks @Buzz22 I was told we would form a plan for the rest of the pregnancy at my 16 week appointment on the 30th. I had a cervical length scan at the same time as my 12 week scan so maybe you would too if it's a concern? It was internal so the whole scan took a long time and with all the waiting I was at the hospital 2 hours, trying desperately not to touch anything!

BntTowers · 28/03/2020 19:02

@Glitterbug86 I'm so glad you got your scan! Looks a lovely photo.

MrsD1990 · 28/03/2020 20:11

@Glitterbug86 so happy you got your scan and measurements!! Xx

Glitterbug86 · 28/03/2020 20:14

Thanks all xx

Does anyone else have days without any symptoms? I'm 11 weeks today and I know they are suppose to start dropping off, just a bit worrying. I'm sure I'm just being a bit silly...

esmerelda1988 · 28/03/2020 21:09

@BntTowers I do, had quite a dramatic drop in symptoms at ten weeks so no nausea now, felt really perky for a week or two, no real symptoms most days and now back to incredible tiredness! I think it's normal but it's quite a change from feeling so rubbish in the earlier weeks so naturally can be worrying.

BntTowers · 28/03/2020 21:23

@esmerelda1988 thanks, that gives me a bit of reassurance. I think being stuck in the house for so long (apart from the occasional walk) is staying to give me a bit of cabin fever causing me to overthink every little detail!

Zaalfruit · 28/03/2020 23:40

@Glitterbug86 lovely picture made me smile x

@BntTowers it’s normal happened to me I freaked out and the then put of the blue the sickness and tiredness came back with a vengeance. At 12/13 weeks now and I feel more crummy then anything - enjoy this time x

Quiffy · 29/03/2020 09:54

@Glitterbug86 gorgeous scan!! So happy for you

Treacle81 · 29/03/2020 11:02

Morning girls!
Buzzing for you @Glitterbug86 ❤️.
@Quiffy that made me laugh so much! I’m thankfully not feeling as sick, unless really hungry but still suffering with heartburn and tiredness. Yup, greasy hair, spotty skin 😞xx

Glitterbug86 · 29/03/2020 11:36

Awh thank you 😊 @Zaalfruit @Quiffy @Treacle81

I am also in the spotty skin club - mostly those nasty little under skin ones along my jaw. Also patiently waiting on the glow!! 🤣

LexiM · 29/03/2020 11:57

Good morning

@Glitterbug86 so happy for you and lovely scan!

Sorry some of you are feeling sick too. Yesterday was the worst day for me, hit 12 weeks and spent the whole day being sick or feeling sick. I barely ate and barely moved. Feeling a bit better today, although I was awake from 4.30-7am not feeling great earlier. Weirdly the last few Saturdays have been the day I’ve felt bad! Just hoping this is some kind of peak before it all goes away.

@quiffy I’m with you on the fluffy tummy! Oh the joys of pregnancy 🤣

Zaalfruit · 29/03/2020 12:35

@Quiffy omg the same 😜

Gosh has anyone seen the price of prams why are some of the over a grand - more than my rent 🤣😂 will do some extensive research we got a few months.

BntTowers · 29/03/2020 13:22

@zaalfruit same! I was looking yesterday. When a work colleague was pregnant last year some of the girls suggested a travel system so pram, car seat etc all in one system. I think we'll look at the sort of thing...

Treaclepie19 · 29/03/2020 13:43

@Zaalfruit we actually have one from our 4yo but I want a new one 😳 So I may try and sell it and get a new one 😂🙈

Spark27 · 29/03/2020 14:38

Fortunately we had the big expense last time, although moving DD out into a new bedroom is proving costly. We went for the travel system option too, although about 5 months in we bought one of the spinning car seats. Was really expensive (about £400) but managed to get it on a deal with about a third off. DD was such a chunk that she soon hated being squished in the smaller carseat. The spinning one goes up to about 4yo so worked out being worth it (although scary price at the time).

I highly recommend picking up as much stuff 2nd hand as you can. People spend so much on baby stuff, hardly use them and then sell them so cheap just to get space back. While we all buy into having the nice new stuff for our babies, I wish I'd picked up more on FB selling sites x

SkyBlue20 · 29/03/2020 14:48

Hi ladies,
Glad to hear you’re all doing ok and sorry to hear the elusive glow hasn’t yet reached you! I was thinking I’d like to keep up with this thread just to see how you’re all getting on although I probably won’t be around quite as much, I hope that’s ok? Please don’t feel you have to censor anything though - I’ll self censor if I need to.

I’m doing ok, still feeling super nauseous all the time which is really quite annoying and I’ve had slight cramps around my lower back and lower abdomen but that could just be from barely moving from my bed/the sofa the last few days! Have been very up and down but so far today I haven’t cried, which is a huge improvement on the last few days. The wait is the worst along with the false hope - even though the midwife said there’s absolutely no chance and the next scan is just to tick a box, there’s a tiny part of me that thinks ‘what if our baby is the miracle?!’ The logical part of my brain usually takes over and tells me to stop being ridiculous though - I think I’m going through the denial step of grief!

Anyway, just wanted to check in, hope you’re all good and being at home isn’t sending you too crazy xxx

Glitterbug86 · 29/03/2020 15:11

Hi @SkyBlue20. Glad to hear from you and that you're doing ok, or as ok as could be. Have been thinking of you ❤️

Of course you are more than welcome to stick around and chat, as long as you're comfortable with that.

I can totally understand the holding on to a glimmer of hope for the next scan, even if logically your brain says different. I think I would probably be the same. It's such a tough, painful time and I'm sure you're very much still processing it all. When is your next scan or what comes next?

Sending you strength and hugs, brighter days lie ahead for you xx

SkyBlue20 · 29/03/2020 15:21

Thanks @Glitterbug86 💕 Next scan is 8am on 9th April, so a while off yet, then after that they’ll discuss my ‘options’ with me (though I’m reading that they’re reduced due to coronavirus so I quite possibly won’t be able to get what I want). It’s very strange as in this limbo period I’m still taking my pregnancy vits, avoiding alcohol, etc, as still feeling that urge to protect my baby (and there’s that very very minuscule chance)!

Anyway, I don’t want to bring the tone down but just wanted to check in ☺️ Really glad to see that everybody’s scans and NT results etc have all been good, so happy for you all. Are 16 week appts looking likely to be over the phone? Xx

LexiM · 29/03/2020 16:12

Hi @skyblue20 - lovely to hear from you, I’ve been thinking of you too. Sorry to hear it’s such a slow process but I’m glad you are doing ok and of course happy for you to be here still. It’s so unfair the way you still have the symptoms, I hope these go away soon.

I do wonder if my 16 week appointment will be over the phone, just seen my surgery has closed except for exceptional appointments and they are no longer using the main door/car park. I will wait to hear from them.

My scan is Tuesday, feeling anxious about it as it’s just the unknown and going on my own, but part of me is excited too.

otterbaby · 29/03/2020 16:22

@SkyBlue20 nice to see you here again ❤️ I hope you're taking care of yourself. It's frustrating that you have to wait for long for your next appointment, but hopefully they'll still take your preference into consideration. I know exactly what you mean though - with my last pregnancy, even when I knew that we would be losing our baby due to tfmr in a few weeks time, I still took my pre-natals and didn't drink. I felt like as long as she was still inside me, I still had a duty to protect her for as long as I was able to ❤️

And yes, my 16 week appt has been changed to a phone appt. For the best all things considered, but still disappointing.

NWnature · 29/03/2020 16:42

@SkyBlue20 nice to hear from you. Please do stay around if it’s the right thing for you. So frustrating how long the wait is.

@LexiM hope Tuesday goes well! My scan is on Wednesday but I haven’t heard anything about whether my husband can come or not. I will text the midwife tomorrow I think. I am so nervous and have been having anxious weird dreams.

Hope everyone has had an ok weekend. We went for a really long walk which helped (although I am knackered ! So out of breath the whole way!)

Zaalfruit · 29/03/2020 16:48

@SkyBlue20 sorry to hear it’s such a slow process. I would deffo be the same as you - protect the baby right till the last moment . Sending you massive sprinkle of love and hugs.

My hospital is annoying me they want me to go in two days in a row 15th and 16th April (Consultant and midwife) I asked if I can do it over the phone - they said currently said no. I’m scared to go in , feel like the maternity ward is in a place where social distancing can not take place.

@Spark27 I wanted to pick up second hand stuff - but my husbands so funny about it . I might still pick it up stuff - I dont See anything wrong with getting things second hand and then giving it a good wash and disinfect . I have heard NcT nearly new sales are really good to find bargains.

SkyBlue20 · 29/03/2020 16:48

Good luck on Tuesday, @LexiM - I’m sure everything will be great!

@otterbaby That’s exactly how I feel - it’s just what my body is telling me to do so that’s what I’m doing. What’s another two weeks of it when I’ve already done so many. I’ve decided that I think baby was a girl, too, I don’t know why but every time I think of it I think of it as ‘she’, so that’s what I’m going with as we’ll never really know.

That is disappointing about the 16 week scan - I understand it, I really do, but I just wish for you all that this could all just be a normal process. I read that a lot of places are now only letting partners in for the birth and then they have to leave straight after and can’t visit, that would be horrendous. Really got to feel for those women giving birth imminently and those who have recently who can’t have visitors - grandparents who can’t meet their grandchildren etc. What a strange, strange situation everyone is in. Hopefully all will be better by September/October for you all though - I’m sure we’ll be over the worst of it by then 🤞🏼

SkyBlue20 · 29/03/2020 16:51

Good luck on Wednesday @NWnature! Hope your husband is allowed to go with you 🤞🏼

@Zaalfruit That seems so unnecessary to have you there two days in a row rather than doing both appointments on the same day! Hope you manage to get it sorted xx
