Thank you for your well wishes for Tuesday.

@NWnature hope your scan goes well. I haven’t been told my husband can’t come but I’ve seen it on the local maternity Facebook page. I expect they will give me a call to confirm it tomorrow.

@Zaalfruit I agree two times in a row seems mad although I can imagine they are following strict rules on social distancing and hygiene.

Buzz22 · 29/03/2020 17:43

Hey @SkyBlue20 glad you are doing ok given the circumstances. Sending love. Yes my hospital has a note online saying 16 week midwife appointment will be done over the phone.

@Zaalfruit I'm in the same situation. I have appointment with consultant tomorrow and then dating scan the next day. Really dont want to be in the hospital twice! I'm going to ring tomorrow morning and see if the consultant will speak to me over the phone.

Spark27 · 29/03/2020 18:45

@SkyBlue20 so lovely to hear from you. I hope you're doing ok. Sorry you have to wait so long for the next scan and to get things resolved. I suppose in the current climate they may be trying to work out the best way forwards whilst limiting hospital interaction?

@Zaalfruit, my DH was exactly the same. But then he saw the price of stuff, and began to appreciate the length of time we would use some of it for. And most of the stuff that people sell on is excellent quality. We are so lucky that my cousin has a little girl 10 months older than mine so we get so many hand-me-downs. Its saved us a fortune.

Treacle81 · 30/03/2020 07:38

Morning girls! After saying felt better yesterday, that soon changed and the nausea was on another level, still never once been sick and god I really wish I could have been yest! Just felt terrible right up till bed time and then through the night. Woke at 5 with terrible heartburn and looks like today going to be the same 😩. Hi @SkyBlue20 good to hear from you. Got my scan tomorrow so expecting call today to say come alone, soon see. Best of luck for today’s scans ❤️.Hope you are well xx

Now waiting for my scan I'm so nervous. Good luck to anyone else today who's having scans

dani04 · 30/03/2020 09:21

My scans today feeling nervous good luck to everyone!

Buzz22 · 30/03/2020 09:35

Morning ladies. Good luck to everyone having scans today. Hoping for lots of lovely photos on here later today! Mine is tomorrow...eeekkk!

@esmerelda1988 @Zaalfruit I know some people were wondering about my consultant appointment today and whether I needed to go in today AND tomorrow for the scan...
Well I rung hospital and it turns out they booked me in with consultant today for my 16 week check up for some reason! So I've had it cancelled and rebooked. Dating scan tomorrow as planned without partner unfortunately.
@esmeralda1988 they also booked me in for cervical length scan on the 9th of April with the fetal medicine consultant. I think the receptionist said that would take me to about 14 weeks which sounds about right. So I'm assuming maybe they will be every 2 weeks from then? We will see I guess. Just glad I dont have to go in today and tomorrow!

BntTowers · 30/03/2020 09:36

Good lucky to all those with scans, let us know how it all goes.

@Spark27 we are going to try and do a lot of second hand stuff, it all seems insanely expensive for things which may only be used for a couple of months...

@SkyBlue20 it's great to hear that you are feeling a bit better. I'm still blown away by long long it's going to take to get things sorted for you. It's also completely understanding to be taking care of your little one for as long as you can. I've already been told that my appointments will be over the phone until it changes.

NWnature · 30/03/2020 09:43

Good luck to those with scans today! Star

LexiM · 30/03/2020 10:25

Good luck and enjoy to those with scans today. One more sleep for me!

@Treacle81 sorry you are feeling rubbish, I was too yesterday and all through the night. I was sick at 1am then couldn’t get back to sleep. Having a very relaxed day today as really hoping I don’t feel sick for my scan tomorrow. Hope you are feeling better very soon.

Spark27 · 30/03/2020 10:32

Good luck all those with scans today Flowers

otterbaby · 30/03/2020 10:47

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we'll see some more lovely photos today.

I received my blood results today - 1 in 50,000 chance for Down, Edwards and Patau's. Feeling so relieved. For those waiting for their results, our scan was last Tuesday so roughly 4 working days.

Glitterbug86 · 30/03/2020 11:19

Good luck to those of you with scans today/tomorrow.

@SkyBlue20 sorry you have to wait so long, that can't make it any easier. I think there's no harm taking your vits and staying away from alcohol as that will be doing good for you anyways x

MrsD1990 · 30/03/2020 11:57

Ahh excellent @otterbaby, what a huge relief! I had my scan on Wednesday so hopefully I'll get my letter tomorrow.

Good luck everyone with scans today ♥️

I have had quite bad evening nausea (rarely in the morning or early afternoon) but this morning I threw up for the very first time 😞 do feel better after being sick though. Hope this isn't a new thing I'll do every morning though

Zaalfruit · 30/03/2020 14:20

@Buzz22 thank you for the insight . My 20 weeks scan has been booked for 2 dates as well I’m wondering if it’s a glitch ..? I’m 13 weeks now and my sickness is getting worse and I get so tired that my hands shake . I am not sure if my dose of Levo needs to be upped but I can’t even get a blood test to get levels checked out .

How is everyone feeling ? I really want to hit 20 weeks quickly just want to go to that second scan . I know I’m wishing away the weeks but being in isolation each day seems like there is 48 hours in a day .

@MrsD1990 after you sick you feel great like a weight had been taken off your shoulders! I hope you feel better !

@otterbaby ooh that’s great news - my scan was on Wednesday I think 🤔 lol seems ages ago now just waiting for my letter

Zaalfruit · 30/03/2020 14:21

Also looking forward to seeing all the pics 😍🥰

Indigogirl88 · 30/03/2020 14:28

Thanks for that @otterbaby

@MrsD1990 I thought I was speaking too soon, I'm nearly 13 weeks but the evening nausea is still hanging around!

I'm struggling with work at the moment as I'm still not comfortable telling them is pregnant for various reasons, but they want me to start going back to the office maybe so I just dont know what to do. I dont want to be a negative Nelly but I cant decide. Not got a call with a midwife for a few weeks yet either. Is anyone else here not told there employer yet?

@SkyBlue20 Flowers

Glitterbug86 · 30/03/2020 14:39

@zaalfruit was your dose upped after becoming pregnant? Shaky hands kinda sounds more like too high a dose? But maybe you feel it's low in other ways? I have under active thyroid too. Also need a blood test after dose change but want to avoid going to the gp right now. Hospital tested it as part of my booking app last week so hoping they will let me know if any issue.

@Indigogirl88 I haven't told work either and don't plan to any time soon if I can get away with it, but I am working from home for the foreseeable. I'm thinking of waiting until after my 20 week scan if I can get away with not saying it till then. It's not that I think I would be treated unfairly, but it's just everything is so all over the place right now that I don't want to add another variable if that makes any sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

esmerelda1988 · 30/03/2020 14:51

Thanks @Buzz22 will they not do your cervical length scan tomorrow during your 12 week scan, they did that with me, it's just an additional internal one, then you wouldn't have to go back. I'm just querying with my hospital whether I'll have a cervical length scan on 30th at my 16 week consultant appointment, I feel like they're leaving me a long time in between checks! Will let you know what I find out.

Buzz22 · 30/03/2020 15:56

@esmerelda1988 I dont think so as the scan tomorrow will be done by the sonographer and the cervical length scan is done by the fetal medicine consultant at a pre-term labour clinic.
I have no idea why it's different? I've had 2 early scans and the sonographer looked at the cervix then.
I know you said you are also a high risk pregnancy. Do you mind if I ask why? I had extremely early pre-term premature rupture of membranes and second trimester loss. So I'm high risk for premature labour. Although my cervix was always long and closed right up until the day they induced labour. So I'm not entirely sure why they are doing fortnightly cervical length scans. I didn't have an incompetent cervix. They think it was due to an infection. I'm going to attend the scan with consultant and ask if she think it's worth me having them done every 2 weeks or if they can be more spread out. To be honest I'm paranoid that having internal scans every other week is just asking for some bacteria to be shoved into the cervix and cause an infection again...but I'm not an obstetrician so what do I know!

Buzz22 · 30/03/2020 16:05

Just been sent this. Not sure if anyone wants to sign. Its a petition to protect the right to have a birth partner during covid-19 outbreak

www.change.org/p/nhs-protect-the-right-to-have-a-birth-partner-during-covid-19

esmerelda1988 · 30/03/2020 16:40

@Buzz22 sorry to hear that- I expect that's the difference, this is my first and I have a uterine abnormality, uterus didelphys, which means I have 2 wombs and cervices. Comes with an increased risk of pre term labour due to baby running out of room, late miscarriage and breech presentation so almost certainly a C section for me later down the line. But as I haven't had a baby before they have no idea whether this will actually happen or not so maybe they're monitoring less for this reason. I spoke to someone at the hospital today who said I should be scanned at 16 weeks then fortnightly until 24 weeks apparently so we shall see! Hope your scan goes well.

Zaalfruit · 30/03/2020 18:08

@Glitterbug86 apparently when pregnant we are meant to get under active checked everyone 4 weeks with a blood I can’t even get an appointment. The problem with my trust and doctors surgery is that they can’t see blood tests that each perform so my doctor has given me the blood test forms and I have to go them get it done . For me I get both shaky hands when dose is too low or too high - I’m scared as well I been doing a lot of research on under active thyroid and pregnancy .

@Buzz22 I feel your pain going in every two weeks - I wish they were doing what a trust in Hampshire is doing .They have set up a whole new huts for maternity - this avoids all crossing with other patients - my cousin lives in Winchester and she is due in a month and she said the way they handled it is so great . Midwifes and consultant And others for that department are not liaising with the other teams to reduce covid 19 and also full PPE is being worn.

LostinAusten2 · 30/03/2020 20:17

Hey, just wishing everyone well with their scans. Mine isn’t until Good Friday (really hope it lives up to its name!), and any pics in the meantime will help take my mind of the joys of this nausea - only properly sick twice so far and holding onto that fact with what remains of my pride 😊 x
