Just what it says really - anyone else near the end and would like some company? I'm driving myself crazy over here by myself!

39+4 here and getting increasingly grumpy waiting! Although just realised that today is most likely my last day at home alone before half term chaos and then arrival of Bubba so I should really make the most of it while I can!!

amehh · 24/10/2019 12:15

@Aurora79 definitely enjoy the peace and quiet! I finished work on Friday and its half term this week so no quiet time for me! DS is away this weekend and I'd be thrilled if this baby came then (just want to find to the cinema friday night first haha)

Have you had any signs/symptoms?

Aurora79 · 24/10/2019 12:19

Fingers crossed baby holds on for you so you get your Friday night off!! Did you go overdue with your other DC? (I have a DSS so no frame of reference!)

I’ve had a few contractions, mainly at night, but nothing else- the little madam seems pretty comfy in there so anticipating going over, and got a sweep booked for 40+3 to hopefully get things moving!

The waiting is just the hardest bit!!

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/10/2019 12:26

40+5
Waters broke about 15 hours ago in quite dramatic fashion but not a single contraction.

Bored out of my mind in hospital!

Aurora79 · 24/10/2019 12:38

Ooh wow @Pinkflipflop85, I spent a few hours at a friends house yesterday and was so paranoid of my waters breaking all over her lovely fancy sofa!

Hope things speed up for you, will they induce to get things moving?

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/10/2019 12:56

I must admit it was quite comical. And the more we laughed the worse it was Grin

amehh · 24/10/2019 13:34

@Aurora79 with DS my waters broke at 40+2 (he arrived at 40+4) so I'm hoping to not go overdue again! Especially as I'm suffering more this time, the right side of my pelvis is really sore and I'm not really sleeping! Has some looser than usual poops (TMI) the past couple of days so I'm hoping it is on it's way! Planning a looooong walk on Saturday morning haha

@Pinkflipflop85 oooh good luck, I feel your pain! My waters also went (and continued to go every time I coughed, sneezed, stood etc) with DS and although I did have contractions I never got to 4cm and ended up induced the following day. Can you get up and walking/bouncing on a ball? It might help :) try and enjoy the last little bit of quiet time! Baby will be on it's way soon, one way or another!

I'm 37+1 and had a sweep this morning and going in for an induction next Wednesday! I now feel really panicked like I'm not ready and that I have too much left to do! Confused

thelostartofkeepingsecrets · 24/10/2019 13:39

It’s my due date today and feeling like it’s never going to happen. Just had a sweep and I think I’ll go for a nap now. Getting a bit bored waiting!

Shewoman · 24/10/2019 13:48

I'm 40+2 and sooo fed up now, have been off work for ages already and trying to stay active but have had enough and today just been lying around being lazy. And half term next week so don't want to be feeling like this with the kids home every day if baby still hasn't arrived! Have sweep booked for Monday, hope something happens before that.

Aurora79 · 24/10/2019 13:54

Lots of us waiting then, hopefully there’ll be lots of weekend babies!!

I’ve been bouncing madly on the ball to try and turn the baby (she was head down but facing sideways last week) and think I’ve managed to turn her- although fingers crossed she’s not gone the wrong way and gone back to back! Trying to keep active but the weather here is foul so I’m cooped up indoors which isn’t helping my grumpy mood!

katmarie · 24/10/2019 13:58

40+8 here. Nothing happening at all! Had a sweep yesterday, and not even a twinge overnight or so far today. If nothing happens over the weekend I'm booked for induction on Monday. Ds was born at 40+8 so I was convinced this baby would be out by now. I'm climbing the walls here!

givememarmite · 24/10/2019 14:50

39+3 here and after 4 hours of contractions, getting to 3cm and spending the night in hospital on Saturday there's not been a peep since 🙄 so I'm pretty fed up now.

DC2 was a week early and this one has been engaged and had a shortened cervix for a couple of weeks now so was hoping to go early again but not looking so positive any more!

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/10/2019 14:59

Saw midwife at 7am this morning who said they are waiting for a doctor to make a plan.

It's now 3pm and I've not seen a soul! They can't find any doctors and I'm soooooo bored.

Plus the people in the bay next to me are quite possibly the most irritating inconsiderate people in the world Hmm

gkeal3 · 24/10/2019 15:10

40+5 here 🙋🏼‍♀️ the waiting is driving me mad tbh

amehh · 24/10/2019 18:46

There's loads of us! Hope everyone has managed a restful day, even if we would all prefer to be in labour!

Has anyone on here been having loose stools? I've just been for a second time today and it was grim, just really hoping nothing kicks off tonight (any time after 3pm tomorrow is ideal as I won't have to call my anyone to watch DS) - oh the irony!

thelostartofkeepingsecrets · 24/10/2019 19:18

I’ve had a pretty relaxed day - had my nails done as a bit of a pick-me-up after my sweep and then a nap. Now just chilling out reading my book. I know my days of suiting myself are numbered now so trying to take advantage while I still can!

It still feels crazy that I’ll have a baby sometime in the next two weeks. Hopefully everyone else has had some rest too.

imiss · 24/10/2019 19:25

39+1 here too, DD before was born at 42+4 so praying I don't go so far overdue again and I haven't got another 3 weeks Shock desperate to meet baby and just not be pregnant anymore!

Had a long massage yesterday with some painful twinges after and thought something was happening for it to fizzle out.

Anyone else find they're willing it to happen in the morning after (some! Not a lot!) of sleep and by the evening they're willing it not to happen now as they're too tired Grin

thelostartofkeepingsecrets · 24/10/2019 19:28

@imiss - yes! I’ve decided that a good night’s sleep, then a spot of breakfast then labour will be just perfect. That’s how this works right?!

Aurora79 · 24/10/2019 19:35

@thelostartofkeepingsecrets labour after a good nights sleep and a good brekkie sounds epic! After an entire pregnancy of sleeping really well (and feeling pretty smug about it Blush) I’ve suddenly got insomnia. Am hoping it’s a sign that my body is getting ready for the newborn sleep deprivation, but more likely that I’m just massive and uncomfortable and my OH has a stinking cold and has been snoring his head off!!

MrsF90 · 24/10/2019 19:51

40+2 here. Had a sweep Tuesday and it looked promising last night with what seemed like my plug making its exit. But nothing at all today and starting to feel demoralised. Currently running a clary sage bath in the hope that will get things going! Otherwise no other intervention until Tuesday and sweep number 2. Induction booked for a week Sunday! X

givememarmite · 24/10/2019 21:40

Wow so many of us!
@Pinkflipflop85 I hope things are progressing nicely for you!

Pinkflipflop85 · 25/10/2019 00:12

Thanks for asking...but no they aren't! Back at home now to try and get some rest in my own comfy bed until I go back in tomorrow morning.

givememarmite · 25/10/2019 09:27

Oh shame! Well I hope you managed to get some rest and that gives you a boost for today.

All quite here, how is everyone else feeling today?

katmarie · 25/10/2019 09:36

Alll quiet here too, nothing happening at all, apart from the usual aches and pains from being heavily pregnant. Resigning myself to the induction now, I've been downloading stuff onto my tablet to keep me from getting bored in the hospital.
