Just what it says really - anyone else near the end and would like some company? I'm driving myself crazy over here by myself!

I'm glad the weather is miserable as when I was overdue with Dd it was mid heatwave and hell, but it would be so much nicer and cosier with a newborn than being this uncomfortable and big! Going to bed in a moment good luck to all the ladies on the thread fingers crossed some babies appear soon!

katmarie · 27/10/2019 00:47

Turns out it was something! I've got my baby girl in my arms after just 2 hours of active labour, I think it's the trade off for all those days of waiting. Didn't have time for the epidural, didn't even have time for the midwife to read my birth plan. I feel amazing and shattered all at once.

GrumpyHoonMain · 27/10/2019 01:00

Nearly 35 weeks and I will get a sweep at 38 weeks. Can someone who’s had them tell me how painful it is (or isn’t)? A bit scared as I find smear tests agonising Blush

givememarmite · 27/10/2019 06:40

Oh congratulations @katmarie !! How lovely!
Hope you managed to get some rest in the night although I know that it can be hard to relax that first night after such a quick birth.

Pinkflipflop85 · 27/10/2019 07:03

Had a hectic few days. Was readmitted friday morning 8am because waters had been gone for 36 hours. Labour suddenly kicked in too intensely so I had an emergency c section and baby was born at 11.05am.

She is in scbu and I am in HDU so I'm desperately waiting for cuddles!

givememarmite · 27/10/2019 07:13

Congratulations @Pinkflipflop85 ! Sorry to hear it didn't all go to plan and hope you get your cuddles very soon. All the best for your recovery x

Aurora79 · 27/10/2019 07:56

Congratulations @katmarie and @Pinkflipflop85! Sounds like pretty Intense days for both of you but amazing that your babies are here and fingers crossed you’ll get some lovely cuddles soon @pinkflipflop85!

Officially 40 weeks here today so once the rugby is over this morning I’m back to trying everything to get this bubba to come!!

amehh · 27/10/2019 07:59

Congratulations @katmarie and @Pinkflipflop85! Good luck to everyone else waiting. Partner gave me a lay in and I'm child free till 12 so if I could go into labour now whilst I'm well rested and just had a coffee that would be great please Grin

greeneyedlulu · 27/10/2019 08:59

Congratulations to kat and pink!!

ruralcat · 27/10/2019 09:45

I'm a little late to the thread. 39+2 today, washing the rest of the clothes today and packing our bag and then we're ready. Congratulations to those who have already had their babies.

BiscuitLover2391 · 27/10/2019 11:08

@GrumpyHoonMain maybe leave the sweep. Very mixed evidence it does anything and if you hate that kind of thing (me too) it probably isn't going to help release the oxytocin needed for labour. Im going to say no to mine.

Shewoman · 27/10/2019 11:09

Congratulations @katmarie and @Pinkflipflop85. Just took the dog for a walk and felt pains for most of the walk but now home and nothing, baby's back to wriggling about in there so think I just had a stitch or something. Will go for another walk in a bit though and drink some raspberry leaf tea!

BiscuitLover2391 · 27/10/2019 11:36

I sometimes feel like the raspberry leaf tea makes me a bit crampy, but nothing else!

Aurora79 · 27/10/2019 14:48

I’ve spent the morning bouncing on my ball, just had a 2 mile walk and now in a clary sage bath with a raspberry leaf tea. If all that doesn’t coax her out I think we’re in this for the long haul.......

jpclarke · 27/10/2019 15:02

I will be 39 weeks tomorrow booked in for c section on Friday. Dd was sick last night and now I don't feel great today but don't know if it's just the placebo effect of it. I have childcare plans in place for Friday so hoping baby cooperates with that date so trying to take it easy now. Having had previous sections it would not be good if I was to go into labour myself. Finally picked up the last few bits for hospital yesterday. I wake every night at 3.30am but this morning I was thrown because it was 2.30 then I remembered the clocks had changed so my body clock was still doing what it has been doing for the last few weeks. Starting to get terrified about the c section now. Lovely to hear some of you have your bundles of joy in your arms now.

amehh · 27/10/2019 17:08

I've been for a walk too and been halloween decorating the house, no clary sage for my bath but I do have mermaid bubble bath Grin don't think baby is coming today but you never know, been having an achy back on and off and terrible pressure when out walking.

Has anyone has loads of discharge (sorry TMI) but no plug? I've had it for a while and it's never a giant glob of anything but it's definitely stepped up a notch.

Hi all, thanks! It was a bit of a shock in the end, nothing happening at all and then, all of a sudden contractions every 90 seconds. I had loads of discharge, but no plug loss at all and my waters broke about 20 minutes before she was delivered, so the contractions were the only indicator really. Plus they were all very low in my bump and around my lower back, so I really didn't think they were full labour. I only went to the hospital because of how close together they were happening. Turns out the way she was lying to one side a bit meant it was all happening quite low down. Such a different experience to my first labour :)

imiss · 28/10/2019 09:34

@katmarie that sounds like a dream! Weird thing to say about labour but the idea of having it all start and progress quickly is what I'm willing to happen. No signs today. No cramps, plugs stopped coming and feel absolutely normal. I'm so fed up Sad might go for a swim and eating dates with raspberry leaf tea but I've tried every home remedy five times over and nothing is happening, same as last pregnancy so not sure why I'm still surprised!

Acupuncture tomorrow which Is new to me if anyone else has tried?

Aurora79 · 28/10/2019 09:45

@katmarie super quick labour! And good info for those of us still waiting that things can happen really quickly and that waters/plugs may not appear!

Still pregnant here. Officially overdue and trying to keep DSS entertained for half term while OH is at work, so at least i'm busy and not just rattling around the house waiting for something to happen! So bored of being pregnant though!

Shewoman · 28/10/2019 10:57

Went for sweep this morning and midwife said I'm about 1.5cm dilated and cervix is soft so at least things seem to be on the right track. No mucus plug, discharge etc though. Now just really willing something to happen, have my parents taking the kids out today and staying over tonight so fingers crossed...otherwise induction booked in for the 3rd.

Aurora79 · 28/10/2019 11:54

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction @shewoman!

If I get one more text asking if the baby has come I’ll scream! My friend has also just texted saying the baby is going to be a 9lb+ whopper. Thanks for that, making me feel loads better Angry.

Shewoman · 28/10/2019 12:03

I know, same here, am quite relieved not to be doing the school run this week as so fed up of the comments!

Aurora79 · 28/10/2019 12:09

It’s so frustrating! Doesn’t help that I’m completely out of maternity clothes and refusing to buy any more on principle so feeling bleugh and a mess generally too as well as feeling massive!

Shewoman · 28/10/2019 13:05

Same here Aurora, hate getting dressed every day and no coat fits properly either so just making do for now.
