Firststar - what an unusual name! Sounds cool. What is the origin?

Jules - my mum is much better. Apparently the tumour is less than half the size, but she started radiotherapy yesterday to her lung and head. She's had it before so we have an idea of what to expect, unfortunately. It completely wiped her out last time and she's petrified that it is going to affect her brain/personality. Wish I was at home today - lucky you! Is your work quite physically demanding or is it fairly sedentary?

Bluddi hell! That must be difficult, being pg... I remember my doctor saying to try to avoid lifting heavy things - can you avoid lifting things or are you stuck with it?

Hmm... I had visions of a woman in a set of muddy overalls and a hard hat, lugging bricks up a ladder in one of those shoulder things (hod carrier?)! Pleased to hear that isn't quite you!!

Feedmenow · 16/08/2007 19:22

Evening all. Well, my fears were indeed false, thank the lord. Baby measuring perfectly for me being 9 weeks tomorrow, limb buds and even fingers visible. I know that there is always going to be a slight risk but I know it reduces dramatically after about 8 weeks, so I feel so relieved to be here now. Only another 3 weeks and 4 days to go til 12 week scan!

Springtime, welcome aboard! Although it unfortunately sounds like you are a bit of an expert on all this

Oh Uki! Can you hear us? What's happening?

Thank you all for the positive thoughts that came my way today. It really is appreciated!

Jules, working for a property developer eh? Surrounded by lots of hunky hands-on men eh? I work for a steel fabricator - only woman, surrounded by men! I actually met my dp there about 12 years ago! And one of the men who is retiring this month has started referring to himself as my boyfriend, and asks when I'm taking him for dinner

ANyway, I've exhausted myself with worry the past couple of days, so am going to have some toast then go top bed. Night all!
