Depsite all my moaning about lack of bump, I THINK I might have felt baby move yesterday. Is that possible at 15+4?

My mate is PG and apparently you can feel stuff from 14 weeks so yes, it is.

fettleandminifettle · 15/08/2007 11:03

Hi all

Sorry too much to catch up on after 4 days out of contact - hope everyone is doing ok?

Anything important happened I should know about (apart from the new thread!)

Rubles - great to see you are back with us. Lucky you being off work already!! I've still got 2.5 weeks left til I stop.

Moved into new house yesterday and still surrounded by boxes and boxes - not quite sure where it is all going to go. this is our 5th move in 6 years and definitely feels like the worse - probably because I'm 8 months pg. Had some more (very very tiny amount) spotting since Friday, but as I can feel baby moving well, hospital said not to bother coming in. But feel really unsettled as I'm currently between doctors (can't make an appointment with doctor until Friday, as it will take til then to be registered!!). Definitely would not recommend moving when this pg and when you are more concerned about your pg due to prevous mc!

However, we're finally living in our own house again and it will be lovely once we are organised! Just hope little one stays inside until then!

Anyway, enough about me - the important thing is that little one is moving around happily - have another scan next Tuesday, so get to see him again. And I have a lovely DH!

UKI - how you doing today? Happy due date to you!!

take care all

Fettle - it's been a long time! That spotting sounds very unnerving. I take it your placenta is high up enough and they cannot see a reason for the spotting on a scan? I'll bet you are really alert to the movements now.
Do you have much to do to the house or is it just a case of unpacking? How has your dd taken the move, does she just take it in her stride?

We are exchanging on our new house (3 months later than planned) and will be moving on August 29th - a month before my due date . It has not worked out how I wanted at all and I am quite stressed out about it. To make matters worse for my dd, we will have the house move the week before she starts pre-school, so within the space of a month she is going to have a new house a new school and a new baby! Things couldn't have been more stressful if I had tried. Any advice on smoothing the way for her would be much appreciated...not sure what I can do really.

EllieG I hope it works for you. It is like swallowing liquid toothpaste, but my goodness I think it is worth it to take away the heartburn.

fettleandminifettle · 15/08/2007 17:05

Hey Rubles - snap!!

We're moving house, DD starts new pre-school in 3 weeks, then a little brother arrives 3 weeks after that!!! (assuming he doesn't make an early arrival, with all the unpacking!!). DD is so far taking everything in her stride - a bit unsettled and bit naughty - but i think mainly because she is bored. Should have sent her to nursery today, but it would have meant a 120 miles on the car and just didn't seem worth it!

Everyone I've spoken to says they are really resilient at this age, so will cope. i think it is us mother's who will be more on edge!! Definitely been arguing more with DH, but I feel so frustrated that there is so little that I can do. With my pelvic pain, I can't get on the floor and sort things out.

Luckily there isn't much decorating to do to the house, but we've knocked the wall down between the kitchen and dining-room, so still have to finish that off and put new units and floor in - nothing major!!.
And the garden is a blank canvas of grass and weeds, so must do something with that, but methinks that can wait for a while!!. So long since we've lived in our own house -normally we can't do anything to army quarters unless we put it back the way it was when we move out, which makes it just seem to hard!!

Anyway, must go cook supper.

Wonder how UKI is? I know she's on a different time zone to us though!

take care all

ejt1764 · 15/08/2007 17:30

Hi all ... just checking in - and letting you know that all is fine - I went to see them at the MLU today - the pool was in use so I couldn't check to see whther I could get in and out - but apparently if I can get in the hydro pool / my own bath, then I can get in the birthing pool, so that's one more thing checked off my list.

I now have it officially written in my notes that I have 'declined the clu package of care for vbac', and that I am booked for delivery in the mlu - as long as baby is head down at birth - she's breech at the moment, but there's plenty of time and room for her to move, so not too worried right now about that - the acupuncturist will have a go at shifting her if necessary, and they'll try ECV too.

I'm off this weekend - I'm going to the Festival of Quilts at the NEC - I've hired an electric scooter to get around in, and I'm staying at the Hilton at the NEC - sharing a room with my mum (she snores!!!) - but the upside is that there is a pool there - which I plan to make good use of!

See you next week - hope all goes well for everybody!

hotchoc · 15/08/2007 18:57

hi everyone

thought i'd lost you but now you are found, phew.

just to say hello

hotchoc

Bouncingturtle · 16/08/2007 06:28

Hey EJT - enjoy your weekend, and try not to run anyone olve
Hotchoc - long time no see, hope you are well! How's your mum doing?
Fettle - I don't envy you moving house is stressful at anytime but at 8 months pg! I hope you have lots of strong backs helping you out
Rubles - good luck to you on your forthcoming housemove as well.
Ellie - I take the peppermint gaviscon, it's okay. I also keep a pack of rennie's or rapeze in my handbag for when I'm out and about.
Hi to everyone else!

I'm okay, except keep getting a stitch like pain above my righ hip, which often feels stiff and painful if I lie or sit or stand for long periods! Walking is a chore too, can't seem to walk as fast as I used to, now I walk like an arthritic 80yo lol. Hate to think what I'll be like at 40 weeks (I'm 21+4 now!!)

Bouncingturtle · 16/08/2007 06:29

olve? I meant over!!

rubles · 16/08/2007 07:53

UKI has gone quiet - dare we hope she has had/is having her baby??

Fettle - I know what you mean about being frustrated about not being able to do more. Although I don't have SPD or any pelvic pain I can't move fast or do much without getting out of puff, so although there are loads of things that need to be done and I want to be whizzing around doing them, I am dependent on dp to do stuff and he is knackered from working really long hours so he doesn't really get much done. You just need to hold your baby in there for a few more weeks and the units/flooring should be done.

Ejt - I'm glad you are getting into the MLU and they say you can get in the pool. Must be quite a relief for you. Have a good weekend - take some earplugs for your mother's snoring. Have you seen that "breechwatch" thread? I cast an eye over it, as although it is still early for me too (nearly 33 weeks), I am starting to be fairly watchful of my baby's position, willing it to go head down soon.

Bouncingturtle - I hope that isn't the beginnings of any spd you are experiencing. There seems to be a lot of it on MN, which makes me realise how common it is - I've not met anyone in RL who has had it.

EllieG · 16/08/2007 08:59

Ejt - a festival of quilts sounds lovely and comfy, makes me want to go to sleep. But then, everything does at the moment. Have a lovely time!

MerlinsBeard · 16/08/2007 10:10

hope it goes well for you today feedmenow xx

Hello everyone! Good title, by the way... Haven't looked at the old thread yet to see what's been going on...

Uki - hope that all is well with you and looking forward to hearing of the safe arrival of your lo in due course. Fingers crossed, you might already have your baby in your arms by now!

VV - I felt this baby moving at around 12 weeks so definitely possible that you're feeling the baby.

Rubles/Fettle - one of the advantages of having lots on when you're pg is the energy that nesting brings! But make sure you don't overdo it. Had dh's 40th on Saturday and spent the last two days sitting on the sofa watching films and knitting baby blanket for no. 2. It absolutely wiped me out and I didn't actually have to do anything!

Feedmenow - I hope that your scan goes/is going well and that you have some positive news!

EJT - pleased to hear that you're booked in at the MLU. It's starting to get scarily real now, isn't it?

Jules - glad to hear you are nursing a baby bump! That must be reassuring. Not long now until your scan...

Bouncingturtle - I've been getting pains just above my hip too. I think that bubba is trapping a nerve or something, but it bluddi well hurts. Especially as I when I am doing my 25 minute walk from the station to my office!

EllieG - I have some gaviscon advance tablets for emergencies - fortunately, I don't seem to get much heartburn in pg - and it is like eating soap. The cure is almost worse than the problem!!

Hello to everyone else! Still taking my iron/folic acid supplements and feeling like I'm positively bouncing around with energy compared to a couple of weeks ago. The wonders of modern medicine... Have a m/w appointment booked for a couple of weeks time to sort out the risk assessment for my planned home birth, but am fully expecting to be talked out of it by dh who is already cr*pping himself at the idea of being away from the resources of the hospital. That's a discussion that needs to happen!!

Springflower · 16/08/2007 13:37

Hello, wonder if I can join in here? I've been on the due in april board but think that anything I write is going to sound really negative to people who havent had a mc and dont want to make them anxious. I've had 3 mc, 2 of them mmc, most recent one in march when i found out at 11 weeks. My problem is that for 2 of them I've seen heart beats at 7 and 9 weeks and then gone on to mc. I do have 3 DS's though so I am really lucky. I'm due 4 April and have a scan at the EPU at 8 1/2 weeks so I'm really just trying not to think about it too much until then but I know that even if that went well I wont be confident. Oh well, one step at a time I guess. I also have no symptoms which doesnt help although I have never really had much even with DS's. Anyway, will try to be positive about this time...

EllieG · 16/08/2007 13:42

Hey springflower - am also due April and scared stiff! You are not alone.

Hello Springflower and welcome to this thread. It is scary, but this thread is proof of the fact that you are not alone in being petrified (!) and, as Firststar says, that having a successful pg after m/c is entirely possible...

On that note - hello there, Firststar!! How are you doing? Are you posting on the success after m/c thread? I am amazed that you're finding time to post at all... Sorry if you already said this on the other thread, but what did you end up calling ds?

my1stbaby · 16/08/2007 15:04

Hello everyone. Been off-line for a few days and thought that I'd lost you guys. But found you again so all is well

Have been having a fairly stressful time recently with work and health so haven't had much chance to log on to MN. On a good note, bleeding seems to have stopped completely but I'm not so sure if the little one is ok. My bloatedness has gone down considerably and nausea comes and goes now. DH has arranged another scan for me next Tue as he can see I am fretting about it and it's not doing me any good. I wish I can stop worrying...

Sorry haven't been able to catch up with everybody's goings on but a quick skim through seems to suggest all is well.

A hearty welcome to Springflower and also EllieG.

Jules: thanks for remembering me. I'm jealous of your tummy stretchy feeling. I'm 10+3 today, if anything bump has gone down! Hmm, should I worry???

MrsMcJnr · 16/08/2007 15:38

Uki ? I wonder if your 16/8 hope will come true

Hey Rubles ? I must be going mad don?t remember posting about Spain. Not at all worried about heat, in fact, it won?t be hot enough when we go I grew up there and love the hottest months ? we go end of Sept so the weather might be a bit hit and miss, we?ll see. Must be lovely to be 'on the bench' probably just as well, it sounds like you are going to have a lot on your plate with the move etc!

Happy Anniversary PLP

Hang in there Bella

Feedmenow ? thinking of you at the scan and sending lots of positive vibes

Bouncing ? there is no way I?d drink the water in Spain sorry to hear about your work mine is the same really stressful, loads of politics, I seem to be in everyone?s bad books although I haven?t done a thing ? am having a really insecure day, guess I am still upset about the HR woman and on top of that my boss (male crap one) is being an arse I wish I didn?t have to have a job after mat leave but I do

EllieG ? never suffered from heartburn so can?t help, hope it gets better it?s a good sign too! Don?t hang on to what your friend said about feeling things at 14 weeks, that is really early and unlikely with a first, at 18+2 I am feeling sensations but not definite kicks yet, everyone is different though.

Angua nice to see you, everything crossed for a great scan on 31/8.

VV ? how exciting! definitely possible to feel movements at your stage, especially as it isn?t your first.

Hey Fettle hope you?ll be really happy in your new home all fine here hopefully, looking forward to MW next Weds to hear the heartbeat again. Glad the move went well, I hope we move before I get as far along as you. Hope the spotting is easing off too.

Hello Winkygirl, Bluebell, MOM, Jules & Hot choc ? how are things?

Ejt ? glad all is well. Sounds like all your plans are coming together, enjoy your weekend!

Hello Mumpbump ? glad to hear you feel better

Welcome Springflower and congratulations sorry to hear about the MCs stick with us, we?ll look after you.

Hey Firsty how are you? It must be hard for your DH being back at work too

My1stbaby ? hello sorry that things have been stressful take care of you, not long now until the scan on Tues

Just can?t believe that I am into the 5th Month! I so hope that all goes well for my beanie at the next scan, I am excited but still so scared.
