Reposting this in the new thread!

@MrsH497 Great to see those 3+ come up!

@ELW85 I still haven’t watched it - my mum called round really early to help shift some stuff to the tip - think I’ll have to watch tonight instead!

@MrsR16 So lovely of your in-laws to get that whole bundle for you!! Ours haven’t offered us a thing!!

@BostonFern Oh yes we hit up the IKEA restaurant so definitely not a wasted trip haha! So glad you are feeling better. Hope all goes well today! Ooh interesting - I’ve been looking at the Joie 360 seat! I may pop in to a Halfords and take a look at them properly!

@cupcakesandglitter Oh fab! I’m looking forward to it, try a few things out and maybe pick up some bargains!!

@purplefig I don’t know whether to get any Spritz for Bits as my chance of a natural birth is much lower than ‘normal’ but my friends who had a natural birth and especially those who had tears swore by it! Ahh fab! Our pram arrives this week so if we get it up before November I’ll let you know what it’s like! From other users I’ve been told just to make sure you also get the puncture kit, they’re really cheap online though! I’m so excited for your scan tomorrow! Do you have any hunches as to the sex at all?

@thumper59 You look fabulous!! Sorry to hear you’re so uncomfortable now. You’re hiding it well!!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/09/2019 12:54

Thanks for the new thread @MrsEG ❤️ yeah I'm hoping to get some bargains too! I've not really looked much into pushchairs so I'm hoping to get a good look too! X

@thumper59 you look INSANE!!! Dress is gorgeous too xx

thumper59 · 23/09/2019 13:01

@MrsEG thanks for the new thread! And Thankyou I'm feeling not so grand today 😂

@cupcakesandglitter Thankyou 🥰. I loose track of what everyone is after in pushchairs as everyone has such different requirements!! My requirements weren't very particular but we have gone for the mamas and papas occaro bundle in Panama grey. It's all built at my parents and I love it 🙂 simple enough for me to do ( tend to be ditzy with stuff like that!😂) and easy enough to get in and out of my car! I'm soooo excited to use it xx

ELW85 · 23/09/2019 13:02

@MrsEG - thank you for the new thread!!
I hope you enjoy watching it; can’t wait to hear what you think of it!!

MrsH497 · 23/09/2019 13:11

@MrsEG thanks for the new thread!

MrsR16 · 23/09/2019 13:22

@cupcakesandglitter we've got pretty much everything that we could need (including a tommee tippee perfect prep machine!) so that if baby arrived super early we could cope. The one thing I want to get is a baby bath although my mum recommended I get a big washing up bowl instead! 😂

@purplefig wow, halfway already?!? Crazy! So existing though!

@thumper59 you always look stunning whatever you wear! So beautiful! There's me chilling in my dungarees at the weekends 😂

@MrsEG thanks for the new thread, lovely! Some parents don't... we've been lucky in that my parents wanted to get our cot, so we haven't had to fork out for the big ticket items, meaning we can spend more on other bits, which is wonderful. This is my DH's parents' first grandchild, so they are just so excited!

thumper59 · 23/09/2019 13:31

@MrsR16 aw Thankyou that is so kind 🥰 today I have on my work scruffs and my hair scraped into a pony tail 😂. What baby bath do you think you'll go for? I ended up getting the angel care bath thingy (it's not the seat it's the one for newborns) but I deliberated over it for ages and still keep debating about getting a bath for when he is very new!

purplefig · 23/09/2019 13:33

@MrsEG Thanks for the new thread! I've just checked and you can get Spritz for Bits on amazon prime - so you could always wait and see. Ooo yes definitely let me know how you get on with the pram, good to know about the puncture kit too. I have a feeling it's a boy, though prior to getting pregnant I always had a feeling my first would be a girl. But literally everyone is convinced it's a boy, to the point I'll be genuinely shocked if it does turn out to be a girl. (Which is mad, because obviously it's not based on anything logical)!

@thumper59 I'm sorry but how is it possible you look this glam at 34 weeks?!!?!?!! Sorry you're feeling uncomfortable - have you got a pregnancy pillow? (Probably a stupid question).

@ELW85 Ahhh that's not too long to have to wait. I think we're having a boy too. I know - I can't believe we've reached the halfway point already! I'm feeling really good at the mo thanks - eating regularly and as such I've had no headaches which has been BLISS. You should totally go to Downton Abbey on your own - I did and there were so many women on their own who obviously couldn't convince their partners Grin.

@MrsR16 You are organised!! We got a baby bath at the nearly new sale as DH had read about them in his 'Pregnancy For Men' book and said they came highly recommended!

thumper59 · 23/09/2019 13:34

I just found this list from a few threads back, and I've copied down from after the grads ( although I can't add them as not entirely sure when babies did come!) thought it might be easier for us to have here and for the ladies from the last 2 threads to add due dates on 🙂

@purplefig aw Thankyou that's so kind! I do, it's a god sent! It's the body caterpillar one from Asda. It is really comfy but laying on my side I wake up numb so have to swap sides and if I lay too low I get acid reflux 😬. At least the end is in sight!

People was exactly the same about mine being a boy. I was the same as you, and he was a boy! X

MrsEG · 23/09/2019 13:43

@cupcakesandglitter I know someone who got their pram insanely cheap at a baby show as they asked to buy the one on display! It was only taken out of the box for the display that weekend!

@thumper59 Some days just call for work scruffs! I’m WFH in leggings and an old t-shirt!

@ELW85 Will be watching tonight and sharing my thoughts!!

@MrsR16 it’s our in-laws first grandchildren too! Honestly I never wanted or expected them to fund anything at all, we’d never have gotten pregnant if we could get everything ourselves - but I have to admit I am surprised by it. They don’t even seem that excited after scans etc - the last time we sent over scan photos all they said was that they couldn’t make out what they were looking at. But sometimes I think that’s just what they are like! When they saw our wedding venue all she said was ‘It’s certainly different’ and that was that!!

@purplefig I think Amazon prime is going to be a godsend in those early weeks haha! Oh I’m so excited for you - is your scan early on in the day?

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 23/09/2019 13:53

@thumper59 I have no idea! I started looking the other day and never realised there was so much choice when it came to a bath!! 😂

@purplefig it's been a case of being lucky more than anything! I'm never normally this organised with anything at all - Christmas shopping I always leave to the last minute hehe!

@MrsEG that sounds very strange! Sounds like they get inwardly excited but have no idea how to express it outwardly...

Tropicana1 · 23/09/2019 14:38

Hey ladies! Thanks for the new thread @MrsEG - I managed to get myself hacked out of my emails so and it's been a nightmare sorting everything I got locked out of back! I swear baby brain has made me more gullible - followed one of those bloody scam things on Facebook messenger like an idiot 😂🙈

Hi everyone!

I've had a bit of a MN hiatus for a couple of weeks as have been though to Glasgow for conference and course the last 2 weeks so have been mega knackered and had absolutely no free time!

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat! Finally starting to feel real now!! I don't even have a hint of a bump yet and the look on people's faces when I say I'm 4 months is amusing.

I'll have a proper read through and catch up later!!

Was just about to post this on the previous thread.. @MrsEG Thanks for the new one 😀 My DD is now 10th Feb

@BostonFern that's the same car seat we're thinking of because of the reclining function and my parents moving an hour and half away it meant less scheduled stops on the way to theirs. Let me know what you think ones babas here and in it??

@thumper59 you're looking great in that dress! I'm looking forward to my maternity dresses fitting better, atm the bump room is a bit too roomy and just makes me look fatter!

@purplefig I can't believe we're half way! These last few weeks have flown so fast! I'm off to see Downton with my mum soon.

This thread moves SO quickly you guys!!

My nausea has come back a bit today but I’ve also got a weird craving for saag paneer though 🤔

BostonFern · 23/09/2019 15:54

Thanks for setting up the thread @MrsEG

@thumper59 you're looking fabulous!

Oh no @Tropicana1 !

@LikeTheFruit bet it was lovely to hear the heartbeat

@BabySquid will certainly let you know how the car seat it going once baby is here. One of the chaps in Halfords was raving about it, he's loved it for his daughter.

Midwife appointment went well, baby is growing well and is about 3lb 13oz now according to the growth chart, heard his heart beat at a nice 130bpm too. I'm so lucky my midwives are lovely (there's always two at the appointments, not sure if that's the same everywhere?).

LikeTheFruit · 23/09/2019 16:08

@BostonFern it was so lovely to hear it. I was checking my own pulse at the same time making sure it definitely wasn't me!
She could feel my uterus too which was at a reassuring height, going to have a poke about when I get home 😂😂. So glad you had a good appointment too, I only see one midwife.

PippaPug · 23/09/2019 16:21

This thread moves so quickly!
Thanks @MrsEG!

RE Spritz for bitz - my friend ended up making her own and it was so much cheaper and she said was just as effective ☺️ Also car seats we are looking at what which recommends - we want to do extended rear facing as I believe it’s better so want to see which car seats have been rated the best for that.

The GTT went fine, the drink wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and it’s just a bit of a wait at the hospital (and I was rather hungry!) sorry I can’t remember who asked, as it was on the other thread but the pain from the fibroid has completely gone which is great.

@purplefig - was Downton Abby good? I have re watched It all to remind me myself what happened!

LokiCat · 23/09/2019 16:35

@PippaPug thank you! It is a huge relief and I was so, so happy we got to see such a lovely scan. I've definitely had the biggest grin on my face all day today 😁
I hope the glucose test went okay. I supposed to have one on my 16 week appointment. Ahh will you get another chance to see the babies on Wednesday? How lovely!

@MrsEG thank you! I definitely wouldn't be able to hold out. My best friend whose around the same weeks as me will be waiting till her 12 week scan. I think I'd have gone a bit crazy with the worry! Hope the baby show is useful.
I was looking at car seats last night. I'm swaying towards the Maxi Cosi (either Cabriofix or Pebble). From what I've read they're pretty popular and seem to be compatible with many different prams, as well. It is so confusing how many different types of each item there are! So difficult to know where to start!!

@MrsH497 ahh how lovely to see 3+ weeks!!
I'm glad I went in for the early scan, I felt so much better! I had one at 6+5 at the EPU due to spotting, but couldn't see much. I agree with @ELW85 that 8-9 weeks is best because it'll actually look more like a baby then.

@ELW85 I think I'm swaying towards the Ocarro, as well. There were some great bundle deals for it on the Bournemouth Baby Centre website (with car seats).

@MrsR16 that's brilliant! A great deal and how lovely of them to get that for you.
My parents have also offered to get us a pram bundle, so have been browsing different deals online!

@BostonFern thank you! Glad your midwife appointment went well :)

@cupcakesandglitter thank you!! 😊 I hope you've been feeling better?

@purplefig it was so great seeing the baby! I started up tearing up as soon as the sonographer pointed out the heartbeat and little arms/legs. I've never been this emotional!
Can't believe you're already halfway! Where has the time gone?! So excited for you to find out what you're having tomorrow!!

@thumper59 ahh you look beautiful! I always love the dresses you're wearing, they suit you and the bump so well. Sorry to hear you've been feeling uncomfortable though.

@LikeTheFruit ahh how amazing you got the hear the heartbeat. That must have been so lovely!

Sorry if I missed anyone, the new thread has already moved so quickly!

Those who have been to baby shows, did you find the deals were better than on websites? Debating whether to get tickets to one in London in November. The one after isn't until March and I think that'll be quite late!

MrsEG · 23/09/2019 16:40

@MrsR16 I honestly think that’s what it is; sometimes I can get a bit upset about their lack of excitement about things but DH says it’s just their way, they are excited they just show it in a very different way to my family (who are all extremely emotional and would cry over anything - my Mum told me today sometimes she just sits and looks at our scan photos with a brew 🙈)
So lovely you’ve had so many big buys as a gift, what a loved baby you have already!!

Oh @Tropicana1 what a nightmare haha! Glad to have you back! I get the baby brain; DH sent me to the shop yesterday for bin bags and I came back with milk and polo mints. I was so sure that’s what he’d asked for!!

@LikeTheFruit Hearing the heartbeat is amazing isn’t it!! Lots of people don’t get a bump til post-20 weeks - enjoy your clothes still fitting now while you can haha!

@ELW85 So I watched it! Work is super quiet so I put it on. I really enjoyed it but I feel a bit cheated by the ending!! Who were those guys?!

@BostonFern Ahh fabulous! Nice weight already! I have two midwives but usually one of them is a student. All always so lovely too!

purplefig · 23/09/2019 16:43

@thumper59 ooo thanks for the pillow rec, I'll check it out. And I'll let you know if my/everyone's predictions are right tomorrow evening.

@MrsEG I think you're right. And there's me trying to curb my addiction. Not going to happen I fear! The scan is at midday, but I'm out for the rest of the day (and no mumsnet app!) so I'll update you all in the evening as soon as I'm home Grin. I think in-laws are tricky, because even when they are 'nice', it's not the family culture you grew up in and know. Mine are tricky most of the time (so, so many complex reasons as to why!), but they did mention the other week they'd like to buy something (e.g. pushchair or cot) for the baby. Like you, it's not expected but it was nice of them.

@LikeTheFruit Hi again! Glad to hear you're doing well. I didn't have much of a bump at all at 16 weeks and even now at 20 I'm not sure you'd know I was pregnant unless I was wearing something tight.

@BabySquid Due date twins! Grin Enjoy Downton, it was great getting to soak up the ambiance and opulence of it all on the big screen. Suited it very well.

@ELW85 OMG don't. Now all I want is saag paneer. Mmmmm. Do you know, that's just made me realise I haven't had one takeaway this whole pregnancy (according to my, admittedly a bit shit, memory). Hmm...hmmm indeed!!!

@BostonFern Glad your midwife appointment went well. Ooo two midwives too, very nice! I've only ever had the one.

@PippaPug I really enjoyed it thanks - it seems like a show made for the glamour of the big screen. Unlike you I didn't watch anything or even read a recap, so I kept on getting my memory jogged mid film. Great news about the fibroid!

Have a lovely evening everyone! I've got a bit of work to finish up, then off for a dog walk with DH. Stir-fry for dinner tonight, but thanks to @ELW85 all I want is a huge Indian takeaway with lashings of saag paneer. Oh and I've just realised I'm doubly excited for tomorrow: scan and a new episode of The Capture - what a day! X
