Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

Hi all, hope it's okay if I jump in. I am 29, got a 3yr old and a suprise 2nd baby on the way. Dates haven't been confirmed, but estimated mid-February due date. Got a scan in a couple of weeks and will know for sure then.

Symptoms have been much worse this time round, any other mums on 2nd+ pregnancy notice a drastic difference in their pregnancies early on? 1st was so easy, this time round I haven't stopped being sick and my boobs are so tender, not to mention the tiredness. Naps are a must!

I've been having a read through, and it's so lovely to see the pics of the scans coming through. It's reassuring to read so many people at the same place and having the same experiences as me.

Take care!

@purplefig mine sounds the same as @lovesT’s bump, lower down and out to the belly button. My mum said “gosh you’re really showing!” when I saw her earlier 🙈😂 Guess my stomach muscles are weak as shit lol.
Thanks @bessie84 I will def let you know! Ooh exciting number five, did you ever guess any of your other children correctly? X

hazandduck · 25/07/2019 15:37

@MissLozzie yep the exact same with me. With my daughter it was a comparative breeze, no sickness, my appetite didn’t really change I just bobbed along happily, I had headaches and sciatica but they came later! My main symptom with her was just fatigue. This time oh my word I’ve felt like crap! Headaches already, migraines, nausea, have to eat most of the time, exhausted, and I cry at the drop of a hat, no exaggeration. DH said to me last night “I think if this was what you’d been like with Dd we wouldn’t be having another baby.” It’s so true. Never again! Two children is enough for me 😄

Dweebette · 25/07/2019 15:48

So lovely to see some scan pics, can't believe we're getting to 12 weeks among us, so exciting! I'm 10+2 by LMP but 9+3 going by scan on Monday so I feel like I've been robbed 😂 seem to have a bit more energy these past 2 days (though the heat is a killer) but still can't eat properly, everything just makes me feel sick

I am huge, it's horrendous. I've actually lost weight (2.2lbs in the past fortnight) but I'm so swollen, my trousers no longer close. Actually wore unbuttoned trousers to work today with a long, loose top 😂 it's so weird, my symptoms have been so strong from so early on, is this normal??? Am I imagining things?

AprilFernLouise · 25/07/2019 18:41

Hi all....when you have the '12 week scan' I know they give you a more accurate due date but do they also change how many weeks you are? So you could to from being 12 weeks to being 10?? This seems so disappointing lol when the first tri seems so long anyway!!

Dweebette · 25/07/2019 19:12

@AprilFernLouise my understanding is that they do, but this is my first pregnancy and I haven't been yet. I just know that at my early scan on Monday she changed me from 9+6 to 9

OrangeSlices998 · 25/07/2019 20:12

Yes they could, however it would be unusual unless you really had no idea when your period was and so you were basing your estimate of how far along you were on a guess. Being two weeks in size behind at this gestation if your cycles were regular would be a bit more worrying as all babies at 12 weeks are more or less the same size. Typically your due date will be changed by a few days if at all.

Cupcakes1234 · 25/07/2019 21:04

@AprilFernLouise yeah they can change your dates slightly. With my first from my LMP I was 12 weeks and 5 days when I went for my scan, expecting them to put me back a few days that actually put me forward to exactly 13 weeks. No idea how it works but he was 11 days late in the end anyway lol

AprilFernLouise · 25/07/2019 21:35

Thanks all that's good to know, I do know when my period was so hopefully as you say it may only be a minor change if any 😊

ManicPerchant19 · 26/07/2019 12:39

Finally feeling brave enough to join in! 12 weeks tomorrow, have had a couple of scares but scan yesterday looked good and doc was happy with what she saw so I guess I have to start feeling a little hopeful. History of recurrent miscarriage hence the apprehension, but getting to the 12 week mark is a huge milestone for me - never made it this far before! Would love to join the FB group too for the support! 😊

ImMeantToBeWorking · 26/07/2019 12:54

@ManicPerchant19 welcome and congrats. Sorry to hear about your previous loses.

If you message @tisonlymeagain with your name and profile pic she will add you to the group. (she has to ad you as a friend to do this).

Best of luck over the next few months!! Grin

ManicPerchant19 · 26/07/2019 13:27

Brill, thanks @ImMeantToBeWorking I'll do that so! I think I've seen from the chat you're in Ireland too?

ImMeantToBeWorking · 26/07/2019 14:03

@ManicPerchant19 I am indeed. Whoooo more Irish people joining. There is only two of us Irish in the group! Where abouts are you based?

Savvysaz · 26/07/2019 18:21

Hello all

Bit worried as discovered dark brown spotting in my underwear this afternoon. No cramps. I phoned my GP and they told me to phone maternity hospital and they've asked me to come in Sunday for a scan. I'm 9 weeks today. Trying to stay calm ....

RobynC19 · 26/07/2019 18:47

Can I join I had an early scan and just found out I'm a few days ahead now 8 weeks 6 days so I'm due feb 29th 2019

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
ManicPerchant19 · 26/07/2019 18:50

@ImMeantToBeWorking I'm Dublin based - so much more fortunate with the access to services!

@Savvysaz i had this too at 9 weeks and it turned out to just be the remains of a small clot working it's way out. Brown blood is old blood - I would definitely stay calm unless you see bright red and feel cramping. You might have just had a big growth spurt and pushed some old stuff out!

Savvysaz · 26/07/2019 19:18

@ManicPerchant19 thanks for the response and reassurance! Nothing more and that's been 3.5 hrs since I first saw spotting

ManicPerchant19 · 26/07/2019 19:28

no worries @Savvysaz - i know only too well what it's like - mine was red as well so I went into full blown panic mode and straight into the maternity ED, that gut wrenching feeling is just awful. At least you'll get a scan now Sunday and hopefully see your little bean beating away!

OccasionalNachos · 27/07/2019 06:20

Is it nearly time for a new thread? Smile

I’ve been absent for a couple of weeks, anxiety was getting the better of me. Had my dating scan though & all is well - there’s definitely a baby there! Only downside was wrong position to do the nuchal test, she tried for ages but wasn’t confident to get an accurate measurement. So I have to go for a blood test in a couple of weeks. Not overly concerned but taking one day at a time, still.

I also got my dates changed & now due 28 January, but I’d still like to stick with the Feb 2020 gang I think given that it will probably tick over into February anyway.

Good to see lots of new folk, congratulations to all!

MissLozzie · 27/07/2019 19:47

Hi all, hope you're keeping fine. I've had a massive outbreak of ulcers on my lips and gums, did not know that could happen due to hormones changing. Definitely vastly different to my 1st pregnancy. To be honest, it's been pretty miserable so far!

@Savvysaz hope your scan goes well!

bessie84 · 27/07/2019 20:22

@MissLozzie - snap with ulcers. Very grim arent they. Bleurg.

@hazandduck - hope your enjoying wedding n not too buggared. And Yes ive guessed 3 out of 4 so far correctly.

XX

MissLozzie · 27/07/2019 21:02

@bezzie84 yes very. Under my upper lip has 4 of them, not counting all the others, and I kinda look like I've been punched. Talking hurts, so at least OH gets a bit of a break from listening to my constant chatter Grin

MissLozzie · 27/07/2019 21:08

Whoops, apologies, tagged the wrong username lol! Sorry @bessie84, should look before I post! x

bessie84 · 27/07/2019 21:22

@MissLozzie - no you were right replying to me. 🤣 the upper lip ones sound sooooo sore!! Have you tried salt water? Or Corsodyl x
