Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

@purplefig the meeting actually went ok, I had to get up to open the windows cause I felt sick, but managed to keep myself composed. I felt horrible all evening though. Woke up hungry this morning which is a great sign though. How are you feeling today?

@Dweebette eggs were my go to as they are healthy, filling, and you can do so much with them. I bout 20 on Monday, and now the thought of them is turning my stomach. I made some scrambled on Monday and I couldn't finish them.

Quirkyquichie · 10/07/2019 14:50

Hi bessie, i think i know the taste you're talking about, i had that in my first pregnancy, it lasted until the 4 month mark. I could smell it, my mum suggested those those mentholated crystals, although igot confused at the chemist and i asked for crystal meth Hmm they seemed to know what i was on about though. Anyway, they didn't really do much for me, i still couldn't smell them over the awful taste in my nose/throat. I couldn't eat anything, it all tasted the horrible same taste. I haven't ever had that since, and this will be number 4. Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion

bessie84 · 10/07/2019 15:20

@Quirkyquichie - made me laugh out loud 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thank you for that.
Ive read about the metallic taste but its just horrid. Forever brushing my teeth but then that makes me gag 🤢

Quirkyquichie · 10/07/2019 17:09

I wouldn't even say it was the metallic taste everyone has tbh, it was defo worse than licking a 9v battery Grin

lovesT · 10/07/2019 19:13

@bessie84 brushing my teeth makes me gag too 😢 I also have a horrible cough at the moment so that combined with brushing teeth makes me feel sick in the morning, thankfully haven't actually been sick but had to stop this morning because I felt like I might be .. horrible isn't it!

Hopex92 · 11/07/2019 10:41

Hey all just checking in. How's everyone doing? I'm 10+3 now and I'm not feeling symptoms anymore and if I do it's so mild. Doctor said I'm lucky and enjoy it but I can't it's stressing me out, why don't I feel things.. Its like I want to feel sick etc so I know baby still ok. 12 week scans on 25th July and I'm actually so scared about it :(

bessie84 · 11/07/2019 11:15

@lovesT - oh no! the cough will definately make your gagging worse :( hope it goes soon. xx

@Hopex92 - Im 11 weeks today, symptoms only mild when they come for me too. stresses me also. my 12 week scan is day before you, on 24th. wishing time away!

Danimarie · 11/07/2019 11:50

Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join? I am 10+5 today and have my first scan on 22 July! :) x

Bettythecat · 11/07/2019 13:12

@bessie84 @Hopex92 I think all we ever hear is that pregnant women feel horrendous from beginning to end and obviously those that feel crap are more vocal about it because they need the support but it's also totally normal to feel normal. As my mum keeps reminding me it's a normal process and we aren't ill- it's just some people's bodies deal with it differently. I also feel fine and have had two scans both of which were great. I've got another private scan on Saturday too for reassurance- if you can afford it and can't wait until your NHS one perhaps you could look into one of those for reassurance.

Either way I know how you feel- I've driven myself mad worrying about lack of symptoms and the only thing that made he worry better was the scans!

X

Dweebette · 11/07/2019 13:19

Hi everyone, hope everyone is feeling good today. I'm OK, 8+2 today and haven't been feeling great the past 2 days, lots of very strong nausea (but not being sick) and I have pains in my stomach that are maybe like heartburn? Really stabbing, painful jolts along with almost continuous dull pain.

Also just got my letter and it reads like my booking in is being done at the same appointment as my first scan - is this normal? Can't believe not a single health professional will have seen me until I'm 12 weeks.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 11/07/2019 13:30

@Hopex92 @bessie84 as @Bettythecat says don't be worrying. I was worring about the fact that I was having no symptoms really, and now that I am I can barely eat, foods I would have ate normally the smell / texture / taste is making me gag. I wish I was back to being starving all the time.

Danimarie · 11/07/2019 14:02

@Dweebette I think each county/borough is different. I had my booking in appointment when I was 8 weeks and I had a blood test beforehand, then I have my scan when I am 12 weeks (but I will also have another blood test then apparently!). Maybe call your local antenatal clinic just to be sure?

Hopex92 · 11/07/2019 21:35

Thanks for the reassurence everyone. I will try to stay positive 😊. I felt a bit sick earlier with smells so il take that as a good thing 😂🙈. We seen heartbeat at 8 week scan so hopefully 12 week one will be the same 🤞🏼

hazandduck · 12/07/2019 13:01

@Hopex92 I’m the same, every time I don’t feel tired or my back aches or my stomach aches...I fear the worst! I’m 9+5 today, got my 12 week scan letter through this morning. Mine is on the 30th of July. 18 days away! Feels like forever. We had a healthy scan at 8 weeks but doubt is creeping back in it has all gone wrong :( I’m so tempted to pay for another scan next Friday, am I crazy!

Dweebette · 12/07/2019 16:34

Advice please ladies, I'm sort of panicking a bit. Woke up this morning to a bit of dark residual in my knickers (sorry, oversharing) and am getting the same when I wipe. It doesn't look like blood as such, more like what I would have got the day before AF would have come. Everything I read says not to worry if it's dark, it's normal, no cramping (other than what I've been having for the past 2 weeks which I'm 90% sure is digestion related) but I don't know how long to ignore it for or if I should try contacting the EPU to get checked out. This is my first and I'm 8+3 so it's all new and terrifying

Dweebette · 12/07/2019 16:35

*should have said "residue", not "residual"

Cupcakes1234 · 12/07/2019 17:09

Was in hospital last night with suspected eptopic but scan this morning showed little baby and yolk sac growing where it should be at 7 weeks and 2 days. Heartbeating too

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
Dr273 · 12/07/2019 17:41

@Cupcakes1234 that's so exciting!

@Dweebette can't speak from experience, but if there's no pain it's incredibly unlikely you're having a MC. Some women bleed off an on throughout pregnancy and some even have "periods" for a few months!

Dweebette · 12/07/2019 17:43

That's great news @larr7 congratulations!

@Dr273 that's what I'm trying to tell myself but I'm scared. Chances of being able to see anyone before Monday now are slim so I'll just have to wait and see

hazandduck · 12/07/2019 20:34

I think dark or brown discharge/blood is old blood. If it turns bright red I would contact your EPU as that suggests fresh blood. Still must be so worrying for you. Have you had a private scan at all? I did have this with my miscarriage but it was accompanied by definite period type cramping and only in the day or two before I started bleeding. The cramps you describe going on for weeks sound like round ligament and normal stretching pains which I had in my healthy pregnancy too. Hope you are ok and manage to relax a little this evening! Feet up and chill!

Dweebette · 12/07/2019 21:02

Thanks @hazandduck, reassurance is good. I haven't had a private scan as there no where near that does it so we'd have to travel a bit to get out done. Still haven't ruled it out though as the 12 week one feels so far away. I've had cramping since before I even found out but I really am having lots of digestive issues so I think it's probably linked. The cramps are quite low down

Cupcakes1234 · 13/07/2019 09:02

@Dweebette I honestly wouldn't worry too much. That's why I've been to get checked everything out as I've had really bad pains lower down for a few days but baby is absolutely fine. They told me cramps and a few pains are normal in early pregnancy and your body is making some huge changes really fast. She also said light spotting is also normal. Only when it's really heavy and bright red to get it checked over. Hope everything is ok

Hopex92 · 13/07/2019 09:11

Hi all me again already with another question I'd really like opinions on or if anyone else had this?? I'm 10+5. Last night I got a dull sore ache left of belly button and lower down but still in stomach. I do carry weight. It was sore.. Not painful or agony but sore. It lasted a few hours I'd say. Could have been longer but I fell asleep so not sure exactly how long. It's was in that 1 wee spot the entire time. Husband says if it comes back we will head to hospital.. However I'm worried.. Did something bad happen?

Dweebette · 13/07/2019 09:35

@Cupcakes1234 thanks. I'm starting to wonder if I maybe have a UTI or something as I get a pain in my tummy when I pee and the cramping continues and also a bit of back pain (though that may be from lying down so much) . My temperature is fine though (36.95). Currently lying with a hot water bottle and will see how I feel in a few hours.

@Hopex92 I can't offer any guidance but it could be digestive? I've been struggling with constipation and get varying types of pains at different times. Fingers crossed everything is OK but if you're worried it's better to get checked out

Quirkyquichie · 14/07/2019 19:10

I should probably think about making a midwife appointment at some point this week. Everyone else seems to be oh the ball with getting everything organised and im just over here thinking yeah, ill do that next week. Maybe its because this will be my 4th im more laxydaisy about it? I feel like as soon as i start this ball rolling then that's it, never ending appointments.
How is everyone else?
