Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

How many weeks are you @Quirkyquichie? I think it’s because if you want nuchal testing etc you need your scan before 14 weeks. I’m 10 weeks today, got my scan in two weeks time and want all those tests doing. How are you feeling about having numbEr 4? I’m one of four and always wanted a big family but I think this will be our last now (number 2 lol.)

How is everyone else feeling?

djmbaker · 14/07/2019 21:21

@hazandduck I'm feeling ok! Quite positive actually. I'm 9weeks, got my first midwife appointment on Friday.
I'm really anxious about my 12 week scan, wish that was friday. The wait to see that everything is ok is hard. This is my first so everything is so new. Feel like I'm driving all my mum friends crazy asking how they felt etc. I haven't had any sickness so far, but the tiredness, moodiness and boob pain is enough to handle!! I'm a beauty therapist so trying to keep it all hidden is a mission.
But other than that.. touch wood.. everything seems ok! 🙏🏻

Quirkyquichie · 14/07/2019 21:53

Hazandduck, 7wk 5dsys. So still relatively early. Im OK about 4 but apprehensive about all the stuff that follows. My 2nd was a stillbirth, my 3rd is a rainbow. I will get my arse in gear this week she get myself booked in though.

Dweebette · 16/07/2019 06:56

Good morning ladies, how is everyone? I am 9 weeks today and so over the first trimester, please someone tell me it gets easier 😭

Cupcakes1234 · 16/07/2019 07:58

@Dweebette the first trimester is the worst. I said this to my partner the other day. The first trimester is the hardest as you feel so awful, you aren't feeling baby and you don't look pregnant lol.

Dweebette · 16/07/2019 08:18

@Cupcakes1234 exactly! And we're not telling anyone until after the scan so I'm having to hide it as well and I just feel absolutely awful. I'm getting really bad dizzy spells now too, I could just cry it's so miserable

sulkysukey · 16/07/2019 09:33

Snap @Dweebette 9 weeks today too Smile Spent the weekend feeling relatively normal but obv instead of enjoying it I spent most of it googling "loss of symptoms"... woke up today feeling them again so slightly reassured. First trimester seems to either be suffering with awful symptoms or anxiety that you're not - can't win!

djmbaker · 16/07/2019 11:03

@sulkysukey I am the exact same!!! Bloody google. My partner says google causes me more stress yet I can't help googling. "9 weeks pregnant but feeling ok, is this normal" 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Dweebette · 16/07/2019 13:36

@sulkysukey and @djmbaker yes! 100%!! There's no winning. I am counting the days to second trimester as be just praying that what I've read on nausea peaking at 7-9 weeks is true. It's so difficult to pretend not to be repulsed by all the coffee and food smells in the office 🤢 and I reckon people will stay to notice if I start nodding off in the afternoon lol

hazandduck · 16/07/2019 15:20

I’m so sorry for your previous loss @Quirkyquichie. But equally so happy you got your rainbow baby. I really hope everything goes smoothly with this fourth baby for you. Xx

hazandduck · 16/07/2019 15:22

@djmbaker haha that is normal!! Especially with your first!

I too wish this trimester would just be done already I am so over being exhausted every day! I’ve felt sick most of today too.

Really premature to ask but when are people starting their maternity leave? I’m due 9th of Feb so I’m thinking of finishing at Christmas! X

hazandduck · 16/07/2019 15:27

Although second trimester was weird with my Dd because I only felt odd flutters, I felt her very early from 13+6 weeks, but only at random times, so until 16 weeks when I started to get a bump I just didn’t feel pregnant at all and thought I dreamt the whole thing!

Quirkyquichie · 16/07/2019 15:59

Thank you hazandduck.
With maternity leave i was thinking more middle of january. I work nights and will be absolutely knackered, but id rather have as much time after. With holidays accrued i should be able to take around 11 months off. New holidays for me start in April, so i should have a couple weeks left to take from dec to April which ill take maybe beginning of jan then straight into mat leave.
Dweebeete it does get easier, then around the 30 week mark you may start getting fed up. My first I had most energy. Worked right up to 38weeks. The second, i was ready to die about 30 weeks. Just felt like I'd sleep forever. But as they say, no two are the same. This one, i could sleep forever now Confused

lovesT · 16/07/2019 16:33

Tiredness is the biggest thing for me at the moment too! I have my scan in a few weeks which is exciting 😊 but yesterday I had a day off but woke up around 8, had a mid morning nap and then went to bed before 9 .. feel bad for my husband because I'm sleeping all the time 😂

Had anyone else not had sickness? I've felt nauseous but that hasn't been too bad for a couple of weeks but no sickness. Sensitivity to smell is strong though! I'm about 9 weeks

djmbaker · 16/07/2019 16:46

@lovesT I'm the same! I'm 9 weeks.. smells are driving me mad, I can smell my cats food from about 10 miles away 😂😂 someone had pesto pasta in work today and it felt like the pesto had literally been shoved up my nose 🤮
No sickness for me just nausea when hungry and when eating but nothing awful.
Tiredness and boobs aching like something I've never known though! 😴

Cupcakes1234 · 16/07/2019 17:12

Back from my first midwife appointment. Was there for about 40 minutes just going through medical history and previous birth. 8 weeks tomorrow, I'm due 27th February but I'm sure it'll be more like March as my first was 11 days late 🙄. So just got to wait now for my appointment for my scan through the post and next see her when I'm 16 weeks in September

45andfine · 16/07/2019 17:15

Hi! I've just joined and due early Feb, are there any older mum's on here who can tell me what their risk scores looked like for the combined test? I had my last daughter 11 years ago and it was 1 in 1000 ish. I know it's not going to be that this time around! I'm 45...

lovesT · 16/07/2019 19:01

@djmbaker wow we sound similar! Haha, I work in a school and one of the girls had pesto pasta for her packed lunch today and it was so strong 🤢 I usually love pesto but I've gone off food with strong tastes or smells so that's off the menu ... my boobs are so sore too, I think it's about 7/8 weeks of sore boobs for me 🙄 glad you haven't had any sickness, hope that continues and you keep feeling as well as possible!

MAV34 · 16/07/2019 19:04

I’m 41 and am scheduled to take a harmony test next Friday but will not know the outcome for 1-2 weeks after that.

MAV34 · 16/07/2019 19:05

That message was for 45andfine by the way

tisonlymeagain · 16/07/2019 19:06

No idea @45andfine but I'm 39 (40 next month) and had the Harmony test on Saturday as I am pre-empting that my NHS test will come back high. My NHS scan and tests aren't until 30th July, should have the Harmony test results back within the next 7 working days or so and will report back.

45andfine · 16/07/2019 21:28

Thank you for responses. Harmony test must be a new one! I'm off to Google it! I've got screening tests on 5th Aug

shoegalj · 17/07/2019 08:07

Morning all

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow Smile and have my scan a week today and I am so excited!

Been feeling much better since I last posted and I seem to be sleeping through the night without too much anxiety, finally!

My boobs seem to be less sore this week and apart from feeling really tired and my horrible sciatica I seem to have dodged the worst of the symptoms, which I'm seeing as positive and not as a stress or a reason there's something wrong (I've had an early scan and there was a heartbeat so I'm sure it's all ok)

Only big worry now is telling my step kids this weekend and I'm absolutely dreading it Sad

ImMeantToBeWorking · 17/07/2019 08:55

@lovesT and @djmbaker I have been sick once but I think it was more a bit of a bug as I was totally off for the day. Other than that I could eat for Ireland but nothing too fancy. I made some veg with my dinner last night and they were hard to get down, but I felt like I needed some in y body!!

Some smells have been so bad they have made me gag, it is horrible so it is!!

Good luck for your scan @shoegalj. I am sure your step-kids will be delighted, don't be worrying about it now!

Quirkyquichie · 17/07/2019 10:13

Yes to the tiredness. Im having cat naps all over the place. Had A little snooze at work the other week hiding out in the toilet. The things you'll do for ten minutes shut eye. Not so much sickness either. Just twice at work. But one was A smell that made me gag, which ended up me throwing up, and the other i think was hunger. Thinking about work, they're so lucky to have me Wink
I just booked my first mw appointment, they've put me in for next week. Looks like they only do Fridays which is pants for me working Thursday nights. Im going to look even Crappier than usual with being awake 26 hours by that time. Hopefully I wont fall asleep on her
