Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

Fingers crossed for you @Charlotte9876 I guess it's just a waiting game. Have you had any more bleeding?

Has everyone stopped testing? I just POAS for about the millionth time but it was pleasing to see that the lines are getting darker.

I definitely hadn't stopped testing @tisonlymeagain and I won't be now either! It still hadn't sunk in so I guess the daily testing was just showing me it's still real.

The bleeding is still going 🙁 but it's still super light - I just went to the shops for an hour and I only had the slightest mark on a pantyliner when I got back, but it's definitely not stopped.

Hi can I join? I got my BFP yesterday and due date is showing as 1st Feb! I had a MC back in December so trying to remain positive. Have a 9 week old puppy that is keeping me nicely distracted :D
Can't believe it's real!

Congratulations to you all :)

@Charlotte9876 @tisonlymeagain I'm planning on testing again in the morning 🙈 it's a week since I found out so going to do a clear blue weeks one to check the hormone is progressing.
How's everyone doing? I get a bit of aching by the end of the day - like my uterus is aching!

@muddypuddlejumping I've had really bad cramps, had a GP phone consultation today and she thinks it's just the changes in my body, but also advised me to have lactulose to ease the constipation.
I had to sit down at work yesterday for half an hour the cramps were so bad.

Hi all, I am 5 weeks today with my first pregnancy and feeling excited, anxious, happy! Hoping I can join in on the conversation. I’m due end of Jan but I guess this may change when I go for my scan. I’ve had cramps and feeling really nauseous! Anyone else? Also waking up ridiculously early and not being able to go back to sleep.
I haven’t told any of my friends yet as it feels too early so it’s nice to be able to say it on here!

@AM182 I've had bad cramps since last week and I'm 4 + 2 now. Spoke to my go the other day said it was normal and to have lactulose to help with constipation. I was worried my IBS was flaring but she didn't seem to think it was that. I've been so uncomfortable at time and makes me anxious that something isn't right. Trying to relax and stay positive though.

I hope it starts to ease off for you ! It’s more at night time for me. It’s the nauseous that keeps hitting me that’s hard. I’ll need to figure out a plan at work so people don’t suspect anything. I was going to call my GP and make an appointment with the midwife but didn’t know if it was too soon?

@AM182 it's seems better today and I slept through the night so fingers crossed. I don't know if it's different for areas. I have to self refer through pregnancymatters website at 6 weeks. Ask you go though it might be different for your area.
I've told my two best friends that are like sisters and my senior staff at work but purely because I'm a nurse and have to be careful.

Hi @jennifer90 welcome and congrats! Also my third!

Oh @AM182 ME! I am waking up so early every day and can’t get back to sleep, it’s driving me mad, I love my sleep!

I’ve had some cramping but remember this from the other times I have been pregnant. It’s all normal apparently, but yes, I’ve also got some digestive issues!

@Charlotte9876 @muddypuddlejumping I tested again this morning and….I ordered some more FRER. Can’t keep this up I’ll be bankrupt!

Hey @Charm23 Sorry to hear about your mc but yay for your BFP and oh my life that’s a cute puppy!

Thankfully clear blue said 2-3 weeks today and that's my final test so not planning on buying any more now.
@L00byL0u I do remember the cramping from last time so it is very normal I can't decide if it's better to feel it so you know something is going on or worse because cramping makes you think the worst 🙈

@AM182 Congratulations and welcome! I've had the odd twinge and a few moments where I thought I was feeling nauseous. My biggest symtom has been sore nipples but they seem to be getting better. I'm also waking up ridiculous early but that's because of the puppy. I'm so in love with the little fella that I don't even care!

@jennifer90 Congratulations! I'll come to you for all the advice if you've had three because this will be my first! :D

@tisonlymeagain Thanks I appreciate it, it feels like such a long time ago now. I'm just so pleased I've got my BFP again! Trying not to stress about it but I think I'm doing a decent job of staying positive atm. Having said that, I don't think I'm going to self-refer to midwife for another couple of weeks at the minimum. Lost my first pregnancy at 8 weeks after a lot of spotting in the weeks prior but having seen a supposedly 'strong heartbeat' just the week before so I'd like to hopefully wait until I feel more confident. And yes, puppy is so, so cute. I'm in love

@muddypuddlejumping @jennifer90 I've got one Clearblue Digital left which I am saving for another week or so. I did one on Monday morning at 11dpo and it said 1-2 weeks so I am going to save it until at least this time next week.

@Charm23 I am not going to tell the mw yet either yet, I think they see you from 9 weeks at my surgery so not point anyway but I'm very aware that so much can go wrong and being almost 40, I am at increased risk of that.

I am going to go for the Harmony test that includes a scan and I think they do that from 10 weeks so that will be before the NHS one, though I've not ruled out an early scan yet if I can get my DP on board!

@Charm23 that's fine 😊 I'll be happy to give as much advice as I can, been 8 years since I was last pregnant so this feels all new again 🙈

@tisonlymeagain 9 weeks? That seems like forever!? I believe my booking in appointment last time was at around 7 weeks. Nowadays we find out so early that we're much more aware of MMC/CPs which can cause a lot of heartbreak. Best thing we can do is just focus on the positive - we're having babies!! :D It still doesn't compute in my head that this could lead to an ACTUAL baby haha! Harmony test sounds brilliant but not sure I want to fork out hundreds for it. But then waiting for a 12 week scan feels ages away!

Just spoke to my surgery @Charm23 and they said they don't have a mw there anymore so I have to pop in to pick up a form that gives all the information on who you need to contact and how so I guess I'll go and get that later.

I wouldn't fork out for the test either usually but I'm so paranoid about my age and if there is a problem I'd rather know sooner than later as have seen on a local FB group, some people aren't getting their scan until 13/14 weeks on the NHS.

Right after saying I wasn't going to...I have got the letter from my GP and contacted the midwifery team. I had to send them various bits of info and it says they will contact me within 7 days to arrange a booking appointment for when I am between 8 and 10 weeks and an ultrasound around 12 weeks. Thought I had better get in the system as it seems that people locally have been missed recently!

It says on the letter that if you are over the age of 40 you need to see the GP to get a higher dose of folic acid. I am 40 in 3 months so not sure whether I should do this. I'm taking the Seven Seas Pregnancy vitamins at the moment.

Hi all! Hoping I can join. I've had a very faint positive result this morning, so I need to get hold of a digital to put my mind at ease.

This month would of been a year of trying so I'm hoping with all my heart that this baby sticks. I have a really short luteal phase of 6 days so I was all ready to head to the GP and ask for help. I am soooooo pleased I am beaming. Congratulations everyone!

@Charm23 I've actually done about 8 tests 😳 but 4 were left over cheapies before I could get first response and so I bought double packs of first response and clear blue dating. Oh the justification 🤣
My first response was dark straight away but I'd already bought the others anyway. I'm not getting any more though.

@tisonlymeagain I rang my gp today and got booked in as I was hoping it might give me the option of booking on my day off but no such luck! I'm booked in at 8 weeks. Trying to work out how long it might go on for as my last birth and pregnancy wasn't that easy.

@tisonlymeagain Ooo exciting to get the ball rolling with appointments! I imagine they will want you to start the higher dose of Folic Acid seeing as you will turn 40 within your pregnancy but maybe ring them and check. I needed to take a higher dose and the midwife gave me a form to get the maternity prescription exemption certificate which saved a few pennies. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it and will have to see about getting it updated? or just apply for a new one for this pregnancy with the new dates. Weird to think I would only be 7 weeks away from full term.

@turquoisebaby Congratulations! When are you going to retest?

@muddypuddlejumping That's a lot of tests! I've got a test in my medicine cabinet, think it's a FR Rapid Response and don't feel I need to use it. Maybe I'll have another baby straight away after this one and it will still be in date? Grin

Is anyone using a pregnancy app? I've downloaded Ovia Pregnancy as I really liked Ovia Fertility to track things when TTC. But I'm open to other apps if anyone has suggestions?

tisonlymeagain · 29/05/2019 17:38

No no no, I didn't do another test....still pregnant, ha.

Hi @turquoisebaby congrats!

@muddypuddlejumping 8 weeks is good, I know some places don't see you until a bit later.

@Charm23 Have an appointment at the drs tomorrow, thought it would be best to get on the higher dose ASAP if I need it as surely the next few weeks are the crucial ones?

I was using Glow for TTC so I've switched to their Nurture app now but only been using it for a few days.
