Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

@Kebabbie thank you, I do feel a little reassured reading all the messages on this forum.

@tisonlymeagain I’m coming round to the idea now but was very overwhelmed to start off with.

syousaf · 19/07/2019 16:47

My clothes started to feel tight about two weeks ago. I am clearly showing already, although I’m pretty sure that has something to do with how much I’m eating at the moment.

Goose4 · 19/07/2019 16:56

Hello!
Can I join too please?
I'm 9 and a bit weeks along, due around the 17th of Feb. I've got my booking appointment on Tuesday morning, which I'm both excited and nervous about. Hopefully it will make things feel a bit more real...
We haven't told our families yet, and still can't decide if we're going to tell them before the booking appointment or after the 12 week scan. All our family are in Australia (we moved to the UK for work a bit over a year ago), so it's going to be strange telling people over facetime!!

hazandduck · 19/07/2019 17:52

@sulkysukey yep I have become a lazy slug! I have a 20 month old who is constantly full of beans, I used to take her out on big walks, about 5 times a week...so I could pretty much eat as I want and maintain my weight. I just have not got the energy now. We manage 20 mins walk max at the moment and then I just kind of watch her tear around the park. I feel so bad and neglectful. But I am just too knackered. And yes the heat has made me have terrific headaches which make me nauseous.

Welcome to all the newcomers on the thread! I’m 11 weeks on Sunday. DH is going out with his two best friends for an after work drink and is going to tell them tonight. One of them is getting married in a week and the other is having a baby in August! So it’s all go in their gang right now lol.

hazandduck · 19/07/2019 17:53

Oh and yes I caved in and wore a hair band looped through my jeans today lol.

Dweebette · 20/07/2019 21:20

@sulkysukey yes, I too am a lazy lump right now, though today actually hasn't been as bad. I have my scan on 6th so round the same time as you (I'm 9+4 today)

@hazandduck the hairband trick isn't cutting it for me, the zip is still too tight and wearing clothes is just so uncomfortable! Was great today being able to wear leggings and an oversized top, absolutely dreading getting back into work clothes on Monday. Think I'm going to buy some stockings as don't think I can cope with tights any more and trousers are too tight. I haven't gained weight yet so it must just be bloating but it's not fun

Actually managed to get out of the house today and had a really lovely day with DH visiting his family to share our news followed by a very unhealthy lunch out which was great (not a vegetable in sight!)

sulkysukey · 21/07/2019 18:53

Glad to know it's not just me slumped about like a lazy lump! And the evening bloating is just getting out of control - just had to dash from the family dinner to lie in bed (trumping! 🙈)... So attractive 😑

Dweebette · 21/07/2019 19:18

@sulkysukey oh that made me laugh 😂 I feel your pain though, actually had to get DH to rub and pat my neck earlier to try and burp me like a baby just to get some relief!

I've been really anxious today, was getting sharp pains in my right side and started to Google ectopic pregnancy. All the symptoms are also just normal pregnancy symptoms as well (except shoulder pain which I don't have) so I'm trying to convince myself I'm just being irrational. No bleeding or anything but I'm very very uncomfortable. Also weighed myself today and I've lost 2lbs since Tuesday which is a mystery considering I'm living on bread and crisps between meals. My body pillow arrived today though and I'm so glad I bought it early, think it'll be great when the bump grows

ImMeantToBeWorking · 22/07/2019 13:33

@purplefig it is lovely to have him home. Esp as I was so tired last week and he was there to help with dinner and walking the dog!! Oh I have been dreaming of potato and leek soup but I could only get veg in the shop yesterday. I am going to try another shop today.

I think it works differently in Ireland as I had to have my first appointment with the doc and he refers you to the hosp. I rang the hosp last week and they had me booked with the obstetrician for the 22nd Aug (14+5) but they said they hadn't the referral from my doc, yet they had my details to book me with the obstetrician?? I rang the doc surgery and they sent through the referral again and now I have a scan for 16th Aug (13+6).

All you ladies in the UK talk about these tests that have to be done by 13+6 but she said this was just the regular dating scan so it must work differently. I have had zero tests done to date other than POAS in the docs office and I am 10+2 today!!

I literally feel like the hosp fucked up and now they have just squeezed me in at the last min, literally as it is the last day they are meant to have the dating scan!!

I used to live in Dublin where I could have my pick of dedicated maternity hospitals, public or private, I moved west as DP is from down here, and there is only hospitals with maternity wards. I just had a little cry about it because it feels like it was such a bad decision to have made!!

purplefig · 22/07/2019 14:16

@ImMeantToBeWorking sorry you're feeling down in the dumps with it all. The only tests I have done was a blood test, which is to check for things like iron levels I think. Sorry to hear you feel like they've squeezed you in, it does seem like poor form and quite late to be doing a dating scan. Could you ring them up and ask if there is any way they could bring it forward?

@Bettythecat how're you getting on lovely? Haven't heard from you in a while.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 22/07/2019 15:45

@purplefig I asked was there nothing closer, they said that it was the next free one they had as they assigned them as referral letters came in. I asked would it be possible to get a cancellation and they said no! I am just going to have to wait it out it seems!! Confused

tisonlymeagain · 22/07/2019 16:32

Just had my NIPT results back, everything was less than 1:10000 low probability and found out we're having a boy ShockGrin

NHS scan next week!

purplefig · 22/07/2019 16:55

@ImMeantToBeWorking sorry to hear that, it's really frustrating for you. You could always get a private scan a bit earlier if that's financially doable? I got an early dating scan at 8 weeks for reassurance - best £40 I've spent in ages!

@tisonlymeagain great news on the results! Did you have a feeling it was a boy?

Dweebette · 22/07/2019 17:00

@tisonlymeagain congratulations! What great results

I had a bit of a scare this morning as had sharp pains in my side. Spent the morning in A&E followed by a visit to the EPU where I saw a wriggly little blob with a heartbeat exactly where it's supposed to be 😍 I'm in love already

tisonlymeagain · 22/07/2019 17:12

Yes @purplefig I was convinced it was a boy as I'm eating lots of spicy food and lots of spicy chicken - which is exactly how it was with my son. With my daughter I ate loads of sweet stuff and I can't stomach it at all!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 22/07/2019 17:32

@tisonlymeagain thats great news, I hope the day didn't go too slowly for you waiting for DP to come home so you could open the results!!

@purplefig I looked at them today, the availability they have in the local one does not suit until the weekend before I am due to have it anyway so it seems a bit pointless. They do do the 3d scanning though too so I might get one of them later in pregnancy! They are €80 to €100 here so not too expensive, but there is only one place within an hours drive of where I am and they are booked up for the next two Saturdays! I might look further a field, will talk to DP later.

@Dweebette delighted that it was good news for you.

hazandduck · 22/07/2019 18:48

Aw congrats on your boy @tisonlymeagain and the great results!

My scan is a week tomorrow. I actually think the time has flown.

With my Dd I had terrible migraines at the end where I lost my vision, up until she was 2 weeks old.

I had my first migraine since she was born yesterday! It was horrific! Lost my vision, went numb down one side. I really hope this isn’t going to be a symptom I get all the way through it is so scary. The thought of it happening when I’m alone with Dd scares the crap out of me.

I am taking it as a positive sign that my hormones are still raging though.

Glad other people are struggling with tight trousers lol! I feel like my tummy is sticking out. One week and then I can just say. My hairdresser guessed today because she couldn’t believe how much my hair had grown and how thick and luscious it is right now...a positive symptom of pregnancy ha! X

sulkysukey · 22/07/2019 20:41

Great news @tisonlymeagain - exciting times!
@Dweebette sorry you had a painful scare but great to have a good scan, yay!
@hazandduck those migraines sound so bad - I get loss of vision migraines sometimes they're horrible - going numb too must be awful. I hope they don't become more regular for you 🤞.

Marleym28 · 23/07/2019 11:18

I have my scan next fri (2nd) and based on the app I'll be 12+4, I'm excited to see what date it actually gets listed as. At the moment I'm sure I'm having twins as I'm huge! Lol
I am struggling to hide it even in baggy T-shirt's etc.
Trying to be on the fence about the scan but I am equally looking forward to not having to hide away. I've been avoiding people as much as possible until then. I feel so hidden away and also a bad friend.
Kinda scared at the same time too. Wish it was this week.
I opted for the blood test to look at the risks, so you get the results at the same time or after the scan?

hazandduck · 23/07/2019 11:37

@Marleym28 I got a letter when I was pregnant last time, but they did say if there was anything concerning they would call sooner about the bloods. Ooh how exciting if it is twins!
I have a little bump too. Apparently baby is the size of a fig?! So how many figs are in there if my bump is already sticking out 😂

Thank you @sulkysukey I have had them all my life but thought I would be safe until at least the end of pregnancy. I got one when driving once, they are so horrible and I always go in to a panic! And in hospital the morning after having Dd I suddenly couldn’t see or hold her at all.

syousaf · 23/07/2019 11:45

@tisonlymeagain and @Dweebette so pleased that you have had good scans. @hazandduck those migraines sound awful. Hope they stay away.

I am still having regular bleeding so can’t wait to have my scan tomorrow. Hoping that everything will be OK.

bessie84 · 23/07/2019 11:46

Hey ladies, got my "12 week scan" tomorrow (wednesday) at 9.30am. i am SHITTING myself.

Started on antibiotics this morning, been to see gp - terrible cramps and green discharge. took swabs and wee sample.

this heat is doing me in, im too fat n ginger for this :-) xxx

hazandduck · 23/07/2019 11:47

Ah@Dweebette I missed your update! So glad all is ok, hope you feel better soon.

Good luck for tomorrow @syousaf crossing everything for you x

syousaf · 23/07/2019 11:59

Thank you @hazandduck. @bessie84 hope everything will be OK. Best of luck for tomorrow.

Dweebette · 23/07/2019 12:17

Thanks ladies, sounds like a few of us are having a rough time! @hazandduck migraine sounds awful, and scary too, really hope it's a one off and that you won't suffer the rest of the pregnancy.

@syousaf and @bessie84 hope both of you have great scans tomorrow

My 12 week scan is two weeks away today, although baby only measured 9 weeks yesterday (that's what I was expecting, stupid long cycles). No bump at all but I'm just so uncomfortable, my tummy is really tender and getting a lot of sharp pains again today though worrying less now the midwife days it's ligaments
