Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

Thanks @Charm23 Smile

@tisonlymeagain That's reassuring. Smile I've never been pregnant before so have no idea what to expect. I swing between being ecstatic and really anxious that something will go wrong.

Charm23 · 02/06/2019 19:44

@amiejb25 Welcome and congrats! Sorry to hear about your mc. I had one last Dec so can relate to those anxious feelings. Chin up though and lets stay positive :D

@HannahMitchell14 Not made my self-referral yet as I'm worried they won't be any point. I had A LOT of spotting with my last pregnancy before I lost it at 8 weeks so I'm hoping to leave it as long as I can. Not sure how long to leave it though... ideas anyone?

@Littlegoth Welcome and congrats! Hope you get an early scan to give you peace of mind :)

Anyone got any news/symptoms? This morning I had some spotting - luckily not bright red blood it was just pink/red tinged urine on the toilet paper - but still put me in a bit of a naff mood. This is what I have been worried about. Fingers crossed though. I'm trying my hardest to remain positive. I've still got plenty of symptoms: tired, sore boobs and, most annoyingly, indigestion and burping a lot! Anyone else?

muddypuddlejumping · 02/06/2019 19:57

@Charm23 sounds like your spotting is nothing to worry about yet if it was light. I spotted the whole way through my last pregnancy.

@HannahMitchell14 I've booked my booking in appointment. I was going to wait too but then thought I'd rather an appointment at 8 weeks than at 10! Got one for 8 and a half weeks.

Welcome to all those just getting bfps.

Charm23 · 02/06/2019 20:04

@muddypuddlejumping Thanks for the reassurance. It's good to know that spotting can have good outcomes too. Can I ask how much spotting you had? Several times a week?

muddypuddlejumping · 02/06/2019 20:18

@Charm23 bloody loads! On and off for weeks and especially after a bowel movement! I'm sure I passed a clot once. It was a bit scary and I did once worry I'd pooed out my baby 🙈 (I blame the hormones!!) but all was absolutely fine. I had an early scan which identified cervical erosion which I'd had before. It settled down in the second trimester.

WombatStewForTea · 02/06/2019 20:24

Ooh can I join?!
Got my bfp on Wed and clear blue today is saying 2-3. Hoping this one sticks as had an early mc a few months back
Ovia puts due date at 2nd Feb.

Chocol4te · 02/06/2019 20:26

Hi all, I'll join this as well, found out that I'm pregnant on 30.05 which was my birthday, I didn't expect a positive test as I had only sore boobs so I thought it's just PMS, I was very surprised and happy with BFP (big fat positive), took 3 on Thursday, one yesterday and one day, I need to stop haha! The app is showing 5w3days , I will gotl for a private scan on 16th of June and midwife appointment is on 23rd of June, this is my first pregnancy and spent last days reading everything about NHS screenings, blood tests, food that is allowed and so on, I will try to chill next weeks so I don't drive myself crazy! But I am really scared of a miscarriage, never had one but they seem common nowadays ...

Hopex92 · 02/06/2019 21:50

I've went from excited to really nervous and scared. I just want to no all is OK but it could be July before my first scan. I'd be classed as 5 weeks now but because of my pcos I'm irregular and pretty sure I'm only 3 weeks. My cramps come and go throughout the day. Last night and this morning I'd some Sharpe pains in my groin. I'm also worried that some symptoms don't seem to be as bad, like I had awful heartburn which seems to have just stopped and the wind pains arnt anywhere near as bad. Is this a cause for concern, symtons becoming less ? I get weird tummy pains maybe it's cramps. Not sevre just odd. I get sore legs as if Periods coming. Still suffering from constipation and my right breast is so sore on and off. Sorry just looking some reassurence or advice from anyone. This is 1st pregnancy after 2 years or trying. Didn't think it would happen naturally but it has. I'm just worried my stressing isn't going to help. I see GP Thursday but it's not for any tests just initial visit after positive test. I can't even call for advice as they said unless I'm in sevre pain or bleeding I don't call.

Greenleafer19 · 02/06/2019 22:26

Congrats @chocol4te,what a lovely Bday surprise!

A question to all new bfp's.... Is a 6 week scan a silly idea? I've read sometimes there's no heartbeat as that can come later but hubby and I would really like a scan to see how things are going... Xx

EllieJaye · 03/06/2019 05:37

@charm23 I'm not going to refer yet either. I've booked a private scan at 7 weeks and will do it after that if all ok. I could possibly get an NHS early scan after 2 concurrent losses but I can't face the hospital!

TwistofFate · 03/06/2019 05:43

@Hopex92 I woke up the night before last with sharp pains in my groin and abdomen, it was intense but didn't last long. I was convinced I was having a miscarriage or my period was starting. No spotting or bleeding though so hoping that means it's normal and just uterus stretching. I was trying for 2 years too, I really want to be happy and excited, but it's really scary, isn't it?

Charm23 · 03/06/2019 07:58

@muddypuddlejumping That sounds horrible but very similar to what I had with my last pregnancy. Just goes to show that it's not always something to worry about because for you it ended perfectly :)

@WombatStewForTea Welcome! Congrats on your BFP!

@Chocol4te Welcome and congratulations :) What a wonderful birthday gift! I was just like you researching everything lol I know it's not easy but try not to worry and if you do get any spotting just know that it doesn't always mean the worst will happen.

@Hopex92 It sounds to me like you still have plenty of symptoms. It's normal for them to come and go a bit. I'm sure if you need advice you can use this thread as there are several ladies with children already :)

@Greenleafer19 If I got to choose an early scan date I'd leave it until 7 weeks or more just so there is more chance to actually see something. I imagine it It can be quite disheartening to have your first scan and to see nothing and assume the worst when its simply too early. With my last pregnancy I had a scan at what we all thought was 6 weeks at the EPU due to spotting and according to my pregnancy journal from that time: "That day I was supposedly 6 weeks and was given an abdominal ultrasound which didn't show much (never realised how hard they press down with the transducer!) and so an internal scan was done where we saw 'something'. I was definitely pregnant but the sonographer said I was 'not quite 6 weeks'. She saw no bleeding and everything looked as she would expect but it was too early for a heartbeat. I was then booked in for another scan 9 days later to check for a heartbeat/viability." So yeah, if I could choose I'd go for 7 weeks+, hope that helps.

@EllieJaye I'd never thought of getting a scan done before referring myself to the midwife! There are no nearby private scanning places near me :( I'm trying not to worry but still a bit afraid of a repeat of last time and don't think a scan would help me feel better tbh. Last time I saw the heartbeat, got told it was a "strong heartbeat" and MC the following week any way :( I've got my fingers crossed for all of us to have happy healthy babies!

@TwistofFate Are you feeling any better today?

L00byL0u · 03/06/2019 08:21

@TwistofFate I've had abdo pain on and off since 3.5 weeks and I am now 5 weeks. Sometimes it radiates to my groin and I can be so bad I have to sit down and gently rock to ease the pain. GP said I was probably constipated and to take lactulose which has helped a bit but I still get the pain.

tisonlymeagain · 03/06/2019 09:26

Wow, lots to catch up on!

Hi to newcomers @Littlegoth, @WombatStewForTea, @Chocol4te

@Charm23 No new symptoms here, I am almost wishing for some but I know I am going to regret saying that. So far just sore boobs, a few headaches, cramping and tiredness. A bit of constipation. I almost want to feel sick so it feels more real!

@Hopex92 I understand those feelings, I am so excited I want to tell everyone but I’m also so nervous I ended up having a little cry last night!

@Greenleafer19 lots of people have early scans but I think if you can wait until after 7 weeks you’ll get more reassurance from it. They can’t see a lot before then. I haven’t ruled it out yet, I’ll probably cave and get one at the end of this month.

As for me, I couldn’t resist POAS this morning as I had a CB Digital left and it came up as 2-3 weeks which was pleasing and reassuring as I got 1-2 weeks this time last week so looks like for now things are progressing. Will I do another next Monday? I bet I will haha.

Have finally decided that I will wait to have the NHS scan and blood results done and if high risk (which I am expecting they will be based on age) I will have the Harmony test then before any diagnostic procedures. It’s giving me a bit of anxiety to be honest but trying to keep cool. There’s so long to wait, we think the 2WW is bad and then this!

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
TwistofFate · 03/06/2019 11:50

@Charm23 Much better today, just a pulling sensation (?) and bit of mild cramping, and sore boobs. Hoping that as long as I don't bleed or spot, things are ok.

@L00byL0u I have been constipated on and off got last couple of weeks and I'm always really regular (TMI sorry) so could be that.

@tisonlymeagain So much waiting! I naively thought the 2ww wait would be the hardest part, now I'm just as anxious about the next 8 weeks and the scan. I'm going to need to take up a new hobby or something to help pass the time quicker.

tisonlymeagain · 03/06/2019 11:53

Same @TwistofFate I can't focus on anything else at the moment, I am driving myself crazy!

bessie84 · 03/06/2019 12:16

quietly sneaks in and whsipers...can i join please? (sshhh, scared of mc too)

im about 5 weeks ish, bfp last monday.

i have 3 dcs. 2 from 1st marriage and 1 youngest ivf with current husband. ive also had 1 stillbirth at 41+3 and 3 miscarriages, our last one a year ago next week.

im also symptom-less, or very mild at least. i'm a bit tired, but that could be toddler up crack of dawn, im a bit crampy occassionally. thats about it. nothing really. in fact, im nearly at my 10,000 steps and its only dinnertime. sigh.

im booking a private scan, not that it will help i guess, i just need to see..... - 2 of my mcs were tiny - they grew too slow and never got heartbeats, was weird. last years mc, i was lightly bleeding all the time, it had a heartbeat , grew perfect - til i started bleeding mega heavy then it was over.

anyway - thats me. ive not done a clearblue digital. just the normal ones. i darent do a digital.

shy wave. hope we all have sticky beans on board.

EllieJaye · 03/06/2019 12:49

Hi @bessie84 ! Sorry to hear about your losses Sad Sending sticky babydust your way!

I hear you about the digital, I am afraid to do anything (apart from compulsively POAS) that I feel might make it more real and potentially therefore make the pain of another loss harder. Is it crazy to think anything could somehow actually make it easier!?
Also, I haven't told any of my friends and family about the BFP so don't really have anyone to talk to about it. Perhaps another way of keeping a distance from the pregnancy to protect myself!?

Just focusing on getting through the days and to the scan I've got booked in 18 days Hmm

I need some positive vibes! Smile

RebootYourEngine · 03/06/2019 13:44

Tested again today. Straight away two lines appeared. It still doesn't feel real.

Got my MW appointment booked for a couple of weeks. It was the first one available so I am glad I didn't wait.

tisonlymeagain · 03/06/2019 13:50

Very reassuring isn't it @RebootYourEngine

I'm still waiting to hear from midwives. I emailed my self-referral on Wednesday last week and it said they would contact me within 7 days. Not sure if that will be my phone, email or post though!

Lovemartina2012 · 03/06/2019 13:53

Not due my period untill today or tomorrow can’t remember dates did a pregnancy test yesterday 2nd of June got bfp really excited as wasn’t expected due to having ectopic in feb this year and removal of tube so really excited that I’m pregnant now but getting period like pains just hope it’s nothing serious Smile

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
tisonlymeagain · 03/06/2019 14:00

@Lovemartina2012 Congratulations. I'd say if you are already getting a 2-3 week you might have ovulated earlier than you thought? Either way, that's great, and don't worry about pains, cramping is normal. I've had lots of it in my previous pregnancies and this one.

Lovemartina2012 · 03/06/2019 14:11

I’m really anxiety over ectopic in feb and everything is worrying me I had my blood drawn this morning so waiting on blood drawn to come back Iv got 3 other kids but seems can’t remember anything lol Did clear blue on Thursday said 1-2 weeks pregnant then on Sunday said 2-3 weeks

turquoisebaby · 03/06/2019 15:34

Has anyone thought about how and when they are going to tell people? Last time we waited until 12 weeks, but I work in care so will have to inform work earlier and id like to tell my Mum before I tell work.

tisonlymeagain · 03/06/2019 15:37

Last two pregnancies I didn't tell anyone until about 14 weeks. We've both got children so they will be the first to know, followed by DPs parents and then close friends.
