38 weeks anyone else?

Is anyone else around same week as me and how are you feeling ?! x

Hey! I am 39+1 with first baby. Feeling pretty okay, been off work a week now so beginning to get bored and restless! No signs whatsoever yet, I know two people who were due the same day as me who have both already had their baby so that’s making me even more desperate to meet mine! Apart from almost constant heartburn and getting a sore hip/leg after walking more than 15 minutes I can’t really complain. Booked in for a s&s next Tuesday on my due date, Would love for him to make an appearance before then but I feel like that’s not going to happen and I’ve got a good while yet!

How are you feeling?

I'm 38 weeks too! Starting to feel uncomfortable with this huge bump, but otherwise okay. Getting sudden urges to get some nesting done but trying to take things easy. Had an increase in discharge today and I wonder whether its part of my mucus plug coming away as it's slightly tinged. Really hope this baby isn't coming as I'm booked in for an elcs next Wednesday! How are you?

38+4 today and soooo ready, pretty sure I lost my mucus plug today so waiting patiently for something to happen but as I've read it can be weeks and mucus plug loss doesn't mean a fat lot! I'm booked for a section a week today but really hoping something happens before so I get to meet her soon 😅

I’m 38 weeks on Friday. I feel fine but bump definitely getting lower. Getting lots of cramps and Braxton Hicks.

I’ve been really busy as we’ve sold our house and found a new one but have now got lots of stuff out of the way and feel like I need to prepare for the baby. Got the birthing pool out of the loft today and going to get other bits ready tomorrow. My dd is away for the weekend so it would be a good time for labour to start although I was very overdue with her so not that hopeful to be early.

What are other people doing to prepare themselves? Last time I did a massive batch cook, cleaned and tidied obsessively and made the baby’s bed. As well as getting my hair cut and numerous other things. This time I feel very disorganised.

I am also 38+4 today and just want him out! Just feel tired all the time! I had a sweep Friday just gone and lost my plug on the Saturday but nothing since then! 🙈

38 weeks tomorrow!! Feeling good but huge! Im finishing work Friday too so looking forward to relaxing a little bit next week. Would ideally love a week chilling to watch line of duty lol then she can come!

I’m 38+1 and feeling very uncomfortable now!

Tired, swollen feet, lots of BHs and back ache. I lost my plug last week.

Waiting for the hospital to ring to let me know which day next week I’ll be in for my caesarean, hoping I don’t go into spontaneous labour before that.

Not just me then that’s getting fed up and wanting baby out right now! they don’t do sweeps in my area until 41 weeks 😓 I have the constant heartburn too and just so uncomfy and swollen. I never knew how much it dragged at the end , the thought of another four weeks of being pregnant is not nice ! Moan over 😂

@Littleguggi I had the same thing today with the increased yellow discharge thinking maybe plug. Also keep finding myself obsessively looking for any sign baby is coming 😂

@LivingOnAPear I’m planning on stocking up the freezer with meals but think I have everything else ready really ? Are you having a home birth that’s lovely

@sh13 I only had an early sweep as baby is very big so they are trying to encourage him to come along early!

This last month really is dragging! And it doesn't help that the weather is getting warmer, really struggled to sleep last night with the warmth 😣

Ooh batch cooking is a good plan!

I made about 3 months worth of freezer food last time. It was slightly obsessive but really handy.

I’m keen (well as much as you can be) to have an early sweep as I’m 40 so feel under more pressure to give birth on time. Midwife told me I’d have to see a consultant to get approval to have one before 40 weeks which seems like a huge waste of everyone’s time.

@sh13 the heartburn is awful isn’t it. Hopefully your baby will drop and it will go.

Hey, I'm 38+3 and starting to get soo impatient! Like you OP they don't do sweeps in my area until 41 weeks 😩

Lost my plug last Friday, lots of BH, but at my MW appointment yesterday she said baby was only 2/5ths engaged. Still a bit to wait I think!

I planned on batch cooking but I just don't have the energy or motivation. Saying that, for each meal I've cooked this week I've made an extra portion or two to go in the freezer.

It's funny how some of us want babies to come soon whereas others (me included) are happy to wait. Hopefully I have another week of putting my feet up.

Is this baby number 1 for you all? I have a 2.5 year old and trying to get her prepared by keeping her involved, but also having her stay overnight at grandparents' houses. I've brought her a little gift from the baby, and will get her to choose a teddy to give to baby. Not sure what else I can do to make the transition easier for her

38+5 with DC2 and fed up!

Finding it v hard to sleep and generally uncomfy. 3rd session of acupuncture today so hoping that starts something! Get BH snd cramps mainly in the evening but they come to nothing. Not noticed any plug loss but didn't with my first either.

Come on babies!

Oh I see , is it making you nervous he’s big ? Big babies run in my family 😟 The hot weather is rubbish when your this big ! Have you had any other signs yet?

Ive heard about the heartburn relief when they drop has your baby engaged ?

My BH have been coming on more last night and today but last week baby wasn’t even engaged at MW appointment 🙄 at least you’ve definitely lost your plug that’s good !

This is my first baby I wouldn’t be so keen to have them out if i was more comfy , must be extra tiring with a 2.5 year old. How was your first labour ? x

I saw your other post saying your getting BH but baby’s not engaged , same as me. People keep saying to me your not even due yet don’t worry but I keep worrying il go overdue , how do it go with your first child? x

@sh13 with my first I went to bed on due date feeling completely normal (had dine3a long walk in day) and about 11pm started getting mild period cramps that didn't stop and got gradually more painful x

So no waters breaking or show or anything really! DC born 2 days later as was v slow!

@sh13 a little bit yes! Though I also know they can get the weight estimates quite wrong! I had a scan at 37w6d weeks and he was measuring 9lbs6oz! I have another scan next week (if little one hasn't shown up!).

@LivingOnAPear we have it the same that only the consultants can approve sweeps before 40 weeks. I want a natural birth and the midwife centre said that I could only then have a sweep at 40 weeks (whereas the consultant wanted me to have one every 72 hours). It gets confusing with all the different advice and procedures from different people!

Well it's been over a week since I lost my plug and NOTHING else has happened 😩 almost 39 weeks now.

@fee1234 same 😫 lost mine last Saturday and now nada! So frustrating!

38+1 here. Induction is booked in for Thursday due to size and other complications. DC1 and quite honestly I’m scared shitless!

@sh13 first labour started off well, progressed quite quickly (well around 10 hours start to finish) to fully dilated, planned a water birth but the water slowed my contractions down and I wasn't getting the urge to push so ended up in stirrups, episiotomy and kiwi delivery! Not ideal, then my placenta wouldn't budge so had to go into theatre have that removed but by then I was on such a high because baby was here it didn't phase me much. Also had a 3rd degree tear hence why I've opted for a csection. It sounds worse than it was but honestly it wasn't that bad, I surprised myself at how well I managed my pain without any relief. You'll do amazing, good luck :)

Hi all, I'm 39+1 today and have had a little bit of the plug last night and this morning and some cramping/back pain but that's all so far - I have a sweep booked for Friday but hoping she comes before then!

I’m 38 +2 and also have a big baby! Had sweep yesterday and induction booked for next Sunday but didn’t want to make it til then really...but also want him out now..! All this talk from the midwives/Doctor of what can happen with bigger babies makes me nervous...!!!

Hi all! Nice to read all your stories! I am 35 weeks now and starting to feel really anxious as it's getting nearer to my due date! I'm just hoping she comes early as I don't know how much longer I can cope with this pelvic pain..it's starting to get me down as I am used to being active. The boredom is setting in
