And so ready to have their baby??!!

I have my sweep booked in and I'm convinced I'll be overdue! I just don't want to be pregnant for 1 more week let alone 2!

Yep! I’m 39+4 and definitely feeling ready now! Got my sweep booked in for 40+1 and another for 40+3 so really hoping things will get moving soon!

My first was 41+1 so hoping for something a bit quicker this time!

Nuttyaboutnutella · 18/05/2019 21:04

Meeeeee! I'm 39+2 and utterly fed up. Went for a walk earlier, baby felt so low and like it would just drop out, bit of backache but nothing. Getting fed up as struggling to do much with my 2 year old. Have a sweep booked in for Thursday.

RiverMeadow · 18/05/2019 21:13

I wonder when I'll have my next sweep if the first is unsuccessful?

Also when do they book your induction? Here it's supposed to be when you are a week overdue but my friend had to wait until 40+10 as they were too full by the time the MW booked it!

Yup me too. 39+3
Have done so much walking.. Feel like the baby is so low and ready to come confirmed head is enagnged the past week and lots of BH and twinges but... Nothing.
In Ireland where sweeps don't seem to be booked as routinely as UK 😭

Tinekittie2 · 19/05/2019 02:53

39+5 here and feeling so sorry for myself! This post helps a lot, knowing I'm not alone!

Got my sweep booked for Thursday but waiting another 4 days feels like a lifetime. Where I live they won't induce you until 40+12 so could have ages to go 😭

I have so much back and pelvic pain honestly don't know what to do anymore waiting for this baby!

Furble · 19/05/2019 05:36

Is anyone else still toddler wrangling solo at this stage? I’m dreading Monday when my husband goes back to work, my poor kid has watched more Postman Pat in the last week than in his whole lifetime. I feel awful but we’re barely managing to make it out the house once a day if I’m honest.

cowchickenduckdog · 19/05/2019 10:32

I'm 39 weeks today with my first. I'm sat in my shop now slumped uncomfortably behind the counter wondering how long before little'un arrives!! I've had no mention of sweeps from the docs. I do have a community midwife appointment at 40 + 1 so if I haven't dropped by then I guess that will be the conversation. Feeling like I have so many things to do but zero energy to do faff all!
Glad this post is on here - good to know I'm not on my own this last week or so!! xx

Furble · 19/05/2019 13:52

Been out for a lovely long walk today. Lots of lovely strong Braxton Hicks but nothing more alas! Off to bounce on my ball and watch a movie! Hope you are all doing ok today! We’ll be meeting our babies very soon!

Tinekittie2 · 19/05/2019 14:02

@Furble are you due on Tuesday like me?

Also having Braxton Hicks but nothing else. People from my birth class are all giving birth before 40 weeks which doubles my frustration! And also people messaging to ask if I've had the baby yet/anything is happening. Makes it feel like I should have already given birth :/

Sending everyone going into labour dust!

Furble · 19/05/2019 14:32

@TineKittie2 Yes snap! Due date buddy!

I didn’t join a birthing class so fortunately don’t know anyone else who’s also expecting any time soon but can totally relate with the folks asking if you’ve had the baby yet all the time. I just reply and say I’ll let you know when the babies here and hope they get the message! Everyone is just excited for you but I think they don’t realise how annoying it can be to reminded that you’re still pregnant when you’re a bit tired of it!

I’m really hoping the sweep does the trick on Wednesday. I had one when I was in early labour last time and totally worked for me.

Good luck everyone please keep the baby updates coming!

RiverMeadow · 19/05/2019 18:29

I wonder who will be first to have their baby?! Either way it won't be long for any of us!

I'm so sick of the 'any news?' texts!!!

I was having pains last night, I thought it might be labour, but no - I fell asleep!

OP posts:
Furble · 19/05/2019 18:51

@RiverMeadow I’ve had the same and get so excited and then they peter away and the next thing I know I wake up and it’s morning! 🥴 At least you got some rest and it’s probably your body limbering up for labour bit by bit.

oliviat93 · 19/05/2019 19:41

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and so ready for this baby to arrive! also have a bit of a cold so not having a fun time at all :(

RiverMeadow · 19/05/2019 19:55

I'm just sick of the stop start pains at night. It's been going on for weeks. I wish it would just start so it can be over and done with!

At what point are you all being offered induction?

OP posts:
Nuttyaboutnutella · 19/05/2019 20:22

I can sympathise with you all about the niggles and pains. I start thinking 'is this it?' but nothing. Went for another walk earlier, lots of backache and discomfort but it stopped. Ironic thing is, with my 1st baby, I had NO build up. My waters started going quite suddenly out of the blue, so I should know better.

Also getting fed up of 'Any news/signs/twinges?' texts. No! If there's anything, you'll soon know. My mum is doing is constantly, despite knowing that she'll be one of the first to know because she's looking after my son when I m in labour! So frustrating. I just sarcastically say "yeah I had the baby in the middle of the night but forgot to tell you" Grin

VaselineHero · 19/05/2019 20:44

I'm 38+5 and so ready now to have this baby too!

Furble · 19/05/2019 20:45

Hehe @Nuttyaboutnutella and having the baby in the middle of the night! You’ve hit the nail on the head!

@RiverMeadow I’ve got an induction booked for 41 weeks as I’m trying for a VBAC so they won’t let you go beyond 41 weeks with the section scar apparently. Fingers crossed it won’t come to the induction!

@oliviat93 a couple of my good friends came down with colds just before they went into labour, maybe it’s a sign!! 🤞

oliviat93 · 19/05/2019 20:49

@Furble it's been a few days and nothing yet but hope so!

RiverMeadow · 19/05/2019 21:18

Here's hoping tonight is the night?!

I wake up every single morning thinking god how am I still pregnant!

OP posts:
RiverMeadow · 20/05/2019 06:50

Still here.....!

OP posts:
Furble · 20/05/2019 08:25

And me! Really hoped that last night was going to be the night and slept awfully as I was filled with nerves as a result! Silly woman!

Lorrie3 · 20/05/2019 09:52

And me!!
Has 2 what I'm fairly sure we're big contractions yesterday and a serious amount of pressure all day and.... Nothing!!!

VaselineHero · 20/05/2019 11:28

I'm trying to resign myself to the fact it could be another 2 weeks! 😩

Furble · 20/05/2019 12:24

I’ve been so tearful all morning. My 2.5 year old is bored and doesn’t really understand why I can’t do the things I normally can and keeps jumping all over me and I’ve got the most cracking headache that won’t shift. Fortunately my mum has agreed to come up tomorrow and stay the night which is a massive relief and then she’ll drive me to my sweep on Wednesday. We’ve reached naptime (thank goodness) so I’m going to try and get some more sleep!

RiverMeadow · 20/05/2019 12:53

I can totally understand how you feel about having a toddler too. I feel so much guilt that I can't get on the floor and play etc.

In other news, I've just lost my mucus plug? Not sure if it was all of it or just part but I'm hopeful! Still no niggles or anything....!
