@MrsEG from what I've read food aversions / cravings and a general taste for all things beige is pretty standard in the first tri. It's only a little while in the grand scheme and if you've eaten well before and I after I doubt it's going to be a problem.

@Delilah7 big hugs, you will get through this ❤️

Woke up feeling not nauseous which feels great but is making me panic. We can't win can we?! Capitalising on it with a breakfast of porridge and raspberries!

MrsEG · 04/07/2019 08:28

@purplefig As luck would have it, I’m seeing my consultant today before the scan tomorrow, so going to chat with her about it. The main concern for me really is my anxiety/mental health, it’s been a bit skew-wif this week. I’m also feeling kinda fine this morning too, other than the mondo boobs - which is causing more panic. I can’t help comparing myself to people - like from 6.5 weeks my sister basically had hyperemesis and couldn’t even keep water down and I am driving myself insane wondering why that isn’t happening to me too. Which I know is crazy as in the same breath my two best friends had no sickness whatsoever! I’m just finding that the wondering is really taking up a lot of my thoughts this week (I don’t think the impending scan is helping) and I’m just feeling a bit 🤯
Enjoy the porridge!! We have a July 4th themed bake sale at work this afternoon so I’ve been up since 7 making Reece’s blondies!

purplefig · 04/07/2019 08:33

@MrsEG yeah that makes total sense. I'm exactly the same as you when symptoms dip, even though, like you, I know that can normal. It's a right old head fuck isn't it?! All the best with the bake sale - yours sound lovely (if I could stomach them 😂). And it's great you get to meet your consultant again tomorrow.

MrsEG · 04/07/2019 11:47

@purplefig We really can’t win!! So I spoke to my lovely consultant. She told me to stop beating myself up haha. She said in the first tri she always tells women just eat whatever you feel you can. She said some women who are extremely sick struggle to even keep food down so the fact I’m eating at all is really good. She did say if I was worried I could use a food diary or something like MyFitnessPal to try to prevent overeating (which is what causes my anxiety - past eating disorders) but she isn’t concerned in the least about my new addiction to spaghetti and jacket potatoes haha.
She also said symptoms will come and go not just day to day but even throughout the day, and that didn’t concern her. But we’ll know for sure either way tomorrow anyway after the scan. One more day!!

thumper59 · 04/07/2019 12:12

Afternoon ladies hope all is well 💕 haven't been on in a few days- looks like we have a few scans coming up!!

@Delilah7 little Ethan is just lovely 💕

I'm 22+3 today. Little man is SO active. Both my scans have said he was a wriggler 😂 I literally feel him morning until night though! Must be his big feet 😂 I can't remeber if I attached the scan photo of his feet or not. It's my favourite scan pic I've had so far. Had a call to say our furniture is in now too! Which is great as we expected a bigger delay. So it'll be operation start the nursery for us in the upcoming weeks - and a holiday in 3 weeks which I am super ready for!

LikeTheFruit · 04/07/2019 12:32

@EltzBee thanks so much. Slowly starting to feel more real the more stick I pee on 😂 waiting on a clear blue digital to arrive then I'll stop! I love an escape room, did one for my hen do last year.

purplefig · 04/07/2019 12:53

@MrsEG ahhh that's so good - nothing beats reassurance from a professional! I'm totally with her, whatever you can get down is surely fine for now e.g. I had more potato for lunch 😳😂. Great to hear her opinion on symptoms too. I felt fine last weekend and again today, I guess fluctuating hormones etc. What times your scan tomorrow? I'll be thinking of you. I still haven't heard from my midwife re: booking appointment yet :/

@thumper59 it must feel so strange in your stomach! What're your plans for the nursery? It's super early days but I don't think we'll do much as am I right in thinking they sleep in the same room as you for a while? Oooo a holiday - very nice. Where are you off to?

thumper59 · 04/07/2019 13:41

@purplefig how long was it since you've been in touch with the midwife? Mine came within a couple of days for my booking appointment! We are going greys and whites I think with some baby animal pictures 😃 I am very bland😂. We've not got to much to do, empty the room, coving and painting then the furniture can go in! Yeah we've got his little next to me for our room already! There is no rush I am just very impatient and he's got that much stuff already I can't wait to get it all put away 😂. We are off for a week in Crete, I've never been but I can't wait! I'll be 26-27 weeks so I think it'll be quite a nice time to go away 😊

Delilah7 · 04/07/2019 14:00

Thanks ladies for your support!

Royally pissed off though . My silver cross pram is amazing however the car seat is too upright! little Ethan slumps his head over all the time and it's not safe for him. They will send a comfort insert out for free but not for a couple of weeks!! I can't go out due to this 😔

daisiesandpeonies · 04/07/2019 16:08

@Delilah7 hope they sort that out for you soon - not good to be stuck indoors 😢
@thumper59 that sounds like such a nice and stylish nursery theme! Love using grey to decorate - it's actually really warm. Farrow and Ball elephant's breath is my fave but £££, currently saving up to do our living room 😂

MrsEG · 04/07/2019 16:29

@Delilah7 Oh what a nightmare!! Are they sending it out urgently? Can you still take him out in the pram in the interim (not the same though, I know!!)

@thumper59 Oh lucky you have a fabulous holiday! We have the same week booked off in August and are trying to decide what to do with it at the moment - I’m normally such a do-er but a week on a beach reading books and doing little else is sounding very appealing right now!

@purplefig It’s not until 3 tomorrow - it’ll be a long old morning! I just want to get it over and done with. I’ve been in the ultrasound department before and it’s so so busy and full of pregnant women so I find it all a bit stressful. Keeping fingers and toes crossed at the moment.
Oh my word - you need to call them!! I really think this is an admin error at this point - it really shouldn’t take this long and you should certainly know by 8 weeks too!

Delilah7 · 04/07/2019 16:31

@daisiesandpeonies we are just gonna go buy another car seat and isofix tomorrow. Too much agg. OH's mum will have the silver cross for her older step grandchild and then when Ethan's older! I can't be stuck indoors otherwise I'll get down the hole I did before :(

@MrsEG we can yes but we are abit far walking wise from anywhere we can visit people so! X x

MrsEG · 04/07/2019 16:41

@Delilah7 Oh what a bloody pain in the arse. Hope you get it sorted soon and are out and mobile again before you know it!! Hope you are doing okay otherwise lovely x

Delilah7 · 04/07/2019 16:42

@MrsEG just stress I don't want or need! :( hope you're all ok x x

purplefig · 04/07/2019 17:10

@MrsEG urghhh that is going to be a long morning. Are you at work? At least that'll hopefully speed the day up. I'll have all my fingers crossed for you lovely. Yeah I bet you're right about it being an admin error - I have a pathological dislike of bothering the NHS, so I was going to leave it until next Tuesday (9 weeks) but you've convinced me to call tomorrow.

@thumper59 where I live you fill in a form at the GPs and the midwife collects and is supposed to get in touch with you direct. It's been about 3 weeks though so think I'll call them tomorrow. Your nursery plans sound nice - a lovely calm and soothing space. Oh wow a holiday to Crete, that sounds lovely!

@Delilah7 what a pain in the butt - at least you've got a good plan though and aren't going to let it get in the way of your plan.

Delilah7 · 04/07/2019 17:19

@purplefig I just can't be stuck indoors otherwise I will get Postnatal :(

BabySquid · 04/07/2019 17:33

@Delilah7 I'd have thought Silver across of all males would have a car seat that fits a teeny one... that's a bit of a disappointment, and a mega downer for you now that, A- you're stuck in till you get a new one, and B- have to fork out for a new one! I'm glad you have it covered tho and have a plan 🤗

@MrsEG I hope your morning goes fast tomorrow, like mine will hopefully🤞🏻

Been talking to my friend today who's 21weeks, she doesn't know what she's having but thinks it's a boy... I also told her I think it's a boy, and she asked if I had an inclin about mine... in 6 pregnancies of friends and work colleagues I've only been wrong once.. so I don't really want to guess mine then I'll think that all throughout the pregnancy! And we don't want to find out. Anyone who doesn't know, do you have any thoughts on what you're having??

Delilah7 · 04/07/2019 17:35

@BabySquid I know it's really disappointing! And the fact it'll take ages for them to send a comfort insert out that probably won't work either! X

purplefig · 04/07/2019 17:37

@BabySquid ooo that's a good track record! I keep changing my mind between wanting to find out and not. DH wants to find out.

BabySquid · 04/07/2019 17:41

@purplefig my DH used to want to find out when we were ttc but only for convenience, now it's happened he thinks like me, it's the only true surprise of your life and I wouldn't wanna ruin that, plus I want him to tell me when I've finally popped it out... just have to get used to calling it 'it'!

purplefig · 04/07/2019 18:24

@BabySquid ahhh that's so cute! Yeah 'it' is difficult to warm to isn't it?! Perhaps a sexless nickname?!

So I've just booked a private scan for this Sunday. Still haven't heard from midwife so I wouldn't be surprised if my 12 week scan is pushed back. Will chase them tomorrow - but feels good to have this one booked. Nervous now.

BabySquid · 04/07/2019 19:08

@purplefig how far are you now? I've got mine on sat when I'll be 8+2 excited 😆

daisiesandpeonies · 04/07/2019 19:29

What's the usual pattern for scans? I haven't met the community midwife yet. I've already had a scan super early, but only because they were worried that I might be ectopic.

BabySquid · 04/07/2019 20:09
