@stormtrooperjulian every month?! Wow!! I was a 32C before, had a couple of 32Ds at home for pre AF and they look comically small so god knows what size I am now.

MrsEG · 02/07/2019 09:34

@mrsof20118 Sounds like it’s all starting for you!! Good luck x

@Tropicana1 Enjoy your scan today lovely

@purplefig The only bra I’m finding comfortable at the moment is my M&S comfy/no underwire bra, it’s a dream. They come in cup sizes but also do even more general comfy ones just in a size 10/12 etc. Very very comfy. If all goes well on Friday I’ll be stocking up on a few more!

@stormtrooperjulian Enjoy the swimming! I got a new swimsuit last month and keep meaning to christen it at the pool, I also have past back niggles and I really find just floating in the water makes it feel wonderful!

purplefig · 02/07/2019 09:58

@MrsEG it's funny you mention good old m&s - I have a lace bralette from there in a 10 and it's the only comfortable bra I've got left. I'll definitely go and take a look next time I'm near a store. How're you feeling today? X

stormtrooperjulian · 02/07/2019 10:40

@purplefig I started off at 32DD, seem to have settled at 32H for the moment. I hate it, I never wanted big boobs! I’m dreading how they’re going to look in a year or so when they hopefully go back to normal size 😐

@MrsEG I’ve been told that swimming will feel great towards the end too when I’m huge and uncomfortable because it supports your weight... I’m not feeling anything like that yet but I guess I’ve still got a fair way to go.

We have just ordered our pram! Been keeping an eye on the Mothercare sale waiting for it to come into stock. It’s quite nice to have one of the big things ticked off the list.

EltzBee · 02/07/2019 11:23

@purplefig I went to M&S at 12 weeks and got fitted for non-wired bras, the lady fitting me made sure to get me a size that fitted but also had room to 'grow' in it that I could adjust. I'm nearly 32 weeks and they still fit, they're also the most comfortable bras ever! It's the 'Sumptuously Soft' range that I got them from.

@stormtrooperjulian nearly-new-sales are brilliant; also keep an eye on Facebook Marketplace as people are always selling bundles of baby clothes!

We picked up a huge bundle of clothes (honestly includes more vests than I think we can every use :D as well as loads of sleepsuits) for £10 on FB, and picked up some sleepbags and towels etc for just a few pounds too. We also got extra sleepsuits, dresses, cardi's etc from a MumtoMum sale, they were like 50p each or 3 for £2 etc - bargains.

The nice thing at the sales is people have things on tables/racks and you can choose the little things you like :) we were going to go to another this Sunday but we now have more than enough baby clothes, as a colleague also gave us a big bundle they had been given (it was so big I shared it with another lady who is due similar time and lives in the next village). We've only bought a handful of things brand new. We will probably go to another sale once Baby has arrived (I think there's one every 2 or 3 months here) and get things for next-size up. We have loads of 0 to 3 now, and enough newborn/up-to-1 month that was included in the mahoosive bundle that if baby does come out small we won't have to panic! We've also bought a few things in slightly bigger sizes when we've seen it and gone 'oooh'.

Woke up in the night with dreadful cramp in my leg, literally made me cry out with pain! Had to get DH to rub my leg to get it to go, doh!

@stormtrooperjulian exciting news on the pram :) it's such a relief isn't it getting the bigger things 'done'! We need to fit our other car seat still (we tested it in the shop so know it fits), and this weekend my parents are coming up to give us a hand with putting the wall stickers up in the nursery :D way too excited about that!

purplefig · 02/07/2019 11:47

@stormtrooperjulian, @BostonFern's post made me do the same thing too. Despite having never heard about nearly new baby sales, it turns out there are loads near me. Excited to go and pick some bits up in a few months. I'm with you on the hating bigger boobs sentiment too. They feel so huge already and constantly get in the way / are painful to sleep on. I did a bit of reading and it seems like they'll stay bigger if you're planning to BF and then once you stop, they tend to go back to where they were before, sometimes a bit bigger. I guess it depends on lots of factors though, like genetics and overall weight gain.

@EltzBee Ooo that sounds like a plan! I might do the same and wait until after the 12 week scan. Still haven't even had my booking appointment details through yet (8 weeks today) so no idea when I'll hear. Sorry to hear about your leg cramp, that sounds painful!

@MrsEG I've done no exercise beyond dog walks since I found out Shock. I'm just too shattered to even contemplate it! Swimming, however, sounds quite appealing. Like you, I've always found it quite relaxing.

MrsEG · 02/07/2019 13:03

@purplefig You can’t go wrong with M&S! Have you chased your GP or midwife? The appointment will be between 8-12 weeks so you don’t want to end up missing it - perhaps it’s gotten lost in the post.
I am okay; a bit up and down the last 24 hours. Feel very in limbo and just don’t feel I can allow myself to get excited before fridays scan. I’m constantly torn between trying to be positive and then being filled with utter dread. It’s going to be a long week I think!

Cookie0508 · 02/07/2019 13:06

Thank god the weather's gone a bit cooler. Saturday was pretty rough. If we get another day like that I suggest everyone gets their own outdoor paddling pool! Works wonders.

35+1 and my lungs are properly getting squashed now. 2 weeks left of work! On the subject of bras, the M&S nursing seamless bras are amazing. So comfy! I may not end up using them for what they're made for but I still recommend!

purplefig · 02/07/2019 14:18

@MrsEG oh I bet you area, that is so totally normal. Even though I have no history of MC, a week or so ago I felt so low and just couldn't get excited about anything. I think it's hormones, along with all the other stuff you've been through. Have you got anything you could distract yourself with this week, to make Friday come around a bit quicker / take your mind off? I chased GPs yesterday and they said they don't know when the midwife team are supposed to get in touch. They passed on their direct number, but I just feel a bit pushy. God I am so British sometimes.

@Cookie0508 ooo thanks for the tip - I shall try them out on my fact finding trip to M&S! Agree it's nicer it's a bit cooler now.

LikeTheFruit · 02/07/2019 14:37

Hi everyone 👋

Very tentatively joining this thread after getting my BFP on Sunday. I think I'm 4+4 so very very early. I'm excited but also very nervous.

@purplefig where I live you have to phone the midwives direct which I did today and got given my dates for booking and scan. I'd give them a ring. Hope you're doing well!

purplefig · 02/07/2019 14:41

@LikeTheFruit CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Amazing news!!!! How're you feeling??

Ours is supposed to be a GP form that gets passed on to midwives who then get in touch. Much more open to human error 🙄

BabySquid · 02/07/2019 15:13

@purplefig I'm so glad you've brought up boobs... I was wondering the same. Mine haven't grown THAT much, I'm in one size bigger but my nips are still tender af! So wearing my bra is horrid looks like I'll be heading to M&S after pay day lol I'm also thinking about starting swimming, I too haven't done anything in the way of exercise since finding out 🙈

BabySquid · 02/07/2019 15:15

@LikeTheFruit congratulations on the BFP hun. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months.

purplefig · 02/07/2019 15:31

@BabySquid oh yes, tell me about it. SO TENDER. Also I'd guess mine have grown 1 maybe 2 sizes bigger and now when I take my bra off at the end of the day the nipples have kind of been pushed in on themselves and sort of half ping out. Definitely can't be good. I'm with you on the post pay day m&s haul.

BostonFern · 02/07/2019 17:17

@purplefig it was a 'mums2mums' sale, it randomly came up on Facebook so I thought I'd give it a go! Re bras I bought some maternity/nursing ones from matalan and they are pretty comfy. (I went up two cup sizes by week 14, so make sure you get something stretchy to accommodate rapid expansion 😂

@stormtrooperjulian sounds like you've done well with your Facebook find! Some of the ladies at the sale were selling brand new clothing for 50p a piece saying that the baby grew so fast and they had so many clothes that they just didn't get to wear them all- so I think getting some second hand bargains is great as I won't feel so guilty when baby outgrows them! How exciting to have ordered the pram too. What have you gone for?

@LikeTheFruit Congratulations!

MrsR16 · 02/07/2019 17:41

@LikeTheFruit yay!!! Congratulations!! Great to see you 😘

You ladies talking about bra sizes... I've gone up 4 cup sizes so far! Although I'm not convinced I was wearing the right cup size beforehand! 😂 DH loves it!

TrashKitten10 · 02/07/2019 18:48

@LikeTheFruit Congratulations! Had it sunk in yet? :)

All you ladies with your ginormous growing boobs, be a bit generous and share with me won't you?! Mine had a brief moment of fullness in the first trimester but at 21 weeks are completely back to normal. I want bigger boobs! 😩😂

LikeTheFruit · 02/07/2019 18:52

@purplefig hi!! So nice to see you again so soon. I was going to give your smoothie a go this month as well😂😂. I'm feeling good. A bit nervous, have had cramps on and off for about 5 days now and dread every time I go to the loo in case there's blood. But otherwise well.

@BabySquid and @BostonFern thank you both so much!

@MrsR16 thanks you!! Great to see you too, how many weeks are you now?

@TrashKitten10 thank you!! Nope definitely not sunk in yet. Keep staring at the tests like is this real!

Talking of boobs, mine are already at least half as big again already! Im a bridesmaid in 3 weeks and I'm worried I won't for into the dress if they continue to grow

MrsR16 · 02/07/2019 19:18

@LikeTheFruit I'm 15+5! Only a few weeks to go before I get to see Peanut again 😍😍

I do love the fact that no-one bats an eyelid about what we chat about on here. Could you imagine meeting up for coffee and comparing boob size increases?? 😂😂😂

daisiesandpeonies · 02/07/2019 20:14

Hello ladies - wondering if I could join you?? I was involved in the TTC #1 thread quite a long while ago, I was there early on, but dipped off as I was really struggling emotionally.
We had actually started to have some fertility testing done privately as we reached one year of TTC.
And then yesterday.... I got my BFP!!!! 14 months. Can't believe it. Super paranoid but super happy 🎉 Hope everyone is having a good pregnancy so far ❤️

Catching up with those from TTC 1st baby - thread 4
MrsEG · 02/07/2019 20:26

@purplefig Nope, not really! Just a long long week of work. I’m too tired in the evening to do anything anyway, but looking for a new box set to keep me entertained as we speak!

@LikeTheFruit Congrats :)

@daisiesandpeonies I do remember you! Wow, what a BFP - have you tested quite late? Huge huge congratulations xx

@MrsR16 Ha I know, current talk topics with DH are sore boobs and discharge; don’t think it’s really doing it for him!!

TrashKitten10 · 02/07/2019 20:30

@daisiesandpeonies I remember you from the thread :) Huge Congrats, a very well deserved strong positive after all that time waiting :)

BostonFern · 02/07/2019 20:31

Congratulations @daisiesandpeonies !

daisiesandpeonies · 02/07/2019 20:44

@TrashKitten10 @MrsEG thank-you 😊 it was a late test. I have long cycles that are irregular: 35-42 days. We'd been for some testing and it was looking like hormonal issues on my side, doctor wanted us to go for more testing but thought we'd wait until after our big holiday in May. The Doctor said get in touch when my period came after I was back, so I waited for the blood, but then it mysteriously stopped after half a day. I've never spotted before, but didn't read much into it. This was a few weeks ago. Then yesterday morning when I woke up early to use the loo I realised I was over 42 days. I had one pregnancy test left in my bathroom so I took a deep breath... positive! I then drove to the 24hour supermarket like a lunatic and came back loaded with clear blue. All positive! I've been in a daze for the last 24 hours. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one 🤞🏼

Fivebyfive2 · 02/07/2019 21:25

@daisiesandpeonies, congratulations sweet, that is amazing!! So pleased for you xxx

@Bostonfern, looks like you did well at the nearly new sale, can't beat a good bargain 🙂

@stormtrooperjulian, fab about the pram, must feel so nice having one of the main things ticked off the list!!

On the subject of nothing being TMI here... I get a bit of discomfort for about half an hour 'down there' after sex these days! It doesn't hurt during or any other time and it's only uncomfortable for a bit, but it's a bit weird!! Anyone else experienced this??
