@MrsEG thanks lovely- I know exactly how you feel too. I've had a pretty symptom free week and have been so down about it- Constantly poking and prodding my boobs and was even asking my DH to feel them to see if he thought they had got smaller! It might just be wishful thinking but they feel a bit sore again today and I feel like I've been mildly queasy. That could be down to the crazy heat though.

I've been at a bbq today on Brighton beach and wearing a cossie- everyone kept mentioning how good my boobs look!! One girl even asked if I'd had a boob job and another was like "have you always had these amazing perky boobs?!" I said it was because I'd put on weight and she was like "or is it another reason?!". All of this was said in a lovely jokey way but it seems my boobs are going to give the game away before I do!!

I had a wobble last night and even though we've got an NHS scan on Tuesday we've gone and booked a private one for tomorrow afternoon 🤦‍♀️. Our booking appointment is Monday and it just felt really upsetting to think we might go and then find out on Tuesday something was wrong. I know that's completely mad though!!

@thumper59 thanks so much for sharing that about your symptoms- it really makes me feel more normal. It seems all you hear about pregnancy is how poorly everyone is so it makes me worry that I'm not feeling like that.

@Fivebyfive2 I've been watching bits and it looks amazing and makes me want to go too! I just said to DH I want us to go the year after next with baby!! Just saw Lizzo who was so brilliant and I thought Stormzy was amazing too- so powerful. Not that impressed by the Killers being the headliner tonight- a bit too much of a uni band who've had their day to me!!

Fivebyfive2 · 29/06/2019 23:20

@MrsEG, don't worry too much about the food for now, a little bit won't hurt and you'll get into a rhythm soon xx Glad you had a good time at the bbq and ooo you're a Glasto veteran!! Bet you have some stories 😎

@Bettythecat, good luck at the scan tomorrow! Yay for perky boobs!! I asked dh how looked earlier and he just smiled and said 'boobs! ' 😂

Guys, Toy Story 4 is awesome!! Really funny and I got soooo emotional!! Could be the hormones 🙂

MrsEG · 30/06/2019 08:50

@Bettythecat Oh bless you! Hope all goes really well at the scan today for you. Yes, DH is constantly commenting on my boobs too ‘They’ve grown again today’!

@Fivebyfive2 I know, I think it’s a combo of being on hols so we’ve eaten out all week, and also not exercising at the mo as consultant needs to sign me off for that this week, so I just feel so guilty about it all! I’m spending the evening food prepping later (but also out for tapas for lunch 🙈) I loved Toy Story, I cried a couple of times!!! So good! Good luck at your scan tomorrow.

thumper59 · 30/06/2019 09:35

@Bettythecat I know, I worried about that when I was earlier on too. Except them few minor bits I feel great, and have done all through. He's been kind to me so far 😂

Bettythecat · 30/06/2019 09:37

@MrsEG try and let go of the guilt- no-one needs yet another thing to feel guilty about. Remember that a good diet is a balanced one- not one that's "good" 100% of the time. And there's nothing inherently wrong with tapas either! The fertility nutritionists always say a Mediterranean diet is the best so surely tapas is perfect!

Tropicana1 · 30/06/2019 10:33

Just adding myself to the list :)

@Fivebyfive2 i'm also feeling anxious for next weeks scan! A mix of excited and also nervous!

@Tropicana1, yours is Tuesday isn't it? Sorry if I've got that wrong? How are you feeling symptom wise? I'm feeling pretty 'normal' except more tired and emotional!! Xx

Tropicana1 · 30/06/2019 12:32

@Fivebyfive2 yea Tuesday :) I'm feeling much better, morning sickness has almost completely subsided apart from the occasional wave of nausea, but haven't actually thrown up now for almost 2 weeks! Definitely feeling less exhausted too, but then even though I know symptoms tend to lessen towards 12 weeks it makes me worry that they're subsidising because somethings wrong 🙈 can't bloody win!

Fivebyfive2 · 30/06/2019 13:49

@Tropicana1, glad you're feeling better!! At least we don't have long to find out and I'm sure all will be OK 🙂

Got my Cure t-shirt ready to sit and watch them at Glastonbury on the telly tonight, what a nerd 😎

TrashKitten10 · 30/06/2019 15:11

Hope your scan went well today @Bettythecat.

Adding my date in with a slightly sceptical girl heart. I've been adamant all along it's a boy and I'm still wondering if when I go back next Monday little boy bits will have appeared 😂 Not helped when I went into mothercare and the sales assistant regaled me with stories of people finding out the original guess was wrong Hmm Has that happened to anybody any of you know?

MrsC87 · 30/06/2019 15:32

@TrashKitten10 it can happen with girls more so than boys. How confident was the sonographer? Do you have a pic to see if we could compare to my boys?

So glad it's cooled down today, I sat in my pants all day yesterday 😂🙈

TrashKitten10 · 30/06/2019 15:44

@MrsC87 She said that they're never 100% but she would say it was a girl. DH read that as her being very confident but cannot fully commit and I read that as she might be guessing :) Showed us the three lines which indicated girl but I read the same as you, boys can hide themselves and only reveal it later on. We got one awful face on photo where baby looks like Voldemort. They gave it to us for free it was so bad and even my mum was like 'oh.. right' when she looked at it 😂 I have to go back next Monday as baby was too awkward to measure, let alone photograph so hopefully I'll get a slightly less terrifying photo then. Obviously I'll be chuffed with a boy but I'm starting to get my head into calling the baby she, thinking of girls names etc so if she turns out to be a he I'll be in a right muddle :)

Fivebyfive2 · 30/06/2019 16:05

@MrsC87, glad I wasn't the only one sweating in my pants yesterday 😂

Catching up on The Killers set... The singer dedicated a song to his mum who died and now I'm full on crying!! Dh thinks I've gone completely mad I think!! Xx

BabySquid · 30/06/2019 17:48

@TrashKitten10 it happened to my friend, was told they were having a boy (after two girls) came out a girl, they'd decorated the nursery, bought things for a little boy etc... she sent her husband to mothercare for girly things in an instant haha

Bettythecat · 30/06/2019 18:17

@TrashKitten10 it was amazing thanks darling! Measuring at 8w4d so a day ahead and the heart rate was 170! Baby is looking a lot more like a baby too- we saw little limbs and a head! The place was in Mothercare though which was slightly odd as it definitely would not have been a good place to be if the news hadn't been good. They also had a massive screen on the wall and I was like "is there anyway you can hide that in case it's not good news?" And she said "close your eyes" 😂. Lol. We had a sneaky look at some bits after- I like the look of the ICandy and the Stokke oval cot (although it's v expensive). Has anyone else gone for either of those? I'm so tired today I think the heat is really getting to me! I actually had no idea you could get the sex wrong!! What's the chance of that happening?

Fivebyfive2 · 30/06/2019 18:50

@bettythecat, that's awesome!! So glad all is going well 🙂

We might have a look at prams after our scan tomorrow as long as all is OK (🤞) So excited to start telling more people... But also so nervous in case something is wrong and we have to break news to the parents. I just keep thinking, all was good at 9 weeks so we should be OK. Omg I need to stop rambling!! 🤦‍♀️

stormtrooperjulian · 30/06/2019 19:28

@Tropicana1 when I got to 11 weeks it was like a switch had been flipped and I suddenly felt normal again, so don’t worry about symptoms fading

@TrashKitten10 my boy was very obviously a boy and not shy about showing it, but I’ve heard of plenty of cases where the scan tech hasn’t been sure or has guessed the sex wrong!

@Bettythecat I’m so glad your scan went well!

@Fivebyfive2 fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow! I thought I’d be excited about telling people but I actually found it really awkward, I just felt like I was announcing ‘we had successful unprotected sex!’ 😂

Fivebyfive2 · 30/06/2019 19:42

@stormtrooperjulian, ha ha that made me cackle! Mil was like 'don't put it on fb until I've told so and so' and I had to be a bit clear that we aren't planning on announcing it like that, we're just gonna tell people as we see them / send private messages etc...Had to clarify as otherwise she'd probably be putting it on there for everyone to see!! 😂

BabySquid · 30/06/2019 19:57

@stormtrooperjulian haha I know I think that about telling my mum and dad!! Even tho we've been married for 2 years in Oct, it's still odd telling my parents that we had successful unprotected sex!!
@Fivebyfive2 I know what you mean, I'd hate for someone to announce it on fb or anything as that's not really what I want to do either, and I'm swearing my MIL to secrecy until I'm ready!!

Need all your opinions guys... it's my 30th birthday in Aug, I'll be 12 weeks on the 1st Aug, and having a party on the 3rd, to which all my friends will be invited.. now, do I tell them when they get invited just so they don't bring me Prosecco/Rum as a gift(which most would), or wait till the party to tell them if we've had our scan on/around the 1st?? #confused

Tropicana1 · 30/06/2019 20:16

@Fivebyfive2 we're not doing a Facebook thing either any my mum is definitely more keen to spread the news than me 😂 she's literally dying to tell everyone

@stormtrooperjulian Haha I feel exactly the same awkwardness - telling my male boss felt really awkward and Christ I could barely even get the word pregnant out when I told my dad 😂 Maybe I'll just let myself grow a bump and people can try to awkwardly work out if I'm bloated or pregnant

MrsEG · 30/06/2019 20:30

@Bettythecat Thanks Hun, I just had some paella in the end which was lovely but god I feel ropey this evening, I can’t stomach dinner and have just sent DH out for some plain rice cakes. He’s made some really lovely fish cakes and I can’t even look at them!
I am so so pleased the scan went well, you can enjoy the booking in appt tomorrow now!

@Fivebyfive2 @Tropicana1 enjoy your scans this week girls!

@TrashKitten10 I have a friend who’s sex was changed! They had an earlier 16 week scan with the sole reason to find out the sex and were told girl, and at the 20 week scan (after buying some pink baby gros to celebrate) were told it was a boy! It was a boy in the end - he was just tucking it in 😂

TrashKitten10 · 30/06/2019 20:43

@BabySquid @stormtrooperjulian @MrsEG Oh no! It definitely isn't uncommon then Grin

@Bettythecat So pleased for you! It's incredible how baby like they already are at 8 weeks isn't it! Did you get a photo? Bet it was lovely to have a browse as well. The heat is awful, I really feel for those about to pop having to put up with it, feeling very thankful for my late autumn/winter baby and getting to waddle about when things are going to be a bit cooler :)

@Fivebyfive2 Is it your 12 week scan tomorrow? Pregnancy nerves are ridiculous aren't they! Definitely treat yourself to a little look around at prams afterwards, have you got your eye on any in particular?

Fivebyfive2 · 30/06/2019 21:35

@trashkitten10, yep 12 week scan tomorrow!! I quite like the Mothercare Journey and there's a Chico one I've seen online, but haven't had a proper look in other shops yet so we will see!

Omg apparently when my line manager told the MD about me being pregnant again, because it's quite soon after my mc, his unofficial response was along the lines of 'they must be doing it all the time' 😂🤦‍♀️

Bettythecat · 30/06/2019 21:55

@TrashKitten10 totally agree! It feels quite lucky that we will be in big baggy jumpers when we are heavily pregnant rather than all the ladies having to cope with this heat! Yes I've got some pictures- I've attached it here!

@MrsEG paella sounds delicious! We went out for a massive roast in the sunshine haha!!

I know exactly what you all mean about it being awkward. Telling my dad face to face was just very weird- the same as when I still felt weird buying pregnancy tests!

Thanks for all your well wishes ladies.

Controversial topic alert: have you/will you be allowing yourself any booze at all when pregnant? I had a 125ml glass about two weeks ago that I sipped very slowly with a meal and shared the same with DH over dinner tonight. Other than that I've had nothing. The Expecting Better book says that it's fine but I still can't help worrying a bit/feeling guilty. Any thoughts?

Bettythecat · 30/06/2019 21:56

Sorry- here's the photo!
