@EltzBee I literally use fairy non bio powder ( old fashioned as my mum would say haha ) and I managed to see that comfort do a fabric conditioner that's like white. And it's suitable for babies! So we just use that for the whole house now ( only two of us at the moment hahaha ) xx

EltzBee · 16/05/2019 12:37

@Delilah7 will take a look - that's good to know some say they're suitable for babies! I usually just get whichever is on offer or own-brand lol...gonna have to start checking the product info!

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 12:42

@EltzBee it's called pure ultra x x

MrsC87 · 16/05/2019 13:25

I'm currently washing clothes as I'm on annual leave and making the most of the sunshine! I'm using fairy non bio. I did read online that we are the only country to use non bio, but it's not stopped me ha!
I thought it's the done thing lol!

For anyone behind me about 20-30 weeks, I'd recommend taking up the NHS birth classes. Hubby and I are on week 3 and it's been brill. Plus they are free of charge!

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 13:26

@MrsC87 I'm having mine in June! only the active birth workshop and bump birth and beyond. No breastfeeding ones as I'm not going to. Glad they're worth it! Xx

MrsC87 · 16/05/2019 13:44

Yes the active birth ones are very good @Delilah7
I wasn't planning on breast feeding but since getting GD and the benefits to both baby and I, I've decided to give it a go. Not putting any pressure on myself though xx

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 13:47

@MrsC87 it's good to be open minded about it. I find it hard with my boobs being so big I've always had ridiculously sensitive nipples like I can barely touch them myself let alone a baby. So that's the only reason I've opted not too and no ones said moaning to me about it ( midwife wise ) so I'm happy with that x x

MrsC87 · 16/05/2019 13:50

I think the breastfeeding police (as my sister puts it lol) come out once baby is here.
The advice I have been give is you just have to be confident and firm with what you want xx

EltzBee · 16/05/2019 13:53

@MrsC87 ah wow you guys get a series of classes? We have an afternoon on Saturday coming and I think that's it.

@Delilah7 glad midwives haven't been moaning! We're not going to bf either, going to go straight to ff. @MrsC87 I've already been lectured by two 'friends' for my decision - they don't seem to realise it's none of their bloody business!

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 13:56

@EltzBee @MrsC87 it's so ridiculous isn't it!! Whatever's best for you will be best for baby. Trust me xxx

MrsC87 · 16/05/2019 14:10

I'm not sure if you e developed this but the further I've got through pregnancy the more blunt I become with people about their opinions! Many a time I've had to put mother in law straight lol!
@Delilah7 @EltzBee every mother should have the right to chose and do what they wish too. Both my nieces were bottle fed and are doing great. Both 3 & 4 and ahead developmentally and academically.
I can see me lasting 3-4 weeks at max breastfeeding, but I'll let you know on that one when baby is here lol!

Yes ask your midwife @EltzBee mine are called birth and beyond xx

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 14:20

@MrsC87 I'm abit worried about the mother in law. My OH is an only child and I'm just worried she might try take over abit.
Exactly Hun! Try it and if it doesn't work just do what's best for you. Baby won't mind 🥰 xxx

EltzBee · 16/05/2019 14:24

@MrsC87 I think all ours mentioned was one Saturday session, guess it must be another regional/Trust specific thing?

Oh yes I've become a lot more blunt with people for sure too; I think my patience with peoples BS is just non-existent lately.

EltzBee · 16/05/2019 14:28

@Delilah7 we're the opposite, I'm an only child (have a step bro and sis but I was a teenager when they came into my life!) and my Mum has already said she won't be babysitting or things LOL. DH is a twin, and his Mum is itching to be involved and I'm trying to keep her involved enough but not too much (she's already offered to babysit and things.)

Delilah7 · 16/05/2019 14:30

@EltzBee I just don't want her over powering us. It's her first grandchild whereas my mums 5th and she's so relaxed. I can turn up or lump him on her whenever and she'd be fine. But with his mum I just worry she's gonna tell me how to mother! Xx

mrsof20118 · 16/05/2019 17:04

Very annoying when people criticise for not breastfeeding. My mum didn't with us but I'm going to try. I'd like to try to combination feed as soon as possible though as I don't want OH to miss out on feeding plus I'll be knackered doing it all myself.
Ah MILs! Mines got a chip on her shoulder already as she thinks she's not involved in the baby. We told grandparents to stop buying things as we've got so much now and she's got upset at that.I'm not having a baby shower as I only had two weekends I could do and could be moving one of those and only half my friends could come to the one weekend I was free. Also booked the week leading up to and the week of the due date for a few days to visit. Had to put my foot down and say we will let her know when she can come and stay once we are settled. Tolerance levels also low! X

ChaosMoon · 17/05/2019 06:31

I'm glad your boss is being reasonable @EltzBee. I'm using Ecover non-bio for all our clothes. If she's sitting on us most of the time, DH's and my clothes need doing too.

@mrsof20118 30cm is within the tolerance for 28 weeks so I'm sure you don't need to worry. Plenty of people measure over that but had normal sized babies. As you say, if you have a short torso, there's nowhere for it to hide!

It must have been lovely telling your siblings @MrsR16!

That's really exciting @RanchoRelaxo and @Delilah7! I loved it when I could measure how much pregnancy was left in single figures. It made it all so real.

@MrsC87 you may know about this but if you hope to bf it's worth getting the bf team to show you how to hand express colostrum ahead of time. It feels great to have a safety net to feed them if it's hard at first. Plus nipple stimulation is the only thing proven to bring on labour! 😂

@mrsof20118 if you want to combi-feed, can I suggest looking into a Bumble Bee or Hakkaa manual pump? I love mine. It's cheap, really easy and if you use it on the other breast while you're feeding, you can build up a stash quite quickly. And it's silent, which is nice at night!

Delilah7 · 17/05/2019 06:45

@ChaosMoon I feel so excited he's nearly here. I just want to cuddle him and know he's ok 💙

ChaosMoon · 17/05/2019 06:48

I bet you do @Delilah7. There's no better feeling in the world. 😍

Delilah7 · 17/05/2019 07:55

@ChaosMoon I'm in hospital again today. Hoping they let me Atleast have a growth scan soon if not a placenta Doppler. I know my ALP levels can be raised from that! Xx

MrsC87 · 17/05/2019 09:06

@ChaosMoon yes the diabetic team and MW have mentioned expressing colostrum at 36 weeks, I will ask about it next week at my appointment. So far I'm getting nothing from my boobs, dry as anything 😂🙈
Hoping today at the hospital goes okay for you @Delilah7 😘

I'm at the baby show tomorrow, excited for a day out baby related 😝

mrsof20118 · 17/05/2019 09:46

@ChaosMoon thanks. I have one similar I think to catch let down and will try that before or if I bother with a more expensive pump. Hoping I find thats enough. How are you finding combination feeding?

@Delilah7 good luck at the hospital today

thumper59 · 17/05/2019 09:59

Morning everyone. Just had a quick read through. I get behind so easy!!

@MrsR16 telling people is amazing isn't it!

@Delilah7 good luck today!!

Just been informed our furniture isn't coming till August now. Bloody August. I wanted it all in and done for July. I know it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I ordered it all early for that exact reason we could have it all done in our quietest month!

EltzBee · 17/05/2019 10:11

@ChaosMoon oh good point! I was trying to find out online if things needed to be 'non-bio' and couldn't find anything that specifically said they did.

@MrsC87 have fun at the baby show! Make sure to take some water with you, when we went to the Surrey one last month it was so warm! How are you getting on with the diabetic team?

@thumper59 oh what a pain! When is your due date? That's bad that they've changed the delivery date, who was that with? It's still a pain when you order things early to give yourself time when you know you'll be able to do stuff (we've done the same, most our furniture arrived yesterday, wardrobe due next month so that we can get it built/let it air/etc before the height of summer!). Sending sympathy hugs!

@Delilah7 hope you get on okay at the hospital today!

I had a pregnancy massage yesterday and my hips feel so much more relaxed today. The lady I see checked my pelvis and they've lifted slightly but haven't 'turned' which I think is a good thing! I didn't realise how much things do soften and move around :o

MrsC87 · 17/05/2019 10:21

@EltzBee yes will do, and snacks lol!
Getting somewhere now, injecting 10 units and going up to 12 tonight but fasting levels are getting towards the target range. I took myself to the maternity unit in weds as felt absolutely exhausted and had blurred vision, and they checked my levels and blood pressure and all fine so they are happy with me at the moment.
Enjoying the diet as losing weight 👍🏻😆 xx
