@Farmmum7 ouch that is steep! A lot of people here are going to have very bad teeth if the Tories sell off the NHS!

dottydally · 21/06/2019 10:23

@Mintypea5 I think that is part of it. If we already had a little one I'm sure time would be flying! Are you definitely finding out?

@LittleAndOften I pay privately for dental care but did get a free prescription recently! It's the little things Blush

@Farmmum7 that is a lot. Under a private dentist it costs me £33 for a routine examination plus anywhere from £35 - £80 to see the hygienist depending on what you have done. I do pay £14 a month for Denplan though so it's free when I visit!

I'm sad I never got to benefit from the free dental treatment but I do really like my dentist and I hadn't been happy with the care from local NHS practice in the past. They wouldn't let me have an emergency appointment despite having a cracked/infected tooth! Sad

Mintypea5 · 21/06/2019 10:46

@dottydally I think I want to find out! I love knowing I really do. It just feels special to me. DH likes a surprise but he's the best and will do whatever I want 🥰 I think because we have a name for both I love the idea of knowing that's my daughter or son xxx ... plus then I can really plan their nursery slight redecoration!

dottydally · 21/06/2019 11:26

@Mintypea5 your DH sounds lovely! I think DP would find out if I said I wanted to but equally he's happy with a surprise if that's what I want. The closer I get to my scan the more I realise I'd be disappointed if I found out now, so we are 100% going team yellow. I do feel wrong always referring to 'it' though so I can see the benefit of finding out!

What kind of decor are you going for?

Mintypea5 · 21/06/2019 13:50

@dottydally the rooms currently grey with gold stars from DS2. He's only 11 months (1 next week) so it's very recently decorated! I think once baby is here I'll change up the pictures and maybe put some extra wall decor up to make it their space rather than their big brothers

dottydally · 21/06/2019 15:23

@Mintypea5 that is very similar to the decor I want in our nursery! I thought I could add pink/blue accessories if I wanted to and both would go with grey.

Where is big brother moving to?

PyjamasForever · 21/06/2019 15:45

Had my anomaly scan today. Thankfully everything looked fine on it, so that's a big worry gone. Sonographer thinks it's a girl, I genuinely didn't have a preference either way, but thought it would be a boy again so that was a big surprise.

Mintypea5 · 21/06/2019 15:52

@PyjamasForever awww lovely! Glad the scan went!

@dottydally he's moving into our spare room(currently a dumping ground / study) but not yet! Baby will be in with us until they're about 6 months so we prob won't actual really add any decor / move DS2 until around now so he'll be almost 2! It's the biggest room apart from ours so will be DS2 room / play room as I'm going to be a sahm mum this time

LittleAndOften · 22/06/2019 10:16

Anyone else got a really lively jumping bean? Mine is going crazy this morning, it's like he/she's doing the jive! Grin

Didn't have any of this kind of early movement with ds. So different. So wriggly!

Mintypea5 · 22/06/2019 13:53

@LittleAndOften I defo have days when this one is very likely and I think I've felt them more often at this stage than I did with DS2. It's usually low, on the left or high up so hopefully my placenta is anterior right not in the bloody middle like time

LittleAndOften · 22/06/2019 20:57

@Mintypea5 mine are low down and central and tend to come after I've eaten!

HeartvsHead · 24/06/2019 13:48

Had my second 20week scan today and baby was much more cooperative so got the last few bits checked! I'm 21+2 and got my first boot from the baby last night. Very exciting but a way to go yet and they are only going to get stronger!

Managed not to see any 'parts' again so still a surprise!

dottydally · 24/06/2019 16:41

@HeartvsHead am I likely to be able to see anything in my scan? I don't want to know if it's a boy or girl but scared I'll be able to tell!

Yay for kicks too!

Leleophants · 24/06/2019 16:53

@dottydally tell them before but also makes sure you look away if you think they're going near. Pretty sure I've worked mine out! If they avoid the area like my second sonographer though then you should be fine. Depends how they do it

dottydally · 24/06/2019 17:05

@Leleophants how have you worked it out?

HeartvsHead · 24/06/2019 20:13

@dottydally I told the sonographer before I got on the table and she avoided the area. Anytime she was moving near the danger zone she froze the screen for a second. She also told me she was going to say 'he' throughout the scan before she had started as she didn't like calling the baby 'it' when talking us through what she was doing.

Tmnmpa1 · 24/06/2019 23:02

Hi all, my first time posting on the thread. I'm due the 13th Nov with first child.
I'm so excited for my next scan which isnt for another 2 weeks although I do have an obstrician appointment this Friday (not sure why I've received this appointment)....wondering if I will have a scan then??? I'm hoping so as the appointment is in the same maternity centre where I had my 12 week scan.

Leleophants · 25/06/2019 07:09

@dottydally I've had a few scans due to issues. Normally avoid but looked closer to that area and as baby moved saw some hot dog type shape. Second sonographer was better and told us to turn so never saw anything.

PyjamasForever · 25/06/2019 07:13

We have the same due date @Tmnmpa1!

Feeling a bit grouchy today. Still feeling sick and then today I went to put on a nice smart maternity top from my last pregnancy and it wouldn't do up over my belly Confused

RainhamRosie · 25/06/2019 07:37

Hi @Tmnmpa1 I'm due 16th November, also first baby. Next scan is two weeks on Thursday, I'm also a bit nervous!

Are you feeling movement yet?

dottydally · 25/06/2019 07:41

@HeartvsHead I hope our sonographer is the same then. I've also heard about sonographers using he or she which is interesting!

@Leleophants were you planning to find out?

I'm so grateful I'm having a winter baby. It's hot and humid here and I can't imagine trying to cope 9 months pregnant! I will probably also moan that I'm cold in November but for now I am gratefulBlush

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 25/06/2019 23:15

@dottydally urgh I agree with the heat thing, im buying a fan for the bedroom tomorrow for my side of the bed, if dp thinks he’s sharing my cold air, he has another thing coming- I need it!!

Is anyone else getting huge? I was a lot heavier starting out this pregnancy but I do not remember being this big at this point with any of the others- I’m going to download my old pregnancy progress photos to compare. Seriously huge here though.

Farmmum7 · 26/06/2019 07:32

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil I'm expanding at an alarming rate too! I was on the beach the other day with the other 2 pregnant women in the village they are due in September and October and I'm bigger than both of them!!!

The heat had me really uncomfortable the other day too I'm definitely going to invest in a fan for the bedroom the sickness creeps back when I'm tired so I need sleep!!

RainhamRosie · 26/06/2019 18:46

@dottydally

Look at how much my feet swelled!! This humidity is killing me. I had to go out and buy flip flops at work 😳
