My 20 weeks scan letter says empty bladder.
I was asked to empty mine within minutes at my 12 week scan too 😂

I had my consultant appointment yesterday which went really well. Going to be shared care with them and midwife and i still have all birthing options available and being given extra scans at 28,32 and 36 weeks. At end he offered a listen if babies heartbeat which was great and much clearer than at my 16 week midwife appointment when baby would stay still!

My 20 week scan is a week on Monday at 20+4. Can't wait!

Does anyone have any safe way of clearing sinuses / blocked nose? I've got a vapouriser plugged in, I've steamed, I'm covered in vicks, I've propped myself up and I just can't BREATHE 😭

I've got a bottle of Sudafed spray downstairs and I'm so tempted but I know we're not supposed to use it!

PyjamasForever · 16/06/2019 07:13

@RainhamRosie you can get saline nasal washes (I think one brand is sterimar), bit uncomfortable squirting it in but it really works if you're snotty and is only salty water.

Mintypea5 · 16/06/2019 11:14

@RainhamRosie if it's really bad your GP can prescribe one for you you just can't use that her counter ones without advice first / they won't sell them to us!

RainhamRosie · 16/06/2019 14:05

Thanks all! Trip to pharmacist for me today and if it doesn't clear up I'll have to see my GP...although I'm sure the no sleep is good practice!

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 16/06/2019 14:38

Hope you feel better @RainhamRosie sinus pain is bloody awful!

Has anyone got their cot yet? I was in my local charity shop yesterday hunting for rucksacks big enough to hold the eleventy billion things my girls need to take with them to guides camp and found an immaculate - I mean totally immaculate - stokke mini crib for €79 instead of €400 new. Going to order a new mattress and go in and buy crib tomorrow. Fingers crossed it hasn’t been sold. Has anyone had one before?

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil what a deal!!! Those costs are gorgeous! I really wanted one for DS1. Lucky you

We've got an Ikea cot which is great for DS2 so baby will move in there when he comes out our room. It was only brought at Xmas so practically brand new for this one 🤣

PyjamasForever · 16/06/2019 16:16

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil Amazing bargain!!! We need a new bedside cot (sold the last one) and then need to think about what we do after that.

BobbySD345 · 18/06/2019 14:08

Is anyone else at around 18 weeks and feeling big and uncomfortable already? The biggest thing for me is that my stomach is rock hard and I mean ROCK HARD. Is this normal this early on? I constantly feel like ive eaten a 3 course meal. I've also got that lightening crotch alot and stitch-like pains down my right side. They ease off when I move so I dont think it is anything to worry about but so uncomfortable. Whinge over ! 😂

LittleAndOften · 18/06/2019 15:57

Hi all, had an appointment with the midwife consultant this morning who said I'm a good candidate for vbac so that's positive news! I've got my 20 week scan next week then I'll see the consultant obstetrician at the end of July.

@BobbySD345 from memory with ds, having a hard bump is how it should feel. It's not like a beer belly which is soft and squishy Grin I suppose it's to protect the baby?
Have you felt movements? Baby is wriggling lots now and I'm having lots of lower tummy stretching-type pains. I've also got hay-fever and sneezing is agony!
My stomach is feeling squashed too. It will only get more cramped in there from now on. With DS I can remember having massive cravings for the taste of a roast dinner in the third trimester, but there was no way I could have eaten one - no room!

BobbySD345 · 18/06/2019 16:23

Hi @LittleAndOften thank you for the reply. I just can't get over how rock hard it is. It feels so stretched and tight. All I want to do is get home and get our of my clothes and into the baggiest loungewear I own !!

BobbySD345 · 18/06/2019 16:24

I've got no movement at all which makes me sad. We have booked a private scan on Saturday becayse I'm so anxious to know he is OK in there!

dottydally · 18/06/2019 16:56

@BobbySD345 I feel big but in the same breath I know I'm really not that big yet!

I'm 18+3 and have been feeling wriggles for the last week or so. It's very low but feels so strange. It's getting me through to my 20 week scan next week.

I think most people are 20+ weeks before they start to feel things properly so don't worry!

LittleAndOften · 18/06/2019 18:03

@BobbySD345 don't be sad! I didn't feel anything til 24 weeks with DS. it will happen when it wants to x

PyjamasForever · 18/06/2019 18:34

Good news about being a good candidate for a vbac @littleandoften. I keep changing my mind between vbac and elCS.

@Bobby345 try not to worry too much about the lack of movements. I felt quite a lot last night, but none today, I think when they're so small it's so easy for them to not be in a position you can feel.

I'm feeling big already, so that realistically means I'm going to be huge again. Struggling with weight gain too as eating is all that stops my nausea.

Zarara · 18/06/2019 20:28

BobbySD345 don’t worry I’m 20weeks tomorrow with my second and still can’t feel anything. When I had my private scan they said my placenta was at the front so takes longer to feel anything. When is everyone’s 20 week scan? Mine is next Thursday and I can’t wait to see baby again!

LittleAndOften · 18/06/2019 20:39

@Zarara next Wednesday! Grin

BobbySD345 · 18/06/2019 20:52

Mine is 9th July which is quite late ! I last had a scan at around 16 weeks when we found out the gender. Does anyone know if the sonographer in the private clinic saw anything worrying they would have referred us back to the hospital? Just thinking at 16 weeks they may have been able to see any of the concerns which can get highlighted at the 20 week anomaly scan. Overthinking everything I know...

PyjamasForever · 18/06/2019 20:52

@Zarara mine is on Friday!!

RainhamRosie · 18/06/2019 21:15

I have to wait until 11th July for the 20 week scan and I'll be 22 weeks!

Luckily we're off on holiday so hopefully that will make the wait seem less.

HeartvsHead · 18/06/2019 23:39

I can feel definate little kicks now but I am 20+3 as due 2nd Nov so little ahead of some of you. Still only internal but whenever I'm sat still for a period of time. Started about a week ago.

I'm 90% sure I want a VBAC but have not had any proper discussions yet.

Already had my scan but round two next week so lets hope baby is a bit more cooperative!

BobbySD345 · 19/06/2019 10:27

What's vbac ! I haven't got a clue on all the terminology? Anyone picked a name yet? X

fabaga · 19/06/2019 10:54

@BobbySD345 I think it's vaginal birth after c section?

I'm so excited for 20wk scan! Mine is 2nd July but just found out I might have to fly to the US that week for work so hoping I can rearrange it if the work trip is confirmed.

I think I can feel it move too! Although definitely not fluttery like most people say, mine is twitchy like if you get a tired eye and it twitches! It has happened for about a week and I didn't want to get too excited about it but I feel it all the time now and pretty sure it's baby...

Sleepyquest · 19/06/2019 19:01

Mine is next Friday yippee! Not sure I'm feeling anything yet, possibly but it's so light I can't be sure!

My tummy feels really heavy today and one of my boobs aches lol. Is this normal do we think? Grin

Mintypea5 · 19/06/2019 20:09

@BobbySD345 it's a vaginal birth after c section.

We've got names picked!

20 week scan a week tomorrow so excited! Almost this time last year I was admitted to hospital for reduced movements and put in ten induction sweet!
