I've got one sore boob! It's slightly annoying. They've grown lots too I've always been small (so small a woman once told me to look in the children's section for a bra!) Now I can only wear sports bras because they're the only thing comfortable and they get in the way when I'm trying to sleep I'm not used to having anything there 😂

My next scan is over 4 weeks away. My last one wasn't as clear as my first I didn't see any arms or legs and the poor thing look all squashed up! The consultant mentioned my placenta being at the front I don't ever remember it being mentioned before does it make a difference being on the front?

Mintypea5 · 19/06/2019 20:20

@Farmmum7 it just means the movements might be cushioned so you might not feel them as much. Doesn't effect birth unless it's low

How many weeks will you be at your next scan? I think your In Ireland right but surely you need a 20 week scan too! That's where they detect any potentiometer development problems

Farmmum7 · 19/06/2019 20:37

I'll be 21 weeks on my next scan apparently it's not compulsory to have the anomaly scan so you have to sign consent forms at your booking appointment for it. I've got my anti d appointment booked too and the Dr at 20 weeks so the ball is finally rolling.

I wasn't given a whopping cough vaccination with my last two but I've got leaflets about having it done from 16 weeks onwards so I'll ask my Dr when I'm next there. Is it offered in the UK now too?

Mintypea5 · 19/06/2019 20:44

@Farmmum7 20 weeks is compulsory here.
We agreed to having the combined testing for downs etc at our 12 week scan but 20 week is just something we have.

Whooping cough is offered here from 16 weeks now. It wasn't when I had DS1 7 years ago but last year when I was pregnant with DS2 they said it's now offered due to a rise in whooping cough cases in infants and babies. So they vaccinate us so Abby carries immunity. Such a horrible thing for them to catch Sad

PyjamasForever · 19/06/2019 21:50

That's just reminded me that I need to book my whooping cough vaccine. It feels like non stop appointments... I have 4 appointments in the next 5 weeks, plus whooping cough, physio and vbac midwife still to organise!!

Mintypea5 · 19/06/2019 21:54

@PyjamasForever it's crazy! In the next 4-5 weeks I've got midwife Friday for PGP, waiting for physio , need to book my whooping cough, 20 week scan next week, consultant, GTT and another midwife appointment

Hoping it means time will fly by!

dottydally · 20/06/2019 07:05

@PyjamasForever @Mintypea5 you both have loads! I have my 20 week scan next week and then my 25 week appointment at the end of July but that's it Sad time is dragging a bit. I'll feel happier post 20 week scan when I can hopefully start buying things and occupy my mind with planning!

Zarara · 20/06/2019 08:17

I’m just wondering does anyone know how you get your matB form? My next midwife appointment isn’t until 28weeks I think. Do you just call them? Or the doctors surgery asking for it in advance?

LittleAndOften · 20/06/2019 10:40

@Zarara from your midwife, after 20 weeks scan.

Mintypea5 · 20/06/2019 12:00

@Zarara last time I wasn't given mine until 28 week appointment. Which is annoying because my work want it by 25 weeks! I'm seeing midwife more this time due to high BMI so will get its at 25 week.

If you need it sooner you could request midwife leave it for you to collect post 20'weeks

Mintypea5 · 20/06/2019 12:04

@dottydally it really dragged for me last time. This time I think it's only faster because we've got a 11 month old (1 next Friday day after our scan!!)

I'm on edge waiting for the scan. Once I know everything is ok I'm going to start buying and organising. Think I'll cave and find our boy or girl

Hayesdays · 20/06/2019 14:17

hi @Farmmum7 just seen you've booked in for your anti D appointment, I've just found out I'm rhesus negative. Have you been through this before? I've done a little research and am feeling a little anxious about it, so any info you have would be gratefully received :) TIA

Kaff83 · 20/06/2019 14:58

@hayesdays I'm rhesus negative and this is my third. It's been fine - just had an extra jab pre baby and one after as standard. What have you read? I don't think there's anything to worry about with it?

LittleAndOften · 20/06/2019 15:38

Hi all. I had my first free dental appointment today. It was amazing! Sadly I had a clean bill of oral health so I couldn't take full advantage by having a ton of expensive surgery 😂

I may have my priorities wrong... Hmm

PyjamasForever · 20/06/2019 17:03

I feel the same way @littleandoften, once my nausea is managed enough to see the dentist I feel like I'll be begging them to give me a filling just so I make the most of free dentistry. Grin

Exhausted today. Sitting in the car outside nursery trying to psych myself up for picking up the toddler who will be wild and full of beans for the next 2hrs.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 20/06/2019 19:09

@Mintypea5 find out if it’s a boy or girl- you know you want to... 😈😈

Had my scan bumped up two days to 2nd July so I can’t wait!! DP and I went and picked out the pram, swing and travel cot we want (now we just have to pay for them!) and we bought baby’s first fluffy toys, so it’s beginning to feel quite real now.

Some inconsiderate arse went and bought my bargain crib... knew I should have paid for it when I saw it!

Anyone else getting the heartburn? Mines starting and it is not fun.

Hayesdays · 20/06/2019 19:21

Hi @Kaff83 amazing! That’s really reassuring to know! Thanks for sharing Smile Well I’ve read that my first should be fine but if our bloods mingle and she’s a positive then that will cause baby no2 problems (if I’m lucky enough to have another). Midwife seemed to think as long as I don’t have a fall or anything and get the jabs then all will be ok with any other babies. But I’ve read stories from other mums who had the jabs and still had problems with baby no2. So am keen to just learn as much as I can really. Sounding more positive after your story now though. I think it’s the fear of the unknown really plus the shock of finding out I have exotic blood haha! Feels like I need to join some sort of secret rare blood society or something Grin

Farmmum7 · 20/06/2019 19:23

@Hayesdays the anti d is fine it's just an injection while pregnant and again after the birth if the baby has a positive blood type. Contact your midwife if you have a fall, bash the bump or have a bleed though as you might need extra injections. I had a bleed 6 weeks ago and they tested my blood for antibodies at my last appointment and I've heard nothing back yet so I don't think I'll need an extra one for now.

@PyjamasForever I'm exhausted today I wanted to sleep by 10am but it's swim week at school so I had to pick up kids from school at 12 and sit on the beach for hours while they do lessons and pretend to be sociable I felt awful I can't wait for Saturday I'm not getting up!

I don't think I get free dental care during pregnancy. I am due a hygienist trip am I allowed the anesthetic?

Mintypea5 · 20/06/2019 19:36

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil they did not! That's such a shame. Hopefully you'll find another amazing bargain

Well and truly fed up of PGP now! Midwife tomorrow for physio referral... hopefully won't be too long a wait Hmm

Hayesdays · 20/06/2019 19:40

Excellent thanks @Farmmum7 that’s really good to know. I knew the ladies of Mumsnet would have reassuring words of wisdom Smile

PyjamasForever · 20/06/2019 19:54

@Mintypea5 PGP sucks. Have you got a good support belt? My serola belt is the only reason I can get to work, but think I'll end up on crutches in the next couple of weeks. I've also found it helpful to put a carrier bag on my car seat so I can swing in and out with my knees together.

Mintypea5 · 20/06/2019 20:07

@PyjamasForever I've got nothing yet! I assumed it was just a normal bad back over the weekend but soon realised it wasn't I could hear my pelvis grinding and was basiclly immobile for 2 days! Midwife said sounds like PGP so booked me on for a chat and referral. I think I've had it before but never this bad just assumed the weird thigh ache and pelvic pains / gain pains / dodge back and hips were normal pregnancy thing.

PyjamasForever · 20/06/2019 20:33

@Mintypea5 lots of nhs physio leaflets about it online too, so at least you can do some stuff now to minimise your pain while you wait. If you have sacroiliac pain I really can't recommend the serola belt enough though. It was expensive but I've been using it 4 weeks now and the week before getting it I couldn't walk around the whole supermarket, but with it on I can do a couple of hours on my feet.

LittleAndOften · 20/06/2019 21:50

@Farmmum7 the hygienist will advise you. My dentist wants x-rays but will have to wait til December! Are you not in the UK?

Farmmum7 · 21/06/2019 07:24

Nope @LittleAndOften I'm in Ireland. I have a medical card because we're on a low income and it entitles me to 1 check up, 2 free fillings and unlimited extractions (because who needs teeth) every 12 months but it doesn't affect the children I have to pay for each visit with them luckily they've had no issues but €50 for a 5 minute check up on a 6 year old is a bit much! I miss the NHS!
