Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

I find it terrible how a lot of you don't know your scan date yet! That would drive me absolutely crazy!! I got my booking in appointment and 12 weeks can appointment through at 4.5 weeks!
I too am not finding out the sex. My husband was quite keen but as he one carrying this baby and all going well pushing it out, I win!
I have names in my head a bit but we're not going to start talking about them until way later.

I think I'm going to be like you @Losd and wait a couple of weeks after the scan.
I want to tell me parents face to face and they live a few hours drive away although I'm seeing them a week after for a family wedding.
When I first got pregnant I was like "how am I ever going to keep this a secret!?" But the longer I go the easier I'm finding it! I was reading some people on other threads thinking of waiting until 20 weeks and I was actually like "yes, I could manage that!"
I definitely won't but I don't feel bad at all keeping it a secret currently

My scan's on the 10th but all being well we'll tell our parents next weekend after we get the harmony test results. We're going on holiday for a couple of weeks after that so like you @Aims4488 we won't be telling anyone else until we get back.

Haven’t got my scan appt either . I’m 10+2
I’m sure the midwife said she would ring on Tuesday with a date so I think I might have been forgotten about

Oh i remember there are a few of us with 12 week scans on the 10th June 😁.

I'm 11 weeks today also and I feel big like Iv put on a stone. I probably have. I need to buy new work trousers.

@Funnybunnyfluff my scan is the 10th and will be 12+3 then but we will see what they date me at!
I'm just praying it's not twins 😩 I don't know how I'd cope 🙈

My maternity trousers were from next but could do with another pair really.... no shops around where I live have maternity clothes in store which annoys me as I could do with trying things on but hey ho!

Is anyone finding they are swelling already as in hands and feet?! I struggle get my wedding ring off whereas it was loose before and at the end of the day my legs and ankles have swollen slightly..... I have a desk job but I make sure I move often 😬

Be interesting to see what they say as we think we are at the same stage.

I had a private scan and told,could see I had twins but one has not developed sadly. One was perfect at the time she thought I was 2 days ahead but she said 12 week scan will confirm this.

@Funnybunnyfluff yes, I'm basing my dates at lmp but they may say different! I hope I'm no later cos I don't want Xmas day date lol Ive got my Christmas dinner booked at my favourite pub lol!

The scan bought mine to the 18th but anything could happen. I so know my luck it's Xmas day 😭!

My DH said its least we won't have to go visiting all the family ... I said you have not thought about this one... they will all want to come and see the baby 🙈 😂

So I've just got dressed (don't judge, it's the weekend 🙈) and whereas yesterday I was looking quite chunky but it was definitely all bloat, today I have a proper hard not so little bump! I was expecting to show earlier this time round but I'm only 11 weeks, this is going to take some serious hiding!!

I don't have my booking in appt until this Thursday (6th) so won't get a 12 week scan appointment until then - hope they book it there and then!

@peasando I'm definitely not dressed yet 😂

I just got my post and got 20 week scan appointment for 22nd July then a 28 week scan in September. Didn’t know I would get one after the 20 week one!

Have you had your 12 week scan? That made hoe some people don't even have a 12 week scan date and you have the next 2 booked.

@peasando I only got dressed early as I was having my nails done at 9.45 otherwise I wouldn't be lol

I have had my NHS exemption certificate through this morning so I can get prescriptions and dental care free 🎉

I only had a check up early April and not due for another year.... I timed that wrong didn't I?!

Been lazy and took DS to MacD for lunch....McChicken sandwich meal yummy lol

Hi everyone, I’m a first timer and just want to ask a not very cheerful question 😬 I’m 10+3 and I just don’t feel pregnant. I’m not queasy or got indigestion anymore and my boobs are fine again. I think I’m so used to hearing the pregnancy = vomiting that I feel like it’s all stopped and it’s not ok 😢 I’m still shattered but otherwise you’d never know I’m pregnant, I’m not thin enough to see any bump yet. I had a scan at 4+5 because of my past history of miscarriages and that was all ok. My next scan isn’t till June 21st and I’m annoying myself worrying! Does anyone else feel the same?

I'm 11+1 and I feel a lot less pregnant than I did. I had a scan at 9weeks and all was fine but I understand the feeling of why do I feel better.

Mad we are stressing that we feel ok rather than unwell. My boobs are less tender now. I have aches in my tummy mainly at night like a stabbing pain nothing much but I keep wondering if that's normal.

Is there anyway you could have an early scan private scan or ask EPU? For reassurance? Keep smiling

@loubielou81 I'm in a similar position - the only "real" symptom I can say I have is being so tired. It can be disconcerting but I guess we're just lucky hopefully 🤞🏼

Hi mums and babies, congratulations to everyone. It's my first pregnancy and first post. I am 10 weeks due Dec 28th with very little symptoms apart from being very tired. This has worried me so much and I have such bad anxiety. I was told I may not conceive and then out of nowhere we got a positive. Happiest day ever. My husband has booked an early scan for today so I am hoping for the best. The day is dragging, I cannot wait until 4pm. Nice to have a group to share with :)

I got told we couldn't conceive too after 7 years we got our little miracle positive and I have a 2018 Christmas baby
.... annnd I'm due my 2019 Christmas baby on the 23rd
No symptoms is totally normal in most pregnancy's mine come & go every pregnancy is different, just go with the flow and enjoy every second of it, I missed my bump so much after I had my son last year 😍

My 12w scan is next Friday so finally less than a week to go! Went shopping today with my mum and she got me to get some maternity jeans - even though I feel like that might jinx it (haven't had a scan yet - what if there's nothing in there?!). I haven't had any vomiting which makes me wonder but still getting quite tired, sore boobs and hungry. Roll on Friday.

Jpaws surprisingly a lot of women don’t actually vomit during pregnancy. I only had one friend out of 6 that vomited. The rest were either fine or felt slightly sick but never got sick. This is my third pregnancy and I didn’t vomit any time during my first two and I’ve been okay this time around.

I sometimes feel slightly ropey if I don’t eat regularly
I have bouts of tiredness (but I’ve always been a lazy sod so not sure this is really a symptom in my case)
Apart from that I’ve only had the sore boobs

Thanks everyone! I feel a lot better knowing I’m not the only one. It does feel funny to feel sad that you feel sort of ok doesn’t it!
I’ve been a right whingepot all morning which is not at all like non pregnant me so I’m taking that as a good sign! I keep crying my eyes out but saying “I’m not sad I’m happy” so I don’t frighten my boyfriend 😂😂 roll on a nice big fat belly and wriggly baby!

When I was pregnant with my little boy I mostly felt fine - odd waves of nausea and more tired than usual but nothing really noticeable, I remember panicking about my lack of symptoms.

Now I realise how lucky I was...! 🤮

It's funny this pregnancy business isn't it, we never stop worrying whatever is happening!
