Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

12 week (and 2 days!) scan today 🥰🥰 baby was sound asleep sucking their fingers and went nuts when woke up, was treated to 3 somersaults and a full moon 😂 took forever to get measurements so scan was long, I was so happy just watching the acrobatics 🥰
good luck tonight @comps83

What a lovely picture @Losd! Congratulations!

SuziGeo · 29/05/2019 17:46

Hi everyone,
Hope I can join in. Expecting my first baby in December...15th Dec is UK due date but I live in France atm and here the due date is the 24th Dec (had no idea they calculated it differently). Will see who is correct😁 Been lucky here, and already had a 4 week scan and an 8 week scan...again a difference between UK and France that all my appointments are with a gynecologist. 12 week scan next week. Can't wait! Feeling exhausted and nauseous all the time, hoping that stops soon. No idea what to expect as first time and info here is in a foreign language so I don't understand 100%😂going to be na interesting journey.

Yay congrats @Comps83!

Funnybunnyfluff · 29/05/2019 23:10

Congratulations on the scan pics ladies, aw really lovely.

Has anyone else got Hypothyroidism?
(Under active thyroid) saw the Dr on the maternity ward today to up my hormones does due to blood tests.

Just wondering I anyone else has this ?

peasando · 30/05/2019 06:32

Yes info @Funnybunnyfluff but it's been under control for years so hasn't really been an issue this pregnancy. They did increase my thyroxine when I found out I was pregnant but then I had my bloods done and I was on too much so I had to come back down again 🤦‍♀️

peasando · 30/05/2019 06:32

I meant me, not 'info'!

Aims4488 · 30/05/2019 06:50

Lovely scan photos ladies so happy for you both. I have my private scan tonight at 5.45 and woken up this morning with right anxiety about it all also regretting the fact I had to book it after work as today is really going to drag 🙈 guess I need to just keep myself as busy as I can do today so not to think about it at all.

Anyone have any hints or tips that they have used with anxiety at this point? Think it's more after last time still don't believe this is happening to us but secondly a very close friend who doesn't know we are pregnant posted on Facebook yesterday about her suffering a MMC recently so that then has been on my mind plus if everything is ok with myself and baby of course I have to think soon about telling her our news and how to do this sensitively.

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/05/2019 07:48

@peasando

Mine has too been under control for years but have been told due to it. I will be a high risk pregnancy. Have you been told his information?

peasando · 30/05/2019 07:52

@Funnybunnyfluff I'm high risk anyway due to a history of recurrent miscarriages (not thyroid related - as far as we know) so I'm under a consultant anyway, but to be honest no one's really mentioned my thyroid apart from changing the dose at the beginning. I just need to get my levels checked a bit more often than normal but midwife can do that.

Mamabear12 · 30/05/2019 09:59

Nice scan photos! Today my scan went well. Always nervous before. Dh came along to see. Amazing to see how much the little one has changed from 6 weeks! It helps if you can do the scan early in morning (for me as I get impatient to wait all day). But if you must do it after work, just try to distract yourself and keep busy at work. Can your partner attend the scan with you to help with anxiety? When I get anxiety cold ice water helps me and gum. At least helps a little. Good luck at your scan!

@Mamabear12 glad your scan went well. Yeah unfortunately had to do it after work as only 2 of us in the office this week luckily I am a care co-ordinator and someone has called in sick for a supported living shift today so I will be kept busy getting that covered 😬 unfortunately my partner can't come with me as his shift got changed last minute and as he is duty manager can't get out of doing it. Going to just distract myself and on the way there have a good sing along to some music 😂 x

peasando · 30/05/2019 10:36

So glad your scan went well @Mamabear12! What did they say your due date is, has it stayed the same?

Good luck tonight @Aims4488

Mamabear12 · 30/05/2019 11:19

peasando it has now moved up to 21 December! Last scan they thought 24th December and from my period dates I thought 23 December. My dh and I were just talking before the scan about getting a sweep when offered to hopefully encourage baby to arrive before xmas :) I am hoping for 20th December.

So nice to see these scan pics and hear how all is going well I last had my scan at 7 weeks 6days as I had slight bleeding was happy to see all was well now waiting patiently for my 12 weeks scan but it isnt until the 18th June seems like forever away

December2019 · 30/05/2019 14:16

I had my scan yesterday and I'm 10+3 today so my due date isn't the 19th (my sons due date) it's the 23rd.... his birthday
My December just got really expensive 😂

Jowd92 · 30/05/2019 14:43

@december2019 oh dear! My expected due date is the 28th I already have a 10 year old 7 year old and 10 month old dreading what the house will be like Christmas and how expensive! All fun tho

peasando · 30/05/2019 19:22

Is anyone else still feeling really sick? I thought by now it would be starting to ease off but today has been my worst day yet - just completely exhausted and feeling sick all day. Just about made it through work (without getting very much done!) and have given my son a picnic tea in front of the tv (which never happens!) because my husband is stuck at work and I couldn't bring myself to cook. Now collapsed on the sofa!

Please reassure me that this will get better - I hardly had any sickness at all with my son so it's all new to me!

Mamabear12 · 30/05/2019 19:35

They say usually by 10 weeks it will start to get better from there, but for some it takes longer. Every pregnancy is different. This one I feel slightly more sick from late afternoon to bedtime. It seems with each pregnancy stronger symptoms. Good thing my first pregnancy there was nothing! Lol.

peasando · 30/05/2019 19:38

Well I'm 10+ something today (10+4 according to my dates, later according to scan on Tues - they said I was 10+6 then!) and no sign of it letting up - fingers crossed it passes soon, I'm barely managing anything at the moment!

December2019 · 30/05/2019 21:09

@peasando I've been really sick only thing that helps me is ice cold soda water and watermelon slices it makes your days so much longer than they need to be when your feeling like poo 💩
