Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@EmeraldRubyShark I have my booking in appt this week too. I only found out yesterday I was expecting first timer too. I'm 4 weeks today 💕.

My DH and 2 besties know but other than that I'm keeping stummmmp because I'm old fashioned like that. At least if my friends know I have the support should this go wrong.

rosesandveg · 16/04/2019 09:01

I'm a Christmas baby that already has a Christmas baby (Dec 2017) and am due another one! I think my due date is 13th Dec, found out nearly two weeks ago. Beginning to feel a bit sick now. We live a boat trip away from family and friends, and are leaving to see people over Easter tomorrow so will probably tell family as will be too hard to hide the not drinking and the kippers and egg noodles with butter combo I'm loving at the moment.

EmeraldRubyShark · 16/04/2019 09:16

MrsAshxo wow, a booking appointment scheduled already!? That’s soon. My GP didn’t mention anything about that. How soon are you supposed to have that appointment?

peasando · 16/04/2019 09:23

@EmeraldRubyShark I think it depends on the area, where I live (Scotland) you self refer to the midwife when you find out you are preggers and they give you your booking in appointment at 8 weeks. Best thing to do is probably google maternity services in your area? x

Pambo81 · 16/04/2019 09:28

Im 5 wk +1 and my booking appointment is thursday. Im in manchester. Did think it was a bit early myself but i guess the sooner im in the system the better!

ELJ1502 · 16/04/2019 10:06

I've been referred straight to a midwife too, but it's not until the 15th of May. It feels like forever away!

RLI1105 · 16/04/2019 14:48

It's funny how different it all works depending on where you live.
My booking in appointment is 28th of May and my 12 week scan is 14th of June. When I booked it I did make a pint of saying that it was early but the woman I spoke to said it was fine.

I was up in the middle of the night last night with what I think was bad wind. I seem to be getting cramps when I'm in bed and first thing when I wake up and then they settle once I'm up and moving.
I think I'm starting to have some nausea as well. I'm getting married in the 11th of May (!!!) and I'm worried I may be really sick for it!

@peasando I peed on a FR this morning and it was as dark as the control line and darker than the other two I've done which I was relieved about! I think I'm going to leave it now though and wait until next week to use a clear blue digital like you and (hopefully) see the 2-3 week come up!

MrsAshxo · 16/04/2019 15:08

@EmeraldRubyShark yeah we have a midwife at our GP 3 days a week so my details where forwarded so I could self refer at any time so I just got in with it xox

MrsAshxo · 16/04/2019 15:12

@RLI1105 I'm 4 weeks and I'm still not getting a clear blue pick up but I've had it confirmed by a doctor that I am pregnant 🤰 think I've got a a few dud tests 🤣🤣

RLI1105 · 16/04/2019 15:18

@MrsAshxo they are notoriously unsensitive so I wouldn't worry! It depends as well how dilute your urine is etc. If your Dr is sure then I would most definitely save your money!!

jpaws · 16/04/2019 15:28

@EmeraldRubyShark Seems like we’re very close! Not really been on a thread either so I presume so Smile

I left my details last week for midwife and haven’t heard from them yet. I’m undecided on whether to chase them up or leave them a bit longer. I think I’d feel better once I have an appointment booked to see someone as having only done my own PG tests it’s a bit unnerving lol.
I’ve had to tell my work as I work with X-ray machinery and drugs which I will not be able to handle anymore and because I had to tell work I couldn’t not tell my parents. So there’s a few people who know but cannot be helped really.

ELJ1502 · 16/04/2019 15:29

@MrsAshxo I haven't even seen a doctor. I was told that a HPT were enough and I just needed to ring the midwife. I find it strange that I won't see anyone at all until I'm 9 weeks.

Comps83 · 16/04/2019 16:09

I was offered a doctors appt today
Only got BFP yday
Opted for one in a few weeks instead just to make sure AF doesn’t arrive

MrsAshxo · 16/04/2019 16:48

@ELJ1502 My was by chance, I went to the doctor feeling unwell in general & with concerns as I had pains and I haven't had a smear so it was welcome surprise as I had no idea cramps where a common symptom. Then to work out by my dates I was around 4 weeks. My doctor just said book a midwife appt. I'll see a midwife and then probably won't see anyone till my scan so I'll have a long and anxious wait! Xox

MrsAshxo · 16/04/2019 16:50

@RLI1105 I just wanted to include my husband who obviously missed finding out with me as he wasn't at my 'I'm not well' doctors appointment. Xox

RLI1105 · 16/04/2019 17:43

@MrsAshxo Sorry, I didn't know that! That must have really been a shock! Have you told him now? Were you guys trying or was it a lovely surprise?

Choo89 · 16/04/2019 18:31

Hello 👋
Congratulations to everyone 🎉
I got my positive on Sunday at 13dpo after 5 months ttc. My app says my due date is 19th December!
How is everyone feeling? I was super happy and excited for 24 hours and anxiety has crept in. Super scared and I took another test today and I’m obsessing that the lines should be darkening more 🙈 haven’t called to make a midwife appointment as I’m scared to jinx things. Is it normal for happiness to be overshadowed by fear of something going wrong?

MrsAshxo · 16/04/2019 18:53

@RLI1105 I wouldn’t say we where trying as it was no ovulation sticks and obsessive compulsive tracing the dates. We where just at the ‘If it happens it happens’ stage. 🤰💕 and if happened so I am delighted.

Even if my little balls of cells let me know they where in there with rather painful cramp that made me think I was having an eptopic or somthing dreadful and a very minor UTI.

Did you find out the normal pee on a stick way?

EmeraldRubyShark · 16/04/2019 19:41

duebaby2 I told my boss already, he already knew we were probably TTC purely because I had surgery at the end of February (lap and dye test, endo) I had time off for, and it was pretty obvious why I’d had the investigations. He suggested back then that whenever I get a positive test I can choose when to tell him, either wait until I feel comfortable or straight away. I opted for straight away as I get free paid time off that doesn’t count as a sick leave or annual leave for all pregnancy related appointments or sickness, and I went to my GP yesterday to arrange my early ectopic scan.

Mamabear12 · 16/04/2019 21:50

Just tested with a clear blue digital and got 2-3 weeks. This is the first time I’m using a digital one and did it at end of day before going to bed. I drank loads of water to make me pee lol.

RLI1105 · 16/04/2019 22:02

@MrsAshxo How good is that?! Congratulations!! 😁😁 I found out the old fashioned way! My period was late although I was having quite bad cramps so convinced myself it was a mutant AF just biding its time! My temp stayed up though so I chanced a FR and got a great positive! I totally freaked out! It was our first month TTC.

I'm currently in work skulking round. We currently have a patient I should technically be avoiding now I'm pregnant. I really don't want to tell work until I absolutely have to though! This has resulted in me hiding and volunteering to clean the stock room 👍😂

Mamabear12 · 16/04/2019 22:10

RLI1105 Do you work in a doctors office? Make sure to avoid anyone that might be contagious with something serious!

RLI1105 · 16/04/2019 23:14

@Mamabear12 I'm an ICU nurse so I'm afraid it's part of the draw! 😂Certain patients on certain medications you avoid as well as the flu. If I'm allocated someone like that then I'll have to say something but I'll keep it to myself until my hand is forced. That's my plan anyway!

diplodoco · 17/04/2019 00:33

Hi everyone, can I join please, due date is 17th so just before Christmas but I was 10 days over with dc1 so that could take me up to actual Christmas. Did everyone just ring their surgery and ask for a booking in appointment? I can't remember what I did with dc1 or dc2 which sadly ended in a mmc. I'm a bit nervous but tentatively excited for a Christmas baby!

peasando · 17/04/2019 07:07

@RLI1105 I couldn't hold out until the weekend m, did another Clear Blue today and got my 2-3! Yay! Although definitely going to have to buy another one now for next week...
