Due date next Wednesday. Sweep
On Monday did nothing. I’m so fed up!!!! Hubby has banned me from driving. Mom shows up every day to help me walk my son to nursery because she’s scared I’m going to pop on my way! House is spotless. Washing all done. Shopping all done. Hospital bags ready. I am trying to embrace the end of what will be my last pregnancy but aghhhh!!!! I’m fed up!!!! Anyone else feeling like this? Just about to order a spicy curry with pineapple- wish me luck!!!!

@LuckyKitty13 I know what you mean I started obsessing over it too, how often you seeing your midwife? Is ahe easy enough to see for reassurance?

@shiny888 yeah I’m getting the same, husband and little boy just referring to me as grumpy now. I can’t explain how I’m feeling, im just so terrified something will go
Wrong this late on, I want her in my arms!

I’m not driving now, it’s frustrating I can’t even pop out to grab a carton of milk!!!

Had sweep number 3 this morning, different midwife who was a little rougher, she seemed positive that I’m not far off, she doesn’t think I’d make it to induction- I’m hanging on every word she said!!!!

@Chunk9 when's your induction date booked for? And how many weeks are you now? I hope that because she was a little rougher it will get things going for you!! It's so horrid because they just don't get how we feel!!
Today I've tried going for a 2.5mile walk with lots of steps and hill, followed by an hour in the ball with nipple stimulation and then straight after we 'did the deed' and nothing. Not even a poxy Braxton Hicks. So frustrating. I just think it's becUse she's back to back and isn't pressing down as hard on my cervix! Xx

Tootyfrooty35 · 17/03/2019 18:42

Can I join in with the moans and groans 😂
I'm 38+3 and on Thursday was almost driving myself to delivery ward and begging or induction 😳 and I'm planning a homebirth 😂 I was so fed up and sore.

Feeling more positive but been having growth scans as last baby was an 11lber and this one is >99th centile already 😖 no gd, I just grow them big.
Going in tomorrow for a stretch and sweeo from a consultant and really hoping it does the trick... I've been to 42+w twice before and honestly can't imagine another almost four weeks of pregnancy 😬

We're all doing amazingly though, and we're in the final leg... Baby's will all be here soon ❤️❤️❤️

CaseofEllen · 17/03/2019 18:52

Hey everyone, also still pregnant at 39+3 here! @shiny888 we share a due date!

Also feeling fed up! I'm having a baby boy and just want him out now, I'm so freaking uncomfortable and basically pissed off that he's not made an appearance yet 😂 sign spotting at every opportunity but nothing of any substance. Tried raspberry leaf, pineapple, sex, warm baths, curries and no progress.

Booked in for a sweep on Thursday at exactly 40 weeks. Was hoping I wouldn't get that far but looks like I will be. Wishing you all speedy starts, middle and ends of your labours Thanks

Chunk9 · 17/03/2019 18:57

@shiny888 well done you! You’re very committed!!! I’ve just felt shattered today! That makes sense, have you got some other exercises you can try? My son was back to back for a bit and I found myself rocking on all fours for hours on end. It’s hard not to panic but they can just suddenly turn last minute. Is this your first? Hope baby moves around for you so you can relax a little.

I’ve been told they’ll book my induction for the 25th- I was due on the 13th. So yeah 41 on weds coming. I so don’t want to be induced but I guess whatever will be will be! I can’t control it so
Trying not to worry, it’s just hard, I loved the birth of my son and wanted the same again, just paracetamol and gas and air, it went on quite a while but I really felt in control and embraced it all!

@Tootyfrooty35 wow big babies! You must be feeling really fed up if your were thinking of going to delivery to beg for an induction 😂. Hopefully LO will make an appearance soon for you!!

@CaseofEllen ooo same due date!! I'm also booked in for a sweep Thursday too! Hopefully it will get us both going. Can you imagine if we both had the baby the same day 😅 haha

Tootyfrooty35 · 17/03/2019 19:14

@caseofellen symptom spotting becomes ridiculous doesn't it... Almost like in the beginning with the tww... I feel like every twinge could be the start but I should know better. I went to 42+1 last time with barely any symptoms until my waters went sbd baby was in my arms three hours later 😳😂😂😂

@chunk9 I loved my last one too, it was intense and long second stage but I felt euphoric after and didn't have a sniff of gas and air even, I jsut breathed. Really want a similar experience given I know I can do it but going to 42+ is mentally and physically exhausting and I'm slightly worried this baby might be a 12lber 😳😂

@shiny888 I was sick as a chip. Baby's head is very low, engaging and popping out alot, got horrendous piles just from weight of baby I've been constipated like twice all pregnancy. I was just fed up. I was so against induction with my seocnd as my experience with baby no. 1 wasn't great. So I relly wanted to spontaneously labour and my head was in a different place. Now, with two under fives who I have all the time, husband out at work 7am til 6pm nd little family support it's HARD. Have some amazing mamma friends but we all have kids so we can morally support but the practical support of lacking. Thankfully my parents are stepping up more, we'll need them when I do eventually go into labour.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone's cervix to just get on and dilate already 😂😂😂

shiny888 · 17/03/2019 19:22

@Chunk9 oh gosh so you'll nearly be 2 weeks over due by then!! I literally pray for you that you go before then that's too long to wait! If I feel as fed up as I do I can't even imagine how fed up you must be feeling!
Have you had any warning signs that she maybe on her way?

Chunk9 · 17/03/2019 19:28

@Tootyfrooty35 moan away!!! Wow big baby, did you panic when you found out? It really is exhausting, it’s the not knowing and overthinking!!!! Yes I just had a bit of gas and air with my son towards the end, but it just felt amazing after, I could remember every detail and I loved it.

I have got a couple of things I want to get done the next day or 2, and my sons first nursery parents evening weds- I can guarantee it will
Happen spontaneously now I’ve actually planned things!!

@Caseofellen good luck with your sweep!!! Hope yours is more effective!!! I get what you mean, every twinge or fart makes you think oooooh could it be happening?! Then nothing. Straight onto google- is ...... a sign of early labour???? Nope!!!!

Come on out babies!!!!

Chunk9 · 17/03/2019 19:31

@shiny888 I know it’s crazy to think I could go that far, I can’t get my head round getting through another week and weekend. My son is 3 and a half and just can’t wait any longer! No signs so far, bit of bleeding after the sweep but none since. Plenty Braxton Hicks this afternoon- they do feel a little more intense, but then they did after the last couple of sweeps. I just don’t know what to think any more!!!

LuckyKitty13 · 17/03/2019 21:46

@Chunk9 midwife only works Fridays - I'll be seeing her weekly from this Friday until baby arrives. But to be fair she's not great - very kind but there have been a few minor errors with my care and some misinformation. I plan to decline any intervention until the 41 week check (I'll be 41+3) then I may consider a sweep - but I'm a sexual abuse survivor so really don't want anyone examining me there unless really essential. That's one of the reasons why I've a doula to advocate for me, am doing hypnobirthing to stay in control, and will be declining vaginal examinations (unless medically essential)

shiny888 · 18/03/2019 05:09

@Tootyfrooty35 oh gosh you poor thing! I hope things get going soon for you! It's horrid this waiting game when you feel so bloody tired and miserable 😅.

@Chunk9 it's such a mind game! The little niggles here and there you think off is this the one could this be the start! I was having gas pains before I went to bed and got excited as I read that's what it can feel like for some women the start of Labor.
Just turns out I needed to fart 😂.
I hope that the Braxton Hicks that seem more intense are the start of something for you!!

What else do you do when you can't sleep other than eat left over Chinese and scroll through Mumsnet 😂. Hope everyone else is managing to get a good nights rest!!

LuckyKitty13 · 18/03/2019 06:56

@shiny888 I feel your pain! I've been up at 4am quite a few mornings - I'm afraid all I did was eat toast and scroll on mumsnet - the struggle is real!! Haha

Smilenow2008 · 18/03/2019 10:29

@Chunk9 I see your still here with me. how are u doing? I am currently 40+6 and sulking. having a sweep tomorrow. hope the rest of you ladies are ok. im going to the local café for lunch cause I cant stand all the aching but nothing happening x

Chunk9 · 18/03/2019 11:21

@LuckyKitty13 sorry to hear she’s not been great, I’ve been passed around a few different midwives which isn’t ideal! Just see how you feel with the sweep, if you’re not comfortable don’t put yourself through it, I don’t think any of mine have done a fat lot!

@shiny888 thanks to your message about cold chinese I’m absolutely gagging for a chow mein now!!!

@Smilenow2008 good luck! Good idea going out for lunch! Take your mind off it. I’m doing ok thanks just really really fed up. Got my hopes up in the night, was getting extreme Braxton Hicks- more painful than uncomfortable- happened about 4 times on the trot, really thought it was starting- but then it stopped! Ughhhh. How are you getting on?

OP posts:
LuckyKitty13 · 18/03/2019 11:30

@Chunk9 thanks for your support. I just think she'll either come when she's ready, or she won't and I'll need to be induced. No point messing about down there if it's unlikely to influence things. Really don't want to be induced though, so that fear might get the better of me!

Chunk9 · 18/03/2019 11:34

@LuckyKitty13 us grumpy overdueers need to support each other lol. That’s my fear too, have read everything I can on induction and spoken to friends who have had inductions and I desperately don’t want one!!!

OP posts:
CaseofEllen · 18/03/2019 11:49

@LuckyKitty13 @Chunk9 I'm the same. Don't really want a sweep but dread induction so feel like maybe sweep might be worth it!

Might have the sweep, a curry, a raspberry tea, some pineapple and sex all on the same day 😂

LuckyKitty13 · 18/03/2019 11:53

I'm trying not to think about it too much until 41 and a half weeks! Just trying to focus on relaxing as I know adrenaline and stress will delay things. Lots of cuddles and nice food is my plan! With some walks and fresh air thrown in too!! I really hope it's smooth for us all and no inductions to speak of!!

Chunk9 · 18/03/2019 13:16

So I’ve had some greeny mucusy discharge, just a bit a couple of times when I’ve wiped (sorry if tmi) but I’m
Thinking this is a bit of plug maybe??? I’m getting my hopes up again!!!!

OP posts:
CaseofEllen · 18/03/2019 13:22

@Chunk9 I had this and midwife said most likely plug. Unfortunately it happened about two weeks ago and I'm still pregnant 😩

Chunk9 · 18/03/2019 13:31

@caseofellen boooo don’t say that!!! I’m hoping as it was following yesterday’s sweep it might be something??? Let me dream lol

OP posts:
shiny888 · 18/03/2019 13:49

So since 8 this morning Iv had a few loose bowels, Iv lost my appetite, I feel nauseous, lots of BH and my dog is being so bloody naughty and acting weird! Either this is the start of something or very much wishful thinking and the Chinese has just given me a dodge stomach 😅

shiny888 · 18/03/2019 13:50

@Chunk9 oooo that's what my plug looked like when it came! Greeny coloured! That was also two weeks ago but I lost more again last week aswell! Hopefully it's the start of something for you along with your increased pains!

CaseofEllen · 18/03/2019 13:54

@Chunk9 it is definitely progress whatever happens! Was there any blood?

@shiny888 my dog has also been weird today! I have a German Shepard and she decided to get into the smallest space on the sofa so she could lay with her head on my bump for about an hour 😂
