@Positivity86 midwife went well thanks. She couldn't tell me much about GD but am at the hospital this afternoon for that so will know much more later today. Also will have extra scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks so have a scan on Tuesday to check baby's growth.

@brighteye3986 that's good, at least they will monitor you with extra scans which will be reassuring. Let us know how your appointment today goes.

Has anyone had Braxton Hicks yet? I swear I had them for the first time last night while out for dinner but can't be sure....it wasn't painful as such but my bump suddenly felt so uncomfortable and tight, quite low down and I had to stand up and lean over the table to make it go away!

brighteye3986 · 10/08/2019 08:12

@Positivity86 appt went well. Was shown how to take my blood sugar and when... so now have to do that until the end of my pregnancy... started this morning as was having curry as was DH's birthday yesterday and the reading this morning is higher than it should be... hoping it's due to the curry so will see how it goes through the day and tomorrow morning. If it continues to be high 1st thing in the morning before eating I will probably have to go onto meds for it.

I've not experienced braxton hicks (at least I don't think I have!) I'm sure I've read somewhere it's quite common in the 3rd trimester... I found this link which may help you a little and may explain the reason for them

@brighteye3986 glad it went well and good luck with the readings.

Thanks for the link, I've not had any more yet. It was the strangest feeling!

goodacookie · 13/08/2019 11:28

@brighteye3986 Sorry to hear you have gestational diabetes, great that they have picked it up and can now manage it properly though. What did they say on the 7th?

@homley Happy nesting in your fortnight off. How lovely!

@DaisyMay25 Hope you have been getting good treatment for your mental health hun. x

@Positivity86 Have those iron tablets helped you? Hope so. Not long to go, how exciting!

So I am 18 weeks + 4 and just coming home from a TTTS scan. No signs of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome but little Triplet 3 is exactly that. Little. Apparently he is 22% behind his identical brother so that's a bit worrying. They want to see me on Monday 19th to check that TTTS doesn't suddenly occur. We're praying triplet 3 suddenly flourishes and catches up with his brothers!

brighteye3986 · 13/08/2019 12:54

@goodacookie I knew it was coming! Too many risk factors ticked! I just need to check my blood sugars 4 times a day... have a growth scan this afternoon and then consultant next Tuesday. Think they will end up putting me on medication as my overnight blood sugars are too high first thing in the morning. They sort themselves out during the day though so will wait and see.

Fingers crossed that triplet 3 catches up with the others. It amazes me really as there is only limited space available! At least they have picked it up and are monitoring you closely too!

Positivity86 · 14/08/2019 19:52

@goodacookie I like to think the iron tablets have helped but I'm still tired...guess that's just pregnancy though?! 30 weeks now and on countdown!

I hope you are feeling ok carrying your 3 little ones 😌 and fingers crossed twin 3 catches up!Let us know how your next appointment goes, sending lots of luck!

homley · 16/08/2019 20:47

@goodacookie fingers crossed for Monday let us know how they get on :)

@Positivity86 hope the tablets are helping but I think tired is going to be a permanent state for us all soon!

@brighteye3986 how did today go?

Been to see consultant today as baby had very mild ventriculomegaly on one side but it has slowly righted itself. She is very pleased with babys growth rate but if carrys on at this rate by 37 week scan they are wanting to induce at 39 weeks!

brighteye3986 · 17/08/2019 05:06

@homley baby is growing at super speed and is currently est to be 3lb 13oz- I'm 29 weeks on Monday! I have consultant on Tuesday and will be put on medication it's just waiting to see if they put me on metformin or insulin.

I think I will be surprised to get to 37-38 weeks and him not already decided to make an appearance!

OP posts:
homley · 17/08/2019 13:59

@brighteye3986 sounds like we may be on a similar growth rate they reckoned we were 4lb2 at 31 weeks. Do you reckon he will make his own appearance? I'd like mind to decide to come on it's own around that time! Will have to eat curry for breakfast, dinner and tea after we get back from holiday Grin

brighteye3986 · 17/08/2019 14:05

@homley I don't mind when he decides to appear as long as he is healthy. Although I have decided I need to start to sort out our bags for hospital so everything is there and ready should he decide to make an early appearance! I'm hoping that once I'm out on medication on Tuesday that his growth will slow down a little and then I can get a little further along. I'm starting to struggle a little at work but am really trying to work for as long as I can without affecting both of us so I can spend more time with him once he is here. I have a private scan booked for 1st sept and then my 32 week scan on 10th sept so will find out more at that scan I suppose.

brighteye3986 · 20/08/2019 18:38

I saw my consultant today who has put me on metformin and insulin for my GD. I was also advised that baby will be delivered between 34 and 36 weeks by c-section also. So I am currently 29+1 and have a max of 7 weeks before baby will be here. It's all just got a little bit more real and exciting.

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 20/08/2019 21:39

@brighteye3986 oh wow that's not long at all! How exciting. It's good they are monitoring you closely with the GD and have put you on medication. When do you finish work?

@goodacookie how did your latest appointment go to check the triplets?

I'm 31 weeks now and feel like the countdown is on! I have pretty much packed my hospital bags and washed all baby's clothes 😊

brighteye3986 · 21/08/2019 05:33

@Positivity86 I'm planning on finishing on 25th sept when I will be 34+2. I have a scan at 32 weeks to check baby's growth and won't know when they will book my section in until then. Hoping to start mat leave on the 30th when I will be 35 weeks and hoping that's the week they will book my section in for.... I am going to be spending this weekend washing clothes and packing my bag!

Hi All, greetings from our Moroccan babymoon!

Monday's appointment was ok thank you. The consultant determined that little triplet has some umbilical resistance so will likely have to fight throughout the rest of the pregnancy to keep growing. He isn't getting the same amount of nutrients as his twin and other brother. No sign of TTTS thankfully so we are just praying he continues to grow and that the amniotic fluid stays the same around them all. Consultant did not seem overly concerned, she said that it is often the case and would continue to monitor closely. They cleared us to go away for 8 nights so we have leapt at the chance, prior to the 29th's next abnormality and TTTS scan.

I am also becoming anaemic so was given some iron tablets to start whilst away. @Positivity86 Have you had any side effects on them?

@homley and @brighteye3986 Glad to hear your bubbas are growing well! Good cooking ladies Star

Am feeling good thanks, even better now we are away from London and taking a logistics snd planning break! Having to stay in the shade the whole time as it's an average of 43 Celsius here at the moment. Bonkers!

Positivity86 · 21/08/2019 21:01

@brighteye3986 sounds like a plan! It's so lovely washing all the little clothes and things.
I've got loads of annual leave to take so I actually finish work next Friday, I can't believe it!

@goodacookie hope you are having a great holiday and the heat isn't too unbearable. Glad your scan went ok and it's good that you will remain closely monitored 😊
I haven't had any side effects from the iron tablets really...other than they make your number 2s black (sorry tmi). I've heard they can make you constipated too but I've not had that...made sure to eat lots of fruit in case!

homley · 22/08/2019 06:33

@goodacookie hope you have an amazing holiday and you are coping ok with the heat! Really pleased that it isn't TTS and that you will be closly monitored 😊

@Positivity86 enjoy your time off

Ladies do any of you have any tips re sleeping? I have always preferred to sleep on my legs, so great but now every time I wake up in the night I am on my back. I am finding it very concerning now I am further along :( it is really concerning me especially since the consultant has asked me to consider early induction because baby is measuring big! I keep trying to wedge myself in position with pillows but it isn't working 😫

Positivity86 · 22/08/2019 14:57

Hi @homley I'm the same re sleeping I'm afraid! I always start off on my left side wrapped around a preggy pillow but end up waking up on my back! I mentioned it to the midwife today and she said really don't worry too much about sleeping positions, your body will go with whatever is comfortable, especially in the third tri!

homley · 22/08/2019 19:13

Thanks for the reassurance @Positivity86 😊 how are you getting on at the moment?

Positivity86 · 23/08/2019 11:56

@homley not too bad thanks! Had my 31 week midwife check yesterday and baby girl is head down with her bum and legs up by my ribs apparently! I'm rubbish at knowing which body part is what when I feel myself. Hope she stays that way now until it's time 😊
We have a scan at 36 weeks to check size and position (we've not had one since 20 weeks so I can't wait!)

How are you doing?

Newmumatlast · 23/08/2019 19:23

Hi I've just seen this thread and thanks for setting it up. I'm currently 33wks with my first baby after IVF which we were lucky to have had work first time especially as we didnt qualify for funding and had to privately pay. 5 years to get to our BFP now just terrified incase anything goes wrong but so far pregnancy couldn't have gone better

brighteye3986 · 23/08/2019 19:50

Welcome @Newmumatlast and congratulations!

Newmumatlast · 23/08/2019 22:09

@brighteye3986 thank you :) still feels dreamy

goodacookie · 23/08/2019 23:02

@Newmumatlast Congrats and welcome! It's an amazing feeling reaching the BFP after 5 years isn't it? We were 2nd round of IVF. Amazing to hear your pregnancy has been great thus far, am sure it will be for the rest of your time. Enjoy being pregnant, I am, although also feel I am dreaming daily...

brighteye3986 · 24/08/2019 05:21

@Newmumatlast I know exactly how you feel! We took 4 years TTC before being successful on our first round. Every time I feel him kick I feel blessed. Never thought I'd get here or the chance to be a mum, which has always been my dream. I'm 30 weeks on Monday but baby will more than likely be delivered between 34 and 36 weeks due to GD. I will find out when I have my 32 week growth scan.
