I've started this thread to have somewhere for those of us who have been through the IVF/ ICSI journey and have finally got our BFP! For support, symptoms chat and whatever else anyway wants to chat about....

Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing? I'm now 26+2 with a very active little boy! Every kick feels like a blessing!
Blood pressure seems fine since my last update and my midwife just seems to think it's the electric machines they use in the hospital!

I'm on a countdown at work as to how many working days I have left to go... also now into double figures until bubba is here too!

Hope you're all doing well 🥰

Hi @brighteye3986 glad to hear you are well and great news about your blood pressure! I agree with that every baby kick feels like a blessing...I love it so much!

I'm 28 weeks today and have a midwife appointment tomorrow, I wonder if it's now they start measuring the bump as I've not had that yet. I feel pretty good generally! Bending down/putting shoes on is virtually impossible now though due to my bump getting in the way. I also have perfected rolling out of bed haha 😆

goodacookie · 31/07/2019 18:52

Hi @brighteye3986 and @Positivity86

Glad you ladies are doing well and lovely to read about your brilliant progress. Hope your midwife appointment goes well tomorrow @Positivity86 - let us know if your bump was measured after all!

I had my 16+4 week scan yesterday and all three of our wrigglers are doing brilliantly. It was such a relief after the 4 week wait inbetween scans (I know I am lucky to have had such a short wait compared to others). It seems they will be scanning every fortnight from here on out to check for Twin to Twin Syndrome etc.

We also found out the genders yesterday and I am still processing the news: BBB!!! The overriding feeling we both had was being SO relieved they were all well but yesterday's relief has been replaced with thoughts today of "We are going to get through SO much food in our household" and "I am totally destined to be a rugby Mum!" Grin

Hope everyone else is doing really well X

brighteye3986 · 31/07/2019 19:10

@Positivity86 glad to hear all is going well. Oh the bending down... I feel your pain. In all honestly I haven't really worn anything except flip flops since I've been pregnant!

I have my glucose testing tomorrow- not looking forward to it or the fasting overnight.... fingers crossed my results come back ok.

@goodacookie glad to hear all is going well with you and the triplets! Oh my 3 boys.... they are going to cause you some havoc!

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 31/07/2019 21:10

@brighteye3986 yes flip flops are the best!!
Hope your glucose test goes well tomorrow.

@goodacookie wow 3 boys! Amazing to know you've got 3 little ones growing well, a complete blessing! Its great they are scanning you so regularly too. I hope they continue to go well 😊

I will report back tomorrow, I'm interested to know if my bump is measuring on track with my dates! Our next scan isn't until 36 weeks.. x

PrayingandHoping · 31/07/2019 22:42

Hi all!

Things are non stop here. Baby is measuring small so I'm under fetal medicine and I have fortnightly scans

I had my first bum measurement last week with midwife. Yeah so they are totally inaccurate!!! My bump measured 90th percentile!! So take that with a massive pinch of salt.

Back in for my next growth scan. Half of my hopes this means baby will have had a massive growth spurt but deep down I'm sure it won't and hopefully will just be following her curve

homley · 01/08/2019 20:00

Hi all
FTM, we had one round of ICSI after 3 years of trying and I am 30 weeks today!

goodacookie · 01/08/2019 20:23

@PrayingandHoping
Sorry that you are stressed with growth percentiles and the like but I am sure all will be great. When is the next growth scan? Next week? Let us know how it goes x

@homley Hi and welcome. I'm a FTM too, exciting isn't it? Similar story to you, 4 years of trying and fell pregnant on 2nd round of IVF. Amazing feeling isn't it after such a long wait? And 30 weeks - wow, you are going to blink and bubba will be with you!

Positivity86 · 01/08/2019 20:57

@PrayingandHoping hope your next growth scan goes well. It's definitely not an exact science the measuring lark! I had my bump measured today at my 28 week appointment and I'm showing a week ahead but the midwife isn't concerned at all.

@homley welcome and congrats! I'm a FTM too and we fell pregnant on our first ivf cycle after 2 years being 'unexplained'. All those injections seem like a distant memory now.
Hope you are getting on ok 😊

PrayingandHoping · 01/08/2019 21:05

Its been really stressful. No idea how things will end up....

Had another growth scan today. Yes baby is still small but growing on her curve so that makes them happy. Next consultant appointment now not for 6 weeks. Although I'll have a standard growth scan in 3 weeks and another fetal heart scan next week.

DaisyMay25 · 01/08/2019 23:39

Hello hello! Glad everyone is doing well!
18+1 here
Found out I'm having a boy
@goodacookie how exciting for you!!

I'm currently off work sick due to my mental health, hopefully will get some treatment soon, I'm not gaining weight either so extra scans towards the end!
They've already discussed that I'll be induced at 39 weeks (that's Christmas Day though so a couple of days after)

@Positivity86 it really is amazing and so exciting now! We didnt have the best start (doctors forgot to send our referral/lots bloods when waiting to hear about our result/etc) all worth it in the end though isn't it. How far along are you?

homley · 02/08/2019 19:33

@goodacookie I suspect time is going to slow down now I am on countdown for finishing work but your right it is going so quickly! How far along are you? It's amazing how slowly it all seems to go at the beginning, frustrating after years of trying for the rest to go so fast that it all becomes a distant memory!

Positivity86 · 02/08/2019 21:05

@homley very much so, it's worth everything we have to go through! I'm 28 weeks (+2). I love being pregnant 😊 When do you finish work?

I had a call from the doctor earlier...apparently my bloods taken yesterday show that I'm anaemic and I need to be put on iron tablets. She said it's very common at this stage and not to worry. I've been eating so well and taking a multi vitamin but I guess that's not enough!

brighteye3986 · 03/08/2019 12:20

Welcome @homley. I'm also a FTM and 26+5 after my first cycle of ICSI after 4 years of TTC. Still can't believe it actually happened.

Ha I'm already on a countdown for work too. Hoping to work up until 2 weeks before I'm due.... I also have 2 weeks holiday booked up next month so hoping I feel ok going back to work after that time off.

@PrayingandHoping hope all goes well with your growth scans. I take everything they say at all appts with a pinch of salt but at least they are closely monitoring you. Fingers crossed they have a little growth spurt and everything goes back on track.

@DaisyMay25 welcome to the boy club! I hope you are ok and looking after yourself. With all the worries to get here, I can only imagine what you are currently going through. You are strong and brave for getting the help and support you need though. Always remember that 😘

@Positivity86
So glad that you are loving being pregnant, i am too :) have you had quite a smooth run so far in terms of morning sickness etc? 5 weeks to go, taking 2 weeks holiday and 2 weeks mat leave. How about you? Just think of it as another vitamin tablet, hopefully they will help if you have been feeling tired?

homley · 03/08/2019 16:30

@brighteye3986 I think it will be nice having 2 weeks off then going back for a short time. I put my holiday onto the start of mat leave and it's been a long slog not having any holidays, a break might be just what you need! Are you going away anywhere?

brighteye3986 · 03/08/2019 17:30

@homley no not going away anywhere. I will be 31/32 weeks by then and don't think I will manage it well. I went away for a long weekend at 21 weeks and that was a struggle. We have planned to sort the nursery out though and just make sure that by the end of the 2 weeks that we are ready for when he decides to arrive. So also going to be getting our bags ready too. If it wasn't for DH having his holiday allocated to him then I would probably be tagging it on to the beginning of maternity leave too.

@brighteye3986 sounds like you will have a lovely time preparing :)

Positivity86 · 04/08/2019 19:15

@homley yes I've had a a smooth pregnancy so far thanks, although I did feel a bit icky in the first few weeks and went off quite a lot of food...I'm definitely making up for that now though 🙈
How about you?
I think the iron tablets will help as I have been feeling tired, although I put it down to just a standard pregnancy symptom!
I finish work at the end of August as I have a lot of holiday to use up. I feel these next few weeks will go very quickly for us all!!! 😊 x

homley · 04/08/2019 19:52

@Positivity86 I was exactly the same, the only thing that got me through a rough few weeks was dry crackers. Oo not long to go now until you finish work! Exciting times :)

Positivity86 · 05/08/2019 20:25

@homley oh the dry crackers, don't miss those!! Can't wait to finish work now 😊

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

brighteye3986 · 05/08/2019 20:56

So got my results from my GTT today to find out I've got gestational diabetes. Off to the hospital on Friday to find out more... will mean more scans I believe to ensure he isn't growing too big too quickly. Possibly will be induced early too... hopefully will find out a little more tomorrow at my midwife appointment.

@brighteye3986 how did your midwife appointment go?
