A very popular scan day!

@Twiglet2353 congratulations on your happy scan, and how lovely to be nearly drug free!

@brighteye3986 I bet you can't wait to find out gender! Bubbles popping is exactly how I would describe the movements 😊 Mine started at 18 weeks and are getting stronger every day so now hubby can feel them too x

brighteye3986 · 30/05/2019 21:41

@Positivity86 today was the first day of feeling them. An extra birthday present I wasn't expecting. I'm 17+3 so would be about the right time!

As it is my birthday today and I went for a private scan they gave me lots of freebies too! Definitely had a good day!

@brighteye3986 happy birthday! Glad you had a lovely scan for it! What are you doing for your gender reveal?

brighteye3986 · 30/05/2019 21:45

Thanks @DaisyMay25

We are having a BBQ with family and a few friends. My friend is the only one who knows what baby is and we are having helium balloons which will be weighted and I'm hoping to keep after to put in their keepsake box.

@brighteye3986 happy birthday! A lovely present 😊

womaninkent · 01/06/2019 17:50

Great news @brighteye3986. I would definitely say bubbles are baby movements-they don’t feel like anything else. Enjoy your gender reveal.

DaisyMay25 · 09/06/2019 10:08

@brighteye3986 enjoy your gender reveal today!! Let's us know the result! 💙💝

brighteye3986 · 09/06/2019 11:58

Thanks @DaisyMay25 I will post the results later xx

Hi All,

Excited to hear results of the gender reveal today @brighteye3986 and happy belated birthday.

Lovely to read you have all had wonderful scans and ultrasounds!

We are just back from a week's holiday and counting down the hours until this Tuesday's scan at 9 weeks + 4 days...Praying all is well with our trio. Holiday was helpful to digest the news, dispel the shock and start to get excited for real!

brighteye3986 · 09/06/2019 16:56

So it's official.... we are having a boy!!! 💙💙💙

Can I join? I'm 8 weeks pregnant after ivf. I already have a little boy who is 4. Feeling nauseous all the time. Still can't quite believe it. X

DaisyMay25 · 09/06/2019 17:46

@brighteye3986 congratulations!! How exciting!!

@goodacookie how're you doing? I'm only having one and I feel horrendous!

@LeanneMFord welcome 😊

brighteye3986 · 09/06/2019 18:04

Thanks @DaisyMay25 I was sure it was going to be a girl but DH was adamant it would be a boy! We were both happy either way... I'm just a little shocked! So glad I can go and buy some outfits now though....

Congratulations @brighteye3986! It's lovely knowing isn't it 😊

brighteye3986 · 09/06/2019 18:43

Thanks @Positivity86 it's so nice knowing! My poor friend has known since the 30th May and has had to keep it quiet until today!

@brighteye3986 congratulations, what lovely news.
@leannemford congratulations and welcome.

goodacookie · 10/06/2019 09:16

@brighteye3986 Congratulations, so amazing! Years ago, back when we dreamed of conceiving, my DH and I argued about knowing the gender. I didn't want to know and he absolutely did. With our recent news it has totally cleared up the argument in that we are desperate to know genders to best prepare Smile
You have a good friend there by the way, I would have struggled to keep that news from you since 30th May!

@leannemford Congratulations too! Sorry you feel nauseous constantly, that must be tough especially with a toddler in tow.

@Positivity
@DaisyMay25 I am actually doing ok thanks, slight nausea at times but crushing tiredness. Are you really suffering from morning sickness too?
I was actually concerned about how little I was having until I spoke to a fetal medicine midwife friend of mine who reassured me that everyone is very different and despite common conceptions that multiple pregnancies equate to double/triple the sickness, that often is not the case.
@NoMoreCupcakesOrCocktails How are you feeling with your twins hun?

@Positivity86 Hope your husband is loving sharing the feelings of movements with you. I can't wait for that stage Smile

goodacookie · 10/06/2019 09:17

@NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sorry mis-remembered your handle! How are you feeling with twins?

LeanneMFord · 11/06/2019 12:15

Thanks. I no it's all part of being pregnant but it's just so tiring feeling like this all the time. How's everyone else doing? X

PrayingandHoping · 13/06/2019 15:37

Had my consultant appointment today (now 19 weeks). Really good. I'm going to be under shared care with them and midwife but if I want my labour midwife led as it stands that will be fine. Have extra scans and consultant appointments booked at 28, 32 and 36 weeks which is standard for all ivf pregnancies he said.

Then he offered for a listen or babies heartbeat which was fab and much clearer than my 16 week midwife (when baby wouldn't play ball lol!).

20 week scan is a week Monday. V excited now 😁😁

DaisyMay25 · 13/06/2019 16:34

@PrayingandHoping very exciting for you!!

I need to make notes of stuff to ask my midwife at my next appointment. I just want to know how they deal with IVF pregnancies differently, I feel like I'm not in the know at all.

PrayingandHoping · 13/06/2019 16:43

@DaisyMay25 I know! The consultant kept asking if we had questions. We could think of a couple that was it!!
Lol.

I think every area deals with ivf pregnancies differently. My consultant said that as I'm considered young by ivf standards (36 lol) it prob isn't necessary but they lump all ivf pregnancies together. There are some small studies that show ivf pregnancies are higher risk apparently, but they are v small studies, but because of them my area treats us this way.

They also said they don't let ivf pregnancies go over 41 weeks but if I want to be induced at any time from 40 weeks I only have to ask. Was also offered c section if I want one, I only have to ask (don't have any plans for that at the moment)

brighteye3986 · 13/06/2019 16:45

@PrayingandHoping that's great news. I was discharged from the consultant so am just midwife led now although still believe I'm classed as high risk- this is a question I need to ask my midwife at my next appt. I'm in awe of everyone with their scan dates. I have to wait until I'm 22+2- currently 19+3....

@DaisyMay25 I have a list of questions for my midwife for my next appt. I will be 24 weeks when I see her- she is on holiday when I will be 25 weeks!

Hi everyone, have been off mumsnet for a few weeks as sadly one of my twins heartbeats stopped at 10 weeks. I had another big bleed which is why I had a scan. It's been a worrying few weeks. I have had my 12 weeks scan today and the other baby is doing well which is such a relief. I'm still feeling a bit fragile and anxious but am trying to enjoy this moment at least.

I've got a DS who was also IVF, the area I'm in don't give consultant care for IVF so I just had the routine midwife care for him. I will be seeing a consultant this time but it will be due to the twin issues and also having had a previous c section.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well Smile

brighteye3986 · 13/06/2019 19:11

@NoCupcakesOrCocktails I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how hard and worrying this is for you. Make sure you are getting enough rest and looking after yourself 😘
