Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Yes I’m thinking it would be reassuring

MUNIRA12

What was the date of the first day of your last period? Mine was 7th December so it makes me 3 weeks+5. That’s how they work it out.

Who you have to see will depend on your area. I have a community midwife at my doctor’s surgery so I rang to make an appointment today with her. I didn’t need to go through the GP. She doesn’t need to see me until about 8 weeks so I have made an appointment for then.

This is my second pregnancy and I also don’t really feel pregnant apart from being really tired and bloated. I have had a few waves of nausea but nothing like my last pregnancy yet. I felt really sick (but was never actually sick) for the first 3 months of my last pregnancy. I don’t remember how far along I was when the symptoms started because it was unplanned so I wasn’t on the look out for them.

Karigan195 · 02/01/2019 10:21

I think it’s different for everyone. Last time I was pregnant I just booked to see the midwife. I tried to do that today and got told I have to see the dr first.

I’m 5+3 today. I do feel pregnant. I look fat despite actually having lost half a kg, my boobs are trying to escape my bra and hurt like only pregnant women would believe and I’m so tired it’s ridiculous. Yet still praying so hard that my little bean sticks 😁

MUNIRA12 · 02/01/2019 11:41

IV used the calculator and says I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I don't even look pregnant or not got any symptoms hence why I didn't realise I was pregnant sooner. 8 days after my period was to start I took a pregnancy test which was 2 days ago. I'll just try and wait patiently to hear back from the hospital. Im just curious as to how many weeks pregnant I am

Laurad04 · 02/01/2019 11:56

Hi all, I've just found out I'm pregnant with out 2nd baby. We are happy but was still a shock to the system.... I've been drinking 9ver Christmas so feel awful but obviously could not be helped as i did not know.. guessing I'm around 4 weeks as I had a normal cycle last month... feels like only yesterday I was posting on here with my 1st pregnancy ... congrats to everyone :-) xxx

tinatsarina · 02/01/2019 12:28

Got my bfp this morning doing another test tonight to see as it was an internet cheapie. Due September 11 according to app. Haven't made any appointments yet

Whisky2014 · 02/01/2019 12:32

Got my scan at 2. Excited and nervous at the same time. Ill let you know how I get on

Karigan195 · 02/01/2019 12:34

Is anyone else having a scan soon? I thought it was too early and the fetal pole etc might not show this early on. Was thinking to have one around 8 weeks.

Karigan195 · 02/01/2019 12:35

Hope it all goes well Whiskey :)

MUNIRA12 · 02/01/2019 12:46

Good luck and I hope your scan goes well :)

Teddie1 · 02/01/2019 12:52

@Whisky2014 good luck! Hope it all goes well!

And @Karigan195 defo going to book an early scan, going to wait until next week and maybe book for 7-8 weeks x

Hi everyone,

I had my first positive pregnancy test on 17/12/18 and I have been testing ever since as I am so anxious about something going wrong, I have no symptoms really and my clear blue test has stayed at 2-3 weeks from 24/12 to 01/01 I am so concerned is this all ok am I just over thinking and worrying? Just looking for some re assurance as I’m trying to be so excited about this but the thought of anything bad happening is just taking over! Xx

Whisky2014 · 02/01/2019 14:45

So scan showed a sad and a yolk sad. She showed me a tiny flack which she says could be a possible person in there but she reckons I'm only 5 to 6 weeks when i thought i was 7 :s the notes says theeas a possible small fetal pole measuring 0.2mm!
So anyhow I'm glad it's confirmed its in my womb but a but sad I'm earlier than I thought. I was hoping to see a heartbeat but no :( go back in 2 weeks

Whisky2014 · 02/01/2019 16:06

Sac*

W0MANlikeME · 02/01/2019 16:23

Sperm and egg can both live for an amount of days which i cant remember....something to do with that maybe

Teddie1 · 02/01/2019 16:26

I would say you are 6 weeks and 1 day Whiskey, you got AF exactly 1 week before me and im 5+1. Thats if you count from the 1st day of your LMP. Thats good because you dont see a heart beat until after after 5.5 weeks at the earliest (I think). Fingers crossed for you for 2 weeks time.
Ive got my early scan booked for the 21st, ill be 7(+6) by that point and really hoping to see something!

Dont worry Malteaser I think being anxious is normal - Im exactly the same which is why ive booked and early private scan. Ive got it in my head im not producing enough hormones (which is why i dont "feel" pregnant) and therefore everything is going to go wrong. No one tells you these first weeks are not as lovely as you would expect!

Whisky2014 · 02/01/2019 16:37

It does say 6+1 on the ultrasound photo just wondering why she wrote 5 to 6 weeks on my notes. Also thought it would be bigger? See the markers at the bottom of this...that's apparently it. I thought it would be a little bugger if heartbeats can be seen from 5 weeks?

Hi all,
I found out on New Year's Day they were expecting our first baby in September 2018. I think I'm around 3 weeks pregnant. I took 9 tests to be on the safe side!! I'm so excited and daunted at the same time. Parents are over the moon and I just wish we could share the news elsewhere. Nice to have a forum like this.
I still don't quite believe it's real!
Looking forward to sharing my journey with you all.
Charlotte x

Teddie1 · 02/01/2019 16:53

I think from 5 weeks is the earliest but it can take up to 9 weeks to see a heartbeat is some people (thanks google!). I think she wrote 5-6 weeks because thats the age it is from its size, which actually fits in with your LMP. But i think i would be the same as you and wanting to see a heartbeat/it to be a little bigger. But just because it isnt doesnt mean it wont be perfect in 2 weeks time :)) dont be disheartened! x

Hi all!

I got my bfp this morning and am still so shocked but getting excited!

We were going to start actively TTC in March so it’s a little earlier than expected but we’re delighted anyway! Bit of a shock since my cycle’s been way out of kilter for months and today is CD 58 for me. I actually have a scheduled doctors appointment to discuss how to get my cycle back on track in time to TTC!!! Jumped the gun there a little.... Blush

Congrats all and here’s to a H&H 9 months all round Flowers

YellowDaffodils86 · 02/01/2019 17:11

Hi everyone
Can i join you?
I am 5w and due early September.
I found out 28/12 with a nice strong positive. sadly i had an early miscarriage at 6.4 in March, so very happy with this pregnancy but also very anxious of what may happen too.
I dont have many symptoms and feel my boobs are less sore than when i got my bfp.
I really dont feel pregnant and finding it hard to not feel like im making it up.
Would be nice to share this time with others that are in a similar boat, especially as we havnt told anyone yet.
Smile

sa11zza · 02/01/2019 17:52

Hi Everyone,
I got my BFP on 30/12 which would have been the first day of my missed period! I've now done 4 tests and all positive! I think I should be somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks!
I'm full of the cold but in general feel quite good apart from a few cramps. This was the 2nd month trying for me and my husband I feel overwhelmed by the news! I have told my best friend who is a mummy of 2 so she knows how much the secret needs to be kept but we were all out Hogmanay and it was too hard to hide the fact I couldn't drink.. unfortunately someone that knows me so well and my everyone wouldn't believe I don't fancy it tonight or I'm on antibiotics. Not sure should we tell our parents yet or not.. we will maybe wait a few weeks and hopefully everything goes well! :) congratulations to everyone else on this thread!

NewYearBaby2019 · 02/01/2019 18:03

Hi Ladies!

Hope you won't mind me joining you also! Let me start by saying congratulations to you all! :)

I actually found out on New Years Day! What a way to start the year off aye?!

I was on a diet plan to help me fall pregnant and the idea was to start trying for a baby after I'd lost around 5 stone but low and behold 3 stone down and we found out we're pregnant!

Timing isn't the best as my partner has been off work for health reasons and is still waiting for surgery on his spine, so I know it's going to be very tight financially but trying not to stress too much and reminding myself it's a happy occasion and it's ok to be happy and excited about it!

sa11zza · 02/01/2019 18:43

Congratulations @NewYearBaby2019 !

It really is exciting news to start the new year! How have you been feeling!? I am always a believer that everything happens for a reason

bananamonkey · 02/01/2019 19:31

Hello can I also join even though I’m due August (couldn’t find an August thread!)?

Got my bfp on 17 Dec so I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow I think (although my last period was weird). I already have a 2 year old and wasn’t quite expecting it to happen so quickly as it didn’t last time!

Am feeling tired and a bleurgh but also had a sickness bug last week so not sure if I’m still feeling crap from that. Didn’t have any nausea/sickness last time so I’m hoping to be lucky again. With work, an ill toddler, Christmas, then being ill myself I haven’t had much chance to think about it all yet and am in total denial although booked my MW appt today so now it seems real.

Congratulations to you all.
