Beckle - dead impressed and pleased for you that they found the hb. That's brilliant!

Uki - yes it is a maternity label. Quite pricey to my mind, but they offer 10% discount to MN members.

this is the dress

Hello to a (hopefully) bronzed MrsMcJnr!

firstar have you tried the 3/4's on I bet their comfortable, and probably look very good on

Hello. Still on cloud pink here. I think I only realise now that I WILL HAVE A BABY! Life is completely changed. I think I have have been depressed in the last months without realising, because it's feels like a heavy weight is lifted from me.
My apologies to those that are still on the 12WW for my insensitivity but I am just overwhelmed by my feelings right now. (Did I just recently post that I hadn't noticed a change in my emotions?).

Beckle -- great news. I am glad they found the HB without problems! I like your list of names very much. For use a constraint is that
has to be pronouncable in English and German at least and if in French even better! So I think our best bet is traditional names. I like especially Jake (Jakob) and Leo. Another favorite of mine is Ben.

Basil the days before the scans are difficult. I agree the scans are there to reassure us, but they also cause a lot of anxiety. Let use know how you feel we all understand better than you think!

Firstar Don't worry about the weight and water I am sure they feel fall from you after birth. I really admire your attitude about the c-section. You seem very much in control of everything.

Uki -- I love your name list. I quite like Levi: Levi Alister would be my favorite.

EJT I love Mairwen. Don't worry about bump as firststar sais they grow in spurts and a lot has to do with water.

Mumpbump what a fab dress. Would look horrible on me (am to small and ,aeh, stout) but I recall you are tall and it must look great on you. The name thing is difficult, especially of Dh has different preferences. We haven't even agreed on the last name ...

MrsMcJ -- ola to Spain! So glad to hear that everything is well! I want a vacation, too...

VV and Bluebell --> and hang in there...

Mumpbump - beautiful dress!
MrsMc - so glad to hear from you! Glad all is going well and hope you are enjoying Spain!
Firststar - people do definitely assume you want a different sex child to the one/s you already have. When I was having DS2 people kept saying things like 'hoping for a girl?'. Actually I was hoping for another boy at the time! I would like a girl this time but will not be worried if it is another boy as long as he is healthy! A girl would be the icing on the cake but I would be more than happy with just the cake! I too carry lots of water when pg, particularly on my legs! When I was having DS1 I put on well over 4 stone and with DS2 2 1/2 but I think most of it was water as it all came off fairly quickly (although trust me, I was not a 'ping straight back into shape' kind of girl). I found a few days after they were born the water suddenly dispersed and my trousers were loose again on my thighs! Didn't loose the last 1/2 stone until stopped breastfeeding but DH prefers me with a bit of weight on anyway!
Glimmer, so glad you are feeling better, am sure no-one on the 12WW will mind at all - you have been through what they are now going through and I know that you guys who were past 3 months gave me loads of hope during that time. I am mightily relieved that they found a HB today as that means baby has survived past my 'danger' points and I now feel I can start to bond with it and look forward! I do love traditional names, we liked Ben for DS2 but with a one sylable surname beginning with B it just didn't go - so we chose Jake instead!
Ejt, I also like Mairwen, it is a really pretty name (as is Mary). You've given me an idea for a girl's name too - Heather! I really like flowery type names (as a child I was desparate to be called Primrose )but DH is not keen on Poppy, Daisy, Rose etc, and I think Holly is too obvious a name for a December baby!

daisyboo · 28/06/2007 19:17

Just a quick hello from the other side....

Firststar...I'll be keeoing an eye out for your birth announcement...not long now, how exciting....you'll be joining the ranks of knocker checkers again for the last few weeks, LOL

Glimmer....congrats on the scan, it certainly became real for me after 20 weeks.

Beckle...glad you heard the heartbeat...you must be starting to feel rather more relaxed about it all now!

Lissie/Basil/Bluebell....keeping it all crossed for you. These early days can be really fraught, but try to stay positive.

Hi to everyone else and hope its all going well.

Gotta dash, DD is screaming for her supper (DH is changing her). Had a great few weeks babymooning, but he goes back to work on Monday so it could all get a bit hectic next week as he'll be away Mon-Thursday!

Good Luck to all.

lol, Daisy xxxx

daisyboo · 28/06/2007 19:18

ROFL...I mean knicker checkers...at least till after the birth then it will be knocker checkers

ejt1764 · 29/06/2007 10:46

Morning all,
Just when I thought it couldn?t get any more crappy being pg, I woke up in the middle of the night with the most horrendous heartburn ? advice needed from you ladies on how to get rid of it!

Mumpbump ? your dress sounds and looks fab! I?d love to do something like that, but I just don?t do skirts? well, not unless they?re calf-length and I?m wearing kne-high boots with them! At work, the kids all coment if I wear a skirt!

Glimmer ? it?s lovely to hear you sounding so positive ?

MrsMc ? hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Spain!

Firststar ? it will all go beautifully for you ?

Beckle ? if madam bean was a December baby, we were going to call her Celyn ? which is the Welsh for Holly ?.Heather is also a nice name ? but my MIL makes me mad!

Daisyboo ? soooooo glad to see it?s not just my who mis-types knicker checkers!!

Want to watch BB on the catch-up service ? but the tv isn?t playing ? may name is ejt and I have a BB habit ?.

Right, going to do battle with the tv so that I can get my fix of BB! Have a lovely weekend everybody!

Have updated the list with my girlie ?

Hi Ya All

Glimmer- awwwww I'm so happy your happy
after the excitement your next stage maybe panic, just kidding -enjoy enjoying your pregnancy.

Firstar- you sound like you are doing well to be still at work with feet that swollen. You'll enjoy putting them up soon, and yes people do expect/ make opinions about what gender you should have that's why i haven't told anyone in RL I'm surrounded by them. It has been a little hard for me as i think they won't be excited or will be dissapointed when i do have the baby

Etj-
I've never heard the name Mairwen, but then unfortunately
I haven't been to Wales. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it? But I'm sure it sounds beautiful with your accent.

mump- I agree it's a very flaterring dress for a blooming lady , have to admit i was a little shocked at the price when converted to our mangy Australian dollars, but i just got fined for travelling in a bus lane unintentionally and it's much more than that Wish i had your dress instead!!!!!

Went to dr. today and baby measuring spot on average and BP is holding out so all good here.

ejt, the consensus on the june AN thread for heartburn was mint flavoured magnums

I used maalox tablets with DS and gaviscon advance with DD....the maalox was more effective!

Off to the doctors later as have a little rash on my back, its been there about a week and is intensly itchy! I have also found that my legs are really really itchy especially at night and sometimes my scalp too. MW yesterday said to get it checked out so I thought I'd better although I do feel a bit silly going to docs cos I am itchy!

Mumpbump · 29/06/2007 13:01

Afternoon all! Just popping in quickly to say hello as my train took 1 hour (usually takes 35 minutes) this morning so am feeling a little under pressure work-wise...

Uki - I have bought it second-hand so saved a little bit. It's more than I would usually spend on a dress for when I'm not pg, let alone on a maternity dress, but dh has invited loads of his work colleagues so I'm feeling a little under pressure to scrub up!

Hi everybody -- Good to see that everybody seems well! I need some advice about how to best tell a friend of mine that I am pg. She has been TTC for years now and I want to be sensitive, but know it will hit her hard in any case. We only see each others 2-3 years per year.

Have been given Gaviscon by the pharmacist ... it tastes disgusting, but I don't feel quite as much like my oesophagus is about to explode!

daisy - like the idea of minty magnums!! yum yum - do you think a Mint Aero would have the same effect?

Mumpbump · 29/06/2007 16:05

EJT - I think the answer might be to experiment with a variety of mint flavoured, dairy products which might or might not include chocolate. It is very difficult to say what would be the best for any individual...

ejt1764 · 29/06/2007 17:08

and all in the name of research, mumpbump - I like it! ...
