Thought I'd start this in honour of Purple's effort so far, hope you don't mind Purple I liked this title best.

Welcome to our shiny new thread

hi all. had backache the last few days but its gone now so feeling a bit more confident with each day. told dhs family yesterday and they were cautiously over the moon. still got so long to go tho!

fettleandminifettle · 24/06/2007 12:14

I'd heard a rumour you were pg again Lissie - so pleased for you! Keeping everything doubly-crossed and lots of positive thinking for you!!! How far along are you now? I had quite bad backache as well at times in the early stages of this pg too, so don't think it is always necessarily a bad sign! Look after yourself and take everything easy (as if you won't be already!).

UKi - poor you with an ill dS and DH - DS's are copable with, but you're right it amazes me at the constant energy, despite being ill. My DD almost goes mad after giving her calpol!!! Try and keep it to nighttime use only, if at all possible!!! Seem to give her some extra energy from nowhere and it's sugar and artificial additives free!! Hope they are better soon - nothing worse than an ill DH (well at least mine always seems to be more ill than anyone has ever been before!!) Bless him! Take care and look after yourself as well.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend -Sorry suddenly dashed off last night! DD's head seems ok, but still sore this morning apparently, but no bump - quick ice pack obviously did the trick! - but didn't stop her having lots of energy swimming this morning. I'm completely shattered - DH normally takes her on a Sunday morning so i can have a lie-in, but he's away for 2 weeks.

Have lovely Sunday's everyone!

lol

PurpleLostPrincess · 24/06/2007 19:22

Hello all! Yes, I did pop off for a bit of nookie that night and then couldn't sleep so I came back downstairs leaving DH to snore to his hearts content lol! We've always been really active but just lately we can't get enough of each other! I wouldn't mind but DS (13) walked in on us last Sunday morning - a whole other story

Went to my friends last night and got well and truly waited on which was really lovely. I do worry that I'm boring them talking about babies and pg all the time but they insist they don't mind bless them!

Just had my SIL and family round for Sunday dinner with her 4 month old baby who is gorgeous!!! He is laughing and giggling now and is such a happy baby! Also, my bf is due today so I'll get my fix of cuddles before this one comes along - yay! [broodiness icon] Bless her, she's on the raspberry leaf tea and eating curries but nothing's happening yet - I'll keep you updated I'm 'Auntie Dottie' to all my nephews and nieces and can't wait for this one to arrive (we reckon we're really sisters who were separated at birth!).

lissie, hope the backache goes away soon but at the same time it can be comforting to know that things aren't completely 'normal' iykwim!?!

uki - I'm still not sleeping and was in agony last night . Hope you managed to get some sleep? [snoozing icon!]

fettle - glad there wasn't a bump!

My, the list is really growing which is fantastic!

I'm off to wash uniform and bath DD ready for school tomorrow - one last week at work then I'll be FREE, FREE, FREE!!!!!

((((hugs))))

fettleandminifettle · 24/06/2007 19:25

Lucky you, PLP - I'm working until end of August!!!!! Ages to go!!!!

Hope you have a good last week!

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:28

can anyone help me? I'm having a little panic!

ejt1764 · 24/06/2007 19:32

Enjoy your last week purple - very impressed at you and dh managing it ... dh and I are having problems getting there - there are some positional problems ... given that I have spd (can't open knees), coccyx pain (can't do anything involving sitting, and can't lie on back (bump too big), we are somewhat limited in our choices ....

PurpleLostPrincess · 24/06/2007 19:50

I have to say we don't currently adopt the [clears throat] 'usual' positions or even go the whole hog ifkwim... Not sure how I should explain this one but basically we do other things and sometimes even use a 'little help' from a battery operated item ! We've always been very 'succesful' in that department but these hormones are making orgasms absolutely amaayyzzzing at the moment! I'm making the best of it as DH goes through phases of fancying it or not...

I'm dreading this week at work and don't know how I'm going to get through it tbh - they've got me doing things I don't usually do and I've got to do them as well as finish things off and take all my stuff home. I'm having a meeting with my Directors about maternity etc. as its all been a nightmare. Just gotta keep in mind that it'll all be over after this week - phew!

Bella, I think I've replied on your other thread but thinking of you lots xx

PurpleLostPrincess · 24/06/2007 19:52

ejt - hope you manage to find a way of getting around the obstacles you've got at the moment so you can enjoy being close with DH (oh, and so you can enjoy some brilliant orgasms!)

ejt1764 · 24/06/2007 19:58

hmmmm - will have to convince dh of the fantasticness (is that a word?) oif battery-operated aids ... - I am fortunate that dh finds my pg body sexy ... we just have problems working out the ideal ways to go about it!

Bouncingturtle · 24/06/2007 20:28

Bella - have also replied to your other thread.

Had a nice day visiting ils with DH and DSS, my 2 nieces were there, Eve who is 4 going on 42 (when I told her about baby in my tummy she said "Oh not another cousin I have 3 already!!") and Ellie who is nearly 7 months, she is gorgeous, really smiley except she kept crying every time she looked at DH! We think it's because he looks like her Daddy then she realises he isn't! They look rather alike, when BIL & SIL got married, DH was Best Man he and his DB wore identical suits and people kept going up to my DH congratulating him thinking he was his DB!

mad4girls · 24/06/2007 21:16

ejt1764 · 24/06/2007 22:05

mad4girls .... mind you, it's good to know it's not just me!

I have the added problem of suffering a latex allergy - so have been a bit wary of buying any 'aids'!!

Right, must go now ...

Uki · 25/06/2007 01:02

Goodness me I go to sleep for the night and look where the conversation goes.

I think you need to be more sensitive to some of us who arn't getting any due to sick dh's or I know some of us are refraining due to fear of hurting bubs. As if nine months without cheese ,wine and smoked salmon weren't long enough??????????????????????????????

Little sick ds has just slept till almost 10am so that makes up for some of the lost sleep we all had last night. It's a miracle I'm not sick yet, long may it reign.

Beckle- lovely to hear you are up to the telling everyone stage. CONGRAT'S

Bouncing- glad to hear the ear isn't painful, i used to get a tun of ear infections and my they were painful, I now have damaged hearing and couldn't manage to dive anymore, although I prefer snorkelling so don't mind too much.

time4tea · 25/06/2007 08:21

hello all, I'm popping back in to give a wave, although its a long 4 months since I bowed out...

glad to see some of you are getting your groove on - given that my enormous bf'ing norks are so painful, I can only dream....

excited to see that Firstar and Uki don't have long to go

wishing all the brave and wonderful ladies and beautiful beans on this thread all the luck in the world

Hi ladies - thought you might be interested in my latest.

Was just congratulating myself at reaching 7 weeks on Thurs (two days longer than last pg lasted) when I got some spotting. Extremely light but I flipped out, convinced it was all over. Rang EPU whimpering and got appointment for following morning. They told me to relax and go home and rest (What else can you say to mad hormonal woman?)

So bascially ended up telling me boss I was having an m/c, she had no idea I was pg and wasn't planning on telling her till 12 week scan etc. But wasn't feeling alert enought to concoct another reason for needing to go home.

Next morning, went to EPU for 9.30 appt and after a horrendous 15 second pause they did indeed find a sac in the right place and although they coudln't hear the heart beat, we could see it flickering on screen which is still a good sign apparently. But they couldn't date it accurately yet and I have to go back on 4th July.

So although still early days, at the minute things look OK. And spotting stopped almost as soon as it began so fingers crossed.

Just as I am trying to feel all zen and relaxed I find out my DS has chickenpox and as I haven't had it I have to go asap for blood tests to see if I'm immune. So had to tell boss this morning that a) erm actually am still pg at moment and b) can she cover my classes this afternoon

Boy am I popular

HUGS TO EVERYONE xx

Uki · 25/06/2007 12:40

Basil -great news about bubs, not so great about ds and chicken pox though. hopefully your fine though.

Purple- Hope your scan goes well

Bluebell- glad to hear, your back to normal sickness level, it's hard not to worry isn't it?

Well my day is over and i'm off to bed again. still waiting for dh to get better we haven't even slept in the same bed for almost a week

Just thought I would ask.. anyone getting really intense emotions at the moment, I don't know whether it is a mix of anxiety or just sheer madness, but my dh has had the brunt of me all weekend... I think I may be nesting as the need to get the house decortaed NOW, is overwhelming... to the point we changed the bedroom round 3 times on Sunday afternoon, and ended up crying on the floor because it didn't look right.. normal??

lissie · 25/06/2007 18:44

lol bluebell i ended up sobbing thru 28 days later last night. WTF??

ejt1764 · 25/06/2007 21:17

I cry at anything at the moment .... I broke this morning when I went to see the midwife when she mentioned the CL unit ....

fettleandminifettle · 25/06/2007 21:26

worst bit about pg, I find, the uncontrollable emotions! I was inconsolable on Friday evening, just because my parents were not going to be home when I got home!! I'm 32 FFS! I'm a mother! I'm used to my DH being away, but for some reason I just couldn't cope without my Mummy and cried and cried!!!

Awful - much happier today after a lovely restful weekend - definitely related to tiredness!
