@Squeakybubbles26 I’m 15+5 now. I feel exactly the same. I’m struggling to sleep already which is having a big effect. Everyone just feels the need to remind me that I still have months to go which is very helpful when I’m already feeling fed up. I definitely have reached the “glowing” stage yet 😩

Squeakybubbles26 · 04/02/2019 19:12

@BeckyButterfly same here, hard to get comfy at night and feel I'm constantly moaning! Is this your first pregnancy? I told my partner earlier and he told me to stop whinging lol Hmm it's like it's not an excuse I generally feel crap! Lol x

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 19:23

@Squeakybubbles26 not my first pregnancy but I miscarried with my last when I was only 9 weeks. So this is my first successful (fingers crossed) pregnancy. Is it your first one?
I’m going to invest in one of those huge pregnancy pillows to see if that helps.
I don’t think people accept it as a reason to feel crap. Someone said to me at work the other day; “you would think you were the only person to ever have been pregnant”. I thought it was a little rude! I’m not expecting sympathy but just some empathy would be nice at times.

Jummynbean · 04/02/2019 19:42

@BeckyButterfly
That's a shame, but it gives you a nice little thing to look forward to after your 20week scan!

@Squeakybubbles26 I know what you mean about feeling sluggish. I'm not tired or sleepy anymoe fortunatley, but really CBA to do anything. Heartburn is getting me now! Do you feel sad and down in general or just recently? I find my mood changes hourly😂 if you do feel down, here is the place to vent, were all on your side x

@rosyedith I'm feeling great thanks I'm 16+6 ish (NHS date is different to my app date haha). Hope you manage to find some emotional stability soon, must be beautiful having a Doppler!

To those of you in the 15 week zone, I honestly hope that you will get a nice little uplift at week 16 like I have. We need these little mile stones to remind us to enjoy the pregnancy. For that last few weeks I've been so moody and impatient. But now I have a picture a sound and a little belly. Going to enjoy this while I can and I hope you can all enjoy it with me xxxx

Squeakybubbles26 · 04/02/2019 19:43

@BeckyButterfly aw I'm sorry for your previous loss. This is my 2nd pregnancy, I've got a 2 year old DD (who keeps me busy as it is!) with her pregnancy of all felt a lot smoother but I prob could relax a lot more, nap and chill etc and not pick my battles!!! That's really rude what that person said, I hate people thad judge they don't know what your feeling there and then! My god earlier I felt like bloody crying in a corner and now I'm fine and buzzing! Blinking hormones!! However I do think talking about it has helped, so big thanks!x

Squeakybubbles26 · 04/02/2019 19:46

@Jummynbean that's such a lovely last comment and helps especially with my current ever changing mood! And yes the mood changes hourly, or so it feels! Sometimes I wanna mope and cry and others bursting with laughter and all happy! I know it's normal but it's nice to hear others have or feel the same!

Loujonesy · 04/02/2019 20:00

Hi all, been absent from the chat for a week or so, how is everyone doing? I'm halfway through moving so rather stressed. Feeling a little bit down, is it normal? DH is being a star doing most of the move etc and being great with our 3 DS. Having trouble sleeping too even with my huge and I mean huge maternity pillow. I'm 5+1 and bump seems massive. Should I feel baby moving yet? Can't remember that far back with my boys.

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 20:17

@Squeakybubbles26 I’m pleased you are feeling better 😊 sometimes just talking about how you feel helps. It’s all part of being pregnant, such a rollercoaster!

@Jummynbean I have a scan on Wednesday so fingers crossed all goes well, I might start to feel like I can enjoy it a bit more. I am just quite anxious still so find it hard to be too emotionally attached.

GabbyGal · 04/02/2019 20:46

@squeakybubbles26 I’m also sluggish and tired most of the time. Wasn’t too bad over the weekend but nausea is back again today and just want to sit and do nothing.

@Jummynbean I hope you’re right! 15+2 today and hoping 16 weeks will bring all this energy you’re meant to have in the second trimester because it hasn’t happened yet!

I’ve really realised since being pregnant how much society just normalises/downplays pregnancy and all of the sickness, heartburn, lack of sleep, emotional changes, worry, potential complications, etc. I was probably guilty of it before I experienced it myself. TV and movies make morning sickness and mood swings out to be funny, and it is so far from funny when you’re going through it!

Jummynbean · 04/02/2019 20:57

Squeakybubbles26, any thing to brighten your day ;)

@Loujonesy good luck with the move! I hope you get settled in soon xxx

@BeckyButterfly how exciting about your scan! Be sure to let us know how you get on!

@GabbyGal I wouldn't say that I have more energy because I'm 16 weeks, it's more like I have more energy because I just feel a lot more positive about everything. Not sure how long this wave will last but I'll ride it as long as I can! I think some how my I let my crappy symptoms let me feel crappy emotionally. I find that when happy or distracted, I'm alright. Just don't put pressure on yourself. If your feeling lazy, enjoy being lazy. Soon we won't have a choice😂😂

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 21:00

I will do @Jummynbean 😊

Mayjane5 · 04/02/2019 23:48

@Gabbygal I’m definitely feeling the exhaustion this time around, I’m hoping it will get better next few weeks as I have many things that I want to get done before arrival mainly things around the house

Squeakybubbles26 · 05/02/2019 19:09

It's so mad to think that one day you can feel really down and others positive and fine! And thankfully today has been a good day Smile
How's everyone else feeling today?xx

Loujonesy · 05/02/2019 20:44

@Squeakybubbles26 so tired today. Really feeling the tiredness this time round. 😴😴

Squeakybubbles26 · 05/02/2019 20:49

@Loujonesy have an early night, that usually sorts it for me :) typically I'm wide away tonight though. Have been experiencing being wide awake tho between 2-4 which is bad enough mind!x

BeckyButterfly · 05/02/2019 20:54

I’m really struggling to sleep at the minute. I just can’t get comfortable at all. I’ve always slept on my front or back which I can’t do now. When I sleep on my side, my hips end up really hurting! Only at 15+6, this is going to be a long haul 😂

Jummynbean · 06/02/2019 10:39

Anyone finding it painful to cough and sneeze?

rosyedith · 06/02/2019 12:38

Yes @Jummynbean it feels like stitch when I sneeze!

Feeling really bloated today & tired x

Bunnybaubles · 06/02/2019 13:03

Just had my 16 week midwife appointment. Heard baby's heartbeat 💗 Had a panick cause after telling them I hadn't felt the little flutters for some time they couldn't find a heartbeat! Took 2 of them but they eventually found it 😅

@Squeeckybubbles26 I had horrific heartburn with DS, he was born with the least hair. DD was born with loads of hair but only had mild heartburn with her.

@GabbyGal I used a 12 ft u-shaped pillow in my last pregnancy. DP was amazing and totally didn't mind sleeping with one leg on the floor 😂 Can't use it this time cause I bring my baby into bed when she wakes before I'm ready to get up.

@Jummynbean Yes! I have to brace myself when I cough or sneeze! Have any of you been getting cramp under your bump? Round ligament cramps I think it's called. I'm getting that really bad when I sit too long or try standing after sitting for a while! Another joy of pregnancy Hmm

I'm so excited tho, got a gender scan booked for Subday!! Have any of you found out what you are having? Or planning to?

Porridgeprincess · 06/02/2019 15:06

Hi everyone!! I have not posted in awhile. I can honestly agree with the rollercoaster feeling of being great one day and really down the next. My bump is stating to come out but I just look like I have eaten a big dinner.

My partner is annoying me also, he definitely does not "get" it so I have to explain it to him every now and then. He thinks he is great in theory !

I need to invest in a good pregnancy pillow also, the hip pain from trying to sleep on my sides is grating.

rach2019 · 06/02/2019 15:38

Just had my 16 week appointment! Very exciting to hear the little heartbeat, sounded like a train haha.
I'm hoping my trust will tell me what the sex is, but if not ill book a private one after the 20 week scan.

We had some bad news yesterday that the house we were buying the lady selling pulled out. So phoned in sick and spent all day crying, dont know if it was because i was that upset or if hormones have a part to play in it.
Definitely agree about having ups and downs however seems to be a bit more up since 16 weeks hit, not been sick for nearly a week (touch wood)

Hope everyone else is feeling well

BeckyButterfly · 06/02/2019 15:39

All went well at scan today. 16 weeks exactly and growth looking good. Also, looks like the bean is a she!

Jummynbean · 06/02/2019 19:51

@BeckyButterfly

Ooooo I think you might be the first mommy in here to know the gender of her baby!! Mega excited for you, you must be over the moon! My 20 week scan is on the 28th Feb so fingers crossed we find out then! Does anyone else know baby's gender yet?

HayleyHaystack · 06/02/2019 22:20

Hi Gang 👋🏼 Can’t believe I’ve reached 19 weeks! Next scan is just a week away, nervous about it but I had one a few weeks ago with my NIPT which was a 4D one so I got to see a very odd face Blush Was given the option to find out the sex but declined so staying very much a surprise for as long as poss! Massively turned a corner despite having a throat/chest infection but energy levels have been great, I feel more like me again, and I’ve started a little exercise. Sleeping is awful though and I’ve finally ordered a pillow. Loved reading everyone’s updates x

BeckyButterfly · 07/02/2019 00:00

@Jummynbean the midwife said to get it checked at my 20 week scan just in case because baby was lying in a very awkward position. She printed some pictures off for us as well but they are rubbish! So pleased we got such nice ones at our 12 week, would’ve been gutted with just the ones we got today.
