@Jcq17 Wow! 10 weeks, that's a long time. I thought we are all meant to be seen once a month so she can check your urine and overall how you are?

BeckyButterfly · 31/01/2019 12:12

@Bunnybaubles I don’t see my midwife again until I’m 22 weeks so 7 weeks time. My 16 week appt was a week early though so it should’ve been 6 weeks between appts.

Bunnybaubles · 31/01/2019 12:19

With all 3 of my pregnancies I saw my midwife once a month. Even in the last pregnancy where I was consultant led at hospital and didn't have to see her.

OR maybe they do only see you at certain milestones and because i always have bad baby brain I've never noticed 😂 Its more likely to be that!!!

GabbyGal · 31/01/2019 12:24

@jcq17 will you not be seen at all in those 10 weeks? That seems long! Here we’re seen every 4 weeks alternating between consultant/midwife (depending on chosen scheme) and GP.

BeckyButterfly · 31/01/2019 12:29

I have my 20 week scan in between now and my next midwife appointment which I imagine @jcq17 will also have.
So I had my booking appt at 9 weeks then scan at 13 then MW appt at 15 then scan at 20 and MW again at 22.

jcq17 · 31/01/2019 12:31

Yes I have my 20 week scan and then just midwife at 25 weeks. I'm fit and well and midwife led care so I just assumed that was normal! Haven't got a clue it's my first :)

roobine · 31/01/2019 13:43

@BeckyButterfly I'm the same - I'm 16 weeks today and saw the midwife yesterday. I'd met her once before around 9 weeks. Next midwife appt at 25 weeks and my anomaly scan at 20 weeks. First baby but everything is currently low risk... after 25 weeks I think they ramp it up and will see my every 3 weeks until the end

Georgeofthejungle · 31/01/2019 22:36

Hi guys, just checking in :)

How is everyone?

I had MW today and next appointment is near end of March. Seems to be every 8 weeks for me. I remember the appointments getting closer together as the pregnancy progresses. Like in the last few weeks it’s 1 a week.

At the MW today she listened in and we heard babies heart beat (I’m 16+6) She said it was a faster heart beat. 140-150 bpm so maybe it is a wee girl in there 🤗. I have a front facing placenta and you could hear that too, it was weird.

Was looking through the leaflet fo4 the baby box today. It’s packed with so much stuff! I’m excited to get a nosey. My friend used her box bed in her livingroom. I remember thinking it looked quite robust - for a box! Might get my lb to colour it in so he feels involved :)

I’m addicted to onken yogurts. I’m eating a big pot per day 😮 they are just perfect 😋

Bluejellybaby · 02/02/2019 13:01

Hey everyone , I'm 17 weeks today and really struggling with reflux. It's improved a bit since starting omeprazole but it's not gone and it's so irritating. I'm eating and drinking fine and have stopped being sick since taking omeprazole but it's just draining because it's constantly there . I've cut out all the obvious things, tomatoes, caffeine, chocolate etc but no improvement. Any suggestions or anyone else feeling the same? Xx

GabbyGal · 02/02/2019 13:51

Hi @Bluejellybaby, I feel your pain! I’m taking ranitidine and gaviscon but going to ask for a prescription for Omeprazole instead of the ranitidine. In the meantime I just bought some probiotics in Holland&Barrett today as I saw them recommended for preventing reflux on another post. They were on sale so thought they were worth a try.

Bluejellybaby · 02/02/2019 13:56

@gabbygal you will have to let me know if they make a difference. I had ranitidine but they made me sick and seemed to make it all worse. It's so irritating isn't it. Puts me off eating ! X

Mayjane5 · 03/02/2019 04:32

@Bluejellybaby my god yes I’ve just started with it this past week, tends to be if I eat in the evening, last pregnancy I had to cut out fizzy drinks/spicy food/peppers I think fatty foods set it off too gaviscon worked ok for me so giving it a go at the moment. Hoping it doesn’t get
Worse but it’s started very early for me this time. Hope you get some relief x

Squeakybubbles26 · 03/02/2019 06:54

To everyone who had heartburn in previous pregnancies was the old wives tale true, was your child child born with hair?
My last pregnancy I didn't have much if any heartburn and DD was born with the littlest bit of hair.
This time round already I've had mild heartburn, but I know it's still only early days! Hope your all well!xx

Mayjane5 · 03/02/2019 09:54

@Squeakybubbles26 I had heartburn with my first and she had quite a bit of hair was pretty long, so who knows maybe this one will be very hairy as it’s started earlier 😆

GabbyGal · 03/02/2019 10:00

Anyone using a pregnancy pillow yet? I’m trying to sleep on my side but keep waking up on my back so may be time to get one. Any recommendations?

@Bluejellybaby I would think it’s too early to really tell if the probiotics help, however I took one yesterday plus the ranitidine. I went out for dinner and ate spicy chicken wings and curry, and a couple of hours later I felt something stirring so I took one rennie. That was it for the whole day, usually I’d take gaviscon at least 3-4 times, didn’t even need it going to bed. Fingers crossed it wasn’t just a fluke!

BeckyButterfly · 03/02/2019 11:17

@GabbyGal I’m the same. Trying really hard to sleep on my side but keep waking up on my side so I think I may need a pregnancy pillow soon. They have them on offer on Emma’s Diary. I’m just worried about how much space it’ll take up in my bed! My poor husband is already nearly on the floor 😂

Georgeofthejungle · 03/02/2019 23:16

Confused, why is it not good to sleep on your back? I’m lucky enough I guess and sleep in my side anyway but I do get sore hips sometimes. A little cushion in between my legs helps but it’s always gone by morning x

BeckyButterfly · 03/02/2019 23:34

@Georgeofthejungle from 20 weeks onwards you shouldn’t sleep on your back because the weight of your tummy can trap an artery.

Mayjane5 · 04/02/2019 00:20

Yes you are meant to sleep on left side when pregnant increases blood flow to baby, I also find that heartburn is better if I sleep on side if I sleep on back it’s worse.

Jummynbean · 04/02/2019 13:16

Just had my 16 week appointment this morning! Got to hear little bears heartbeat 💓

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 17:25

@Jummynbean aw that’s nice 😊 I didn’t get to listen in at mine. MW said they don’t do that till 24 weeks.

Squeakybubbles26 · 04/02/2019 17:32

Anyone else feeling so sluggish and eugh like! 15 weeks tomorrow and having the odd nausea but feel like I just wanna lie down and mope all day! I was nothing like this with my first, I was so buzzing and positive with her but this one I just feel quite down :( I know my hormones are all over the place and it's not as if I can relax with a little one but still :( just feel like I need to vent this to others who are feeling pregnant too .. how are your moods?!xx

rosyedith · 04/02/2019 17:34

How's everyone feeling? I'm 16+2. Feeling tired and sluggish. Crying at everything & being a bit mean to OH recently 😂 been using a Doppler to listen to baby's heart beat ❤️

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 17:43

@Squeakybubbles26 I’m quite up and down at the minute. I didn’t feel well at all last week so my mood wasn’t good at all. Feeling a lot better today and have had a bit of energy but who knows if it will last?!
You’re definitely not alone with the way you’re feeling.

Squeakybubbles26 · 04/02/2019 18:10

@rosyedith aw how amazing that you can listen to little beans heart beat!

@BeckyButterfly how far gone are you? Quite glad someone else is feeling like this and it's normal, I feel like I shouldn't feel like this yet but already feel like I've had enough! That's so bad to say.. I know :( x
