For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

Hey!

I'm also 39+5 today with my 3rd. I'm so fed up of being pregnant. Having a sweep on Thursday! Fingers crossed that will get things going.
Like you I've been having BH for weeks and weeks. Was even in hospital at 36 weeks thinking baby was coming!

Every night i wonder if they are going to progress and then nothing happens. I'm so impatient! I hate waiting!

debbiegtj · 25/09/2018 10:22

It’s sooooo frustrating isn’t it?? I’ve actually had 3 sweeps and midwife confirmed 2am Monday morning that I’m in “slow labour” I’ve gone through a whole bottle of clary sage the last month...numerous pineapples...had the OH booked in every other night to help out even though it’s the LAST thing on my mind!! 😂😂😂 My OH laughs at me because I’m begging for my waters to break just so my contractions get stronger! 😂😂

Oh wow! My midwife won't give me a sweep till 40 weeks.
OH also thinks his luck is in too!
That's great that you are in slow labour. Hopefully means you will have a nice and quick active labour!
I am hoping for a home birth. I had the birthing pool delivered 3 weeks ago and it is sat in a box in the corner of the room taunting me!!
I'm so exhausted though. Have not had a decent sleep for weeks and was hoping to get some good rest before our arrival!

MadeForThis · 25/09/2018 10:40

Bouncy ball and walking helped me both times.

BellMcEnd · 25/09/2018 10:43

Skipping got me going with No3. I had a really long early / latent stage then when he finally decided to be born he shot out like a missile. Second stage was documented as 2.5 minutes Shock. Good luck!

debbiegtj · 25/09/2018 10:47

I was surprised too! Offered my first sweep at 38 weeks! It must be different rules all over which is a bit rubbish because hopefully four weeks of exhausting contractions will mean an easy labour! I hardly slept last night too, other nights I’ve slept fine so I definitely feel for you there! Make sure you nap lots :) I had a busy day yesterday walking round Aldi then cleaning out the fridge and doing all the washing. I walked around a new comprehensive school for 2 hours for my eldest daughter too (scary!) so I’m hopeful it’s not going to be long now! My OH is also very impatient!!

I was going to have a home birth but we are very stretched for midwives here...I had to go to a hospital 45 minutes away the other night because my usual hospital L+D was full!! I really hope they aren’t when the time comes 😬 are you breastfeeding? Xxx

@BellMcEnd where you overdue? I'm trying to gauge when this one will make an appearance!

DS1 born at 39weeks
DS2 born at 49+3 (only 15 min 2nd stage!)

DS2 was so quick that is why I have planned a home birth this time!

debbiegtj · 25/09/2018 10:49

2.5 minutes!!! Oh my goodness that would be awesome!! Or maybe not due to our very full hospital!! I might give birth on the A1 😰😱

@debbiegtj I am hoping to breastfeed again!
With all that cleaning and walking it wouldn't surprise me if you had your little one in your arms tomorrow!

NakedMum33and3rd · 25/09/2018 10:50

I just realised I said 49+3. Obviously I mean 40+3!

debbiegtj · 25/09/2018 10:51

Me too! I breastfed my son (he’s now 8) and he never ever gets sick!! My 10 year old daughter catches every big going!! And it’s FREE!! My OH’s favourite word! 😂😂 xxx

@NakedMum33and3rd - I was 40+6 with the first two and 40+3 with my third. I think I’d have gone to 6 days over then as well but i’d had enough and my friend was my midwife so I practically held her hostage until she gave me a sweep. Nothing much happened until we went for a walk and I skipped round the park. DH was Hmm but I’d have done anything to get the little bugger shifted! Grin

BellMcEnd · 25/09/2018 10:56

(Oh and it was a planned home birth as I was quite quick with the other two and didn’t fancy having a car birth!)

debbiegtj · 25/09/2018 11:13

My OH thinks I’m crazy the things I’ve been doing! Even dancing around carrying our 1 year old cocker spaniel bouncing him up and down like a baby 😂😂 the things you do to get going!! We’ve just had a brand new carpet down and I’m convinced my waters will be breaking on that rather than anywhere else! Xxx

How you feeling this morning @debbiegtj ?

Absolutely nothing going on here!

debbiegtj · 26/09/2018 07:09

Morning! Still no further forward!! :( DD tomorrow and she’s still hanging in there! I’ve had every sign possible- she’s just too cozy I think 😊 have you had any sign at all yet? Xxxx

OP posts:
NakedMum33and3rd · 26/09/2018 08:07

Nope! I actually feel less like I'm about to give birth than I did 4 weeks ago!
Got a sweep tomorrow so hopefully that will get things going!

debbiegtj · 26/09/2018 08:23

I really hope it does! I’ve had another “show” this morning - actually thought my waters had broke but it was lots of watery mucus instead :/ sorry TMI! Going to meet the girls for tea and cake so hopefully by the time I get back you’ll have had some progress 😊 good luck xxxx

Can I join? Also due tomorrow on number 3 and feel less like like ill give birth than this time last week last month last year. No signs of anything happening not even a bit of pressure.

IchFliegeNach · 26/09/2018 08:49

39+ 5 here as well and NOTHING. Not one flipping sign!!! Feel less likely to give birth than at 30 weeks! 😂

NakedMum33and3rd · 26/09/2018 09:17

Hi @twobambinos and @IchFliegeNach

I just kept my head down on the school run this morning as I couldn't take another 'you still pregnant?'

People keep texting me asking me if I feel like I'm going into labour soon?!

I am having horrible shooting pains in my cervix and need to wee all the time but no hint of a contraction! Anyone else having this?

twobambinos · 26/09/2018 09:22

@nakedmum33and3rd that sounds like more signs than I have at least lol.
Oh totally agree about the school run. I don't mind the how are you and genuine enquiries but the rhetorical questions are too much. And the distant friends who have been radio silence in months suddenly all feel the need to contact u why like just why

IchFliegeNach · 26/09/2018 09:27

I have an occasional little period pain type thing but that's it!!!!
Argh. Was induced at 42 weeks with my first so really hoping that's not the way this one is going...

IchFliegeNach · 26/09/2018 09:28

Totally get the school run thing as well! My tinkly laugh is getting a bit strained!

twobambinos · 26/09/2018 09:39

Tinkly laugh Grin I can picture it now.
I avoided induction with my two. Very narrowly with the second one. I just thought for once one of them would be on time. Of course there is still time but not much ha
