For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

Well I am bouncing on my ball feeling absolutely nothing. Not a twinge, not a BH, nada.
Pah.

NakedMum33and3rd · 26/09/2018 21:13

I'm also bouncing on my ball. So anxious about my sweep tomorrow. I'm worried my MW won't do it as this baby won't stay engaged!!!

MaverickSnoopy · 27/09/2018 00:42

Debbie that sounds promising - I hope lying on your left is helping.

My pains are worse but I'm not convinced they're contractions yet. Tbh I've never noticed "tightening" before in previous labours, just really progressively bad back cramps, which is what I've got now (except previously they would be much worse by now, which they're not). Have got a hot water bottle and praying that they're either go away or turn into something more meaningful before morning. Feeling quite worried about the prospect of DH going to work and me having to get my eldest to school. It's only a 10 minute walk there but at the moment it feels like too much out of my capabilities! I've got a doctor's appointment to get to tomorrow as well.

twobambinos · 27/09/2018 05:11

A bit disappointed to wake up today and find I'm still pregnant not an ache or a pain. I hope the rest of you had a more productive night.

NakedMum33and3rd · 27/09/2018 06:17

Happy due date to us! Still pregnant here. However I have developed some new stretch marks over night! Oh the joys of pregnancy!

twobambinos · 27/09/2018 06:21

Oh no naked. I gave up looking a long time ago.

Foodylicious · 27/09/2018 06:21

Ugh. Been awake since 2.20.
Nothing productive going on.
Forgot to take my Promethazine last night so a rubbish night and now feel it really sick.
Hope I can have a nap after taking LO to school. Need to be back up for 12 though. OH working till 9 and not back till 10-10.30.

Sorry no one else has had a magic sneeze birth over night either!

debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 06:26

Afloat YES!! That’s exactly how I’m feeling too!! It’s happy due date for me! Although I don’t feel very happy 😆 never thought I’d make it this far with all the contractions I’ve been having! Anyone else got any further last night? Xxxx

twobambinos · 27/09/2018 06:29

There is still time for us today isn't there to have a 40 week baby. In denial much me. Confused

debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 06:30

Naked what time is your sweep? I’m scheduled for my fourth tomorrow afternoon 😖 my cervix has never had so much attention!! 😂😂

OP posts:
debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 06:32

Foody have you been awake all night due to tightenings? Or just couldn’t sleep? Xxxx

OP posts:
MaverickSnoopy · 27/09/2018 06:32

Afraid not Debbie. I can't believe you've been having contractions for so long either! Have you spoken to your MW recently (sorry brain has stopped working and I can't remember if you've already said).

I've still got the constant cramps this morning. I woke up at about 12 last night and ended up getting up from the pain and going and sitting on my birthing ball. Think I got back to sleep at about 3:30/4 and was up at 6 when DH got up for work. Shattered. I thought in the night, that the cramps were subsiding when I sat up, but they're not now.

Just wondering when it's an ok time to start calling round people to see if anyone can take my eldest to school.

NakedMum33and3rd · 27/09/2018 06:44

That's exciting maverick! I hope things progress for you.

My sweep is at 4:15 Debbie. My mum is coming round to look after the kids. I really hope it gets things going. My whole body aches today! Can't wait to sleep on my front again!

Foodylicious · 27/09/2018 06:49

Debbie just couldn't sleep.
But I am having more tightenings than is usual for me at this time of day.
Just really over front of bump though and not painful.

Eek maverick! All sounding good Grin

If you are able can you have a good breakfast?

Foodylicious · 27/09/2018 06:50

Is DH still at home at the moment? Or left for work already?

MaverickSnoopy · 27/09/2018 06:57

I've got someone to take DD to school - so relieved. Planning on having porridge for breakfast - I do feel hungry.

Still not convinced this is labour though. I feel like it should be getting worse, except it's not, it's just getting more....constant I suppose. I am feeling washed out but that's probably several nights of very bad sleep.

Those of you who have had sweeps before 40 weeks...is that normal in your area? Around here they won't touch you until 40 weeks, not even to see if you're dilated. I haven't seen a MW since 36 weeks I don't think and even then it was just a chat. Going to take full advantage of my Dr's apt today.

debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 07:03

I’ve mentioned all the contractions to my MW and she says it’s good because it’s doing something :/ I’m was only 2cm dilated on Sunday evening when I went to hospital to get checked out because I started freaking out about it! They don’t seem concerned! That’s when I got sweep no.3.... I’m not sure on the rules on sweeps in different areas but I was asked at 38 weeks if I wanted a sweep so said yes. Maybe because I’d started getting contractions?! I’m not too sure! They haven’t worked though :( I lost my plug Friday gone after my second sweep though and was barely a cm dilated so my body is doing something!! Just verrrryyyy slowly!

Maverick have you been timing? Xxxx

OP posts:
MaverickSnoopy · 27/09/2018 07:09

I must admit sweeps have never worked for me in the past so I'm not holding out for one. I'm just interested.

I'm not timing. In previous labours I had back to back contractions and didn't get anything in my tummy. This is similar and the pain is literally constant. Although last night I was also having some waves of it being worse and they were about 2 mins apart. Now I'm not really having the waves, but it seems ever such a fraction worse, but only a bit. Got the doctors at 1030 though so not too long to wait.

debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 07:12

I think I may have just had my “clear out” followed by a little but powerful contraction!!

OH has just this second gone to work stating he thinks our little girl will be one of the 5% actually born on her DD!! I’m extremely hopeful now! Just going to go about my day as normal though until a contraction knocks me off my feet then I’ll know it’s the real deal! Until then, it’s just how every other day has started (minus bowel movements) the last few weeks 😬 xxxx

OP posts:
debbiegtj · 27/09/2018 07:13

Ahhhb that’s good! Hopefully it’s the start of things 🤞 wouldn’t it be lovely if all of us went into labour today?? Xxx

OP posts:
Foodylicious · 27/09/2018 07:24

Ooh Debbie fx!

twobambinos · 27/09/2018 07:41

I think its sounding promising that at least one of the babies on here will be born on their due date anyway.

I have been looking at the stats for weeks and 50% are born on or before due date of 40 weeks and I convinced myself that because my first two were late that the odds are stacked in my favour this time.

I haven't had a sweep yet. Or even anyone requesting a close up. On dd2 they did the first sweep at 40+8 on dd1 they didn't do any. I won't get excited about being offered one today either I wouldn't be surprised if they said baby wasn't head down anymore either.

On a positive note. It really can't be long for us now can it.

MaverickSnoopy · 27/09/2018 07:43

Debbie that happened when I had dd1. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Foodylicious · 27/09/2018 08:09

I'm sure we all have stories from friends. Was a bit Shock at this -
One of my friends had a very quick labour with her 2nd (9 weeks ago).
Contraction started 10.30am, DH home at 12.30, got to hospital at 13.00 and baby out at 13.10!

NakedMum33and3rd · 27/09/2018 08:19

With my second I had a sweep at 11. Felt a bit uncomfortable all day then at about 6pm contractions were 10 mins apart but totally bearable.
Went to hospital as I had GBS and needed to get 4 hours of antibiotics and he was born 45 mins after I arrived at hospital.
I went from 4cm to him being born in 25 minutes. I was fully clothed when I said I needed to push. Midwives wouldn't believe me. Head came out as my knickers came off!
