Sharp pains at 39+5 😬

For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

I felt like that on Sunday evening and genuinely thought I was in the throws of it but it soon subsided :( I’m having painful contractions this afternoon about 30 minutes apart....luckily my OH finished work at 2pm today because this could finally be it!!! If they die down I will be heard screaming from 300 miles away!! 😂😂

Following adamantly, a bit further behind (39+2) but regular BH are getting a bit painful. However, our pluming has broken down so DH is in the throws of fixing it - we live in a remote cottage - so I could do with another week of waiting!

MaverickSnoopy seeing the midwife next week when I will be 40+2. Currently only 39+3 so trying to remind myself that it is still very early.
Bit of a funny tummy today, feels gripey and needing the loo a lot (sorry tmi). Good luck everyone else, especially those much further on than me- I hope you have your lovely babies soon!

Rowena it's not that early at all, just because some of us has a history of being overdue on this thread doesn't mean everyone is.
It's been quiet on here today I hope that means you are all busy having babies.

I'm only 39 weeks today so trying to reset my expectations thatvyhis bit could go for quite some time yet

I’ve just came back from my last midwife visit! Got a flu jab while I was there and a very good sweep! The OH laughed at me for saying it was the best sweep I’ve had! 😂😂 she had a good rut around!! I’m still 2cm dilated but totally ready to go at any time! I’m booked for an induction on Thursday evening (if I make it that far) 😊🙌🏻 Knowing my baby will be here by this time next Friday is the best feeling ever! Going to spend the next 6 days relaxing and getting ready for our new arrival ❤️

However 15 minutes after my awesome sweep....I’ve got some mighty contractions starting!!

I live in County Durham and the midwives here induce at 41 weeks! Hoping that’s a comfort to you ladies that are nearly at 41 weeks? Maybe mention it at your next MW appointment to see what their rules are? Sending love to you other patient mammas ❤️

Hope your sweep does the trick.

With #1 I had had contractions all night (due date) but they tailed off. Had appt booked for 40+1 and the sweep really got them going again. I had to stop and grip a table on the way out.

Another day here with nothing to report not so much as a twinge

Contractions still going strong after a meal and a bath! Lay in bed now as that ALWAYS stops them- if it doesn’t then I know it’s the real deal!! Maybe 2ltrs of pineapple juice, a sweep and chilli sauce on my tea has worked! 😂😂 time will definitely tell xxxx

Good luck Debbie. Interesting that they induce at 41 weeks in your area. It's a strict 42 weeks here (unless you're me and they break the rules by not being able to fit me in until 42+1). I had been told at the beginning of this pregnancy that they would induce me early due to my history of pgp/sciatica (which is very bad and I have children who rely on me), but they have now gone back on that....I suspect because our area is in the midst of a midwife shortage crisis. What a time to be heavily pregnant!

@foodylicious I shouldn't be complaining either it could be worse I could be having pains and going no where fast so maybe I should just be grateful.
I'll find out Monday what the plan is for the week anyway. I'm sure this time next week I won't be far off having my baby if he isn't already here but it's just so disheartening.
