Sharp pains at 39+5 😬

For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

On sweeps, for my first I went into labour after my third one at 40+10. I asked the doctor at my last appointment and he said not much use unless cervix is ready and very painful if it’s not a bit open, so I guess it depends on the woman too

I’ve been walking around a bit as I’ve had a few strong contractions again this morning but not really much going on apart from that!!

Naked that’s exactly what I’m worried about 😆 leaving it so late I give birth in the car fully clothed or something 😂😂 xxx

I've just had a terribly upset stomach so have been frantically trying to get hold of DH to see if he has one too. I need to rule out something we've eaten! Haha

Well no labour for me yet. Just seen the doctor who called the midwife in and it turns out that whilst yes my body is moving things along, hence the extra toileting,plug loss and cramps, I'm not in labour. However baby is back to back and resting on my spine which is what is causing me the constant pain and making me feel sick. So I need to turn the baby. If anyone has any tips that would be brilliant! Baby is also 3/5 engaged so going in the right direction....

Can't say I'm surprised after two previous back to back deliveries....but I've never felt like this before pre giving birth.

A little bit crampy but I can't figure out if it is an upset stomach or something else. Can get hold of DH. Typical.

@MaverickSnoopy I've had a back to back labour. I really recommend spinning babies. They have some good exercises for getting baby to turn. Google it. Also avoid slouching on the sofa. X

Maverick that’s mostly positive!! At least you’re progressing, just very slowly like me :( I’ve heard of baby spinning- might be worth doing some YouTube exercises?

Naked do you have any transport? Family or friend maybe? I’d probably get yourself to L&D to get checked over or phone the midwife to see if she can come and see you incase you are in labour....luckily my OH only works 10 minutes away and I have a direct line to him as his employers know I’m ready to go any moment :/ I’d be so scared if I couldn’t reach him at any point xxxx

Def not in labour yet. I've got my midwife appointment at 4:15 so hopefully will get and update then!

I have everything crossed for you! I’m very uncomfortable today my bump is absolutely rock hard! Still getting contractions and what feels like trapped wind possibly :/ I’m totally over being pregnant now 😖 xxxx

So looks like I'm going for 3 in a row. Come back next week.
I'll be checking in on all the updates though and hopefully I'll get to add some symptoms soon.

half a lager and a curry, worked for me all 3 times.
Only problem was they were very fast labours just 4 hours between all 3 of them.

What kind of curry are we talking here Romany? 😂😂 I’m an absolute weakling!!! 😂😂😂

Oh I tried every kind of curry last time. Nothing worked. No combination of anything worked. the heartburn is too bad to even contemplate a curry for me at the moment.

No sweep yet Debbie. Early next week I think. I'm happy enough to give it a few more days its not like I was expecting to go on time. Hoping yes but not expecting. I'll have a good sob again tomorrow morning if I wake up pregnant though.

Just has a successful sweep with quite a big show. She could stretch me to 4cm and baby's head is really low.

Naked that’s exactly the same as me!! The last sweep anyway, I’m hoping I’m a bit further along now 😊 get out for a walk and get the hubby pinned down tonight 😆

Twobambinos I bet you beat me into labour!! Mines really dragging!! A friend told me to use my breast pump to pump a few drops of milk and that could work!! Tried this afternoon and forgot how bloody painful breast pumps are 😬 xxxx

I had a go this eve and have 4 little 1ml syringes of colostrum in the freezer now.

(I am still feeding LO so it was pretty ok)

Nothing too strong, I don't like it too hot.
I think it was the combo of curry and lager tbh. (Stella) lager, if that helps.

You could always try sex?
Or start cleaning frantically, even if you don't have the nesting instinct.
The exercise might do it.

I'm not planning to breast feed but my god everytime I so much as air my nips for the last about two months they leak so I'm gonna say that another thing that didn't work for me. Or sex romany. I think its just a waiting game now and hopefully when it happens for me its quick. But not so quick that it ends up happening at home or in the car.
